"I always stay here whenever I am in Shibuya because its price and location wise is the most worth it around Shibuya area. Room is small but has everything you need. However one thing that stayed the same over the years is the hot/cold water shower system, hope the management can look to change it as it takes a long time for hot water to come out and when it does it becomes scalding hot. No complaints due to the excellent service standards (staff speak very good English) and its stone throw proximity to the New South Exit of JR Shibuya."

"This hotel is the closest one to Higashi-Ikebukuro Station, and right across from Sunshine City! The 7-Eleven downstairs was the most comprehensive one I found on this Tokyo trip. Even with a lot of people buying things, the checkout was super fast, with 6-7 staff working at once – very efficient. There's also bowling, an aquarium, a 100-yen shop, and a drugstore, all conveniently located downstairs. Every day was just shopping, shopping, shopping! Since tax refunds aren't as easy anymore, you might as well stock up."

"Great Location and does the job, however you have to be out of bed and ready to give your key and check out by 11am even if you stay multiple days, so sleeping in is difficult, luggage storage isn’t great too but the place does the job if you’re travelling solo, wouldn’t recommend if you have packed alot though 👍🏻"

"Great hotel located directly above Shibuya station which meant the location was very convenient. Even though I had booked the base room which was only 20 m², the room design meant that the room did not feel small at all and the room was a well laid out with a Japanese style toilet and seperate shower. Overall I would definitely stay at this hotel, considering its location, price, customer service and room layout. The hotel staff at the front desk were very helpful and we’re even able to help us send our baggage to our next hotel and help us fill out the documentation in Japanese."

"Lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic location. About 8 minutes walk from the metro, one stop from Shibuya, many other transport links. Ebisu station has many stores for great shopping from food to clothing and more, very convenient. Surrounded by an abundance of really good restaurants, some literally just downstairs from hotel. At least 3 convenience stores just around the corner. Staff were also very helpful and courteous. Great selection of amenities and extras at reception. I would stay again. Ebisu is easily one of my favourite areas to stay in Tokyo. Not crazy busy but lots to explore. Note, it's a boutique hotel, so not particularly spacious but the location definitely makes up for it. Highly recommended as a convenient base for a few days."

"As a solo female traveler, I specifically booked a 'Ladyroom' here. It's located on the same floor as the front desk and has two security doors, requiring a room card to access the ladies' floor – I felt incredibly safe! The front desk staff were super helpful, and the cleaning ladies were all locals and very polite (unlike some hotels with Southeast Asian staff). My room was spotless every day during my three-night stay, extremely clean and hygienic. The Ladyroom also came with a curling iron and a beauty device, which was a very thoughtful touch! The only downside is they don't provide individually packaged toiletries, so be sure to bring your own in advance! **Environment:** The hotel's location is super convenient. There's a popular brunch spot right downstairs, and so many great food options nearby!"

"The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk service was very attentive, providing me with lots of guidance on transportation – really commendable! I stayed at this hotel two years ago and just spent another three nights here. The breakfast has definitely improved; I ate there on my check-out day because of the heavy rain, and it was quite good, definitely worth the price. Ironically, the trendy, long-queued bakery near the hotel that everyone raves about was actually quite mediocre."

"Front desk and housekeeping staff were very kind but the hotel itself lacked some basic amenities like a suitcase rack, cotton swabs and most importantly for me, a smoking area. I understand that smoking is strictly regulated in Shibuya, but given that fact it would be nice for the hotel to provide a designated area rather than instructing guests to walk 5 blocks each way to the often crowded public smoking area at Ebisu Station. Every other hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan has provided this. If you are a smoker definitely look elsewhere. Room and facilities were relatively clean but small and not thoughtfully designed. Only two small hooks with 2 hangers each for clothing. Many marks on the walls, especially the toilet which felt somewhat unhygienic. Decorative moss on the wall had a strange odor, and after handing you a bottle of water at check in you’re on your own for pretty much everything. Breakfast was quite basic served with plastic cutlery and often sold out of anything but plain toast by 9am. Despite the shortcomings the location was good and front desk was apologetic for lack of amenities."

"Might be one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. At first I was surprised ‘cause I expected a room with some bunk beds, but instead it’s a very big room so it's like a dorm with so many bunkbeds. But worry not, it gives u more privacy that u can expect, even though during the days it can be a bit noisy as the staff might get into the room to clean and change sheets after someone checked out. But I really love the place. The toilets are plenty, the shower rooms are many, so you don't need to feel like you have to rush when using them ‘cause nobody is waiting after you. Body soaps, shampoos, n conditioner are also available. Even extra towels for guests staying multiple nights! I feel like being pampered. They also provide washing&drying machines, so laundry is taken care of. They even provide sanitary napkins/woman pads! This is so considerate and greatly appreciated. And while they said “no luggage storage,” they actually provided the space, so it’s really convenient. I love the location the best. It’s just one train away from and to Narita airport, so if u carry a baggage with u, u can travel with ease as u don’t need to transfer to another train/metro n drag your suitcases around. It’s also close to some stations like Mita St. and Tamachi St, and others, including bus stops, so going anywhere from and to the hostel is never a hassle. And as other reviews might have said, it's so close to Tokyo Tower! They also have a lounge in the basement where u can have your meals, get hot water, etc. Totally recommend this place! PS: While I have no issues with this, when I stayed there, there was this lady complaining about the construction’s noises, so if you’re a light sleeper u might take it into account. But personally I don’t really feel that, ‘cause after venturing out all day, my body just succumbed to the bed to sleep. LoL"

YYseraQThis hotel is super convenient, located close to both Ueno Station and Okachimachi Station, making it easy to get around. Plus, right across the street is the Okachimachi 'pedestrian street' with plenty of dining options. The Japanese-style standard amenities are great. I'd definitely recommend it to friends planning a trip to Tokyo.

GGuest UserThe twin rooms all face JR Station. We were initially given a room on the fifth floor, and it was so noisy we couldn't sleep at all. After telling the front desk, they kindly moved us to the eleventh floor, which we really appreciate. There's still a faint train noise, but it doesn't disturb our rest. Overall, the location is great and convenient for getting around.

GGuest User• located at the furthest exit from the Ikebukuro train station. have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Yamanote line. the surrounding is also filled with a lot of sus shops, with girls standing around at night holding papers and shouting at men. if you’re a female they won’t bother you but if you’re a guy stay safe.  • at night can hear some shouting from the street as well.  • good; have Refa hair dryer, hair wash etc. there’s also a laundry machine, microwave, etc. which was really nice. • space wise, I think that it is very spacious especially for a solo traveller with only one luggage but if you have two, there might not be enough space for you to open your luggage.

JJackyMy overall experience with this stay was quite complex, feeling more like a test of service management capabilities. On the first day, the room cleaning quality was noticeably below expectations. The wash area, countertop details, and some amenities weren't clean enough, and the bedding wasn't tidied properly. From a housekeeping management perspective, this felt more like a failure in process execution rather than an isolated incident, and it definitely affected my first impression. However, after I raised the issue, the hotel's recovery actions were prompt. In the following days, the room cleaning was significantly more standardized, with noticeable improvements in detail. This indicates that the hotel is capable of good service, but the initial day's execution standards simply weren't met. In contrast, Trip.com's service experience during this incident left a deeper impression. The customer service proactively followed up, communicated efficiently, and handled the situation professionally. They were able to push for problem resolution from a customer experience perspective, demonstrating a mature platform service system. This level of after-sales responsiveness is quite high among current online travel platforms. Overall Rating: The hotel's hardware and positioning are fine, but there's room for improvement in service consistency, especially regarding the first-day delivery standards of housekeeping management. Trip.com's coordination and service performance in this incident, on the other hand, highlighted the professional value of their platform.

GGuest UserThough small, this hotel has everything you need. Its Ginza location is incredibly convenient, perfect for shopping or quickly getting to Narita Airport via the expressway. What truly impressed me is how many features are packed into such a compact space. They have a coin-operated laundry and a large public bath. The room, which I'd estimate at about 20 square meters, even managed to fit bunk beds (1.2m/1.5m), making it very family-friendly. A minor point is that since the hotel is directly above the subway, you occasionally feel vibrations as trains pass. This led to a funny moment when an actual earthquake hit at night, and I initially thought it was just another train going by!

GGuest UserThe hotel is in an excellent location, conveniently situated near Ueno station and a nearby subway station, making travel around the city very easy. One of the highlights of the stay was the thoughtful amenities. The hotel offers an onsen, complimentary soba in the evening, and jelly desserts, which added a nice touch to the overall experience. The breakfast was especially impressive-delicious and well worth the price. The room size(around14square meters) was impact but comfortable, suitable for 2 people. Additional blankets can be requested at the front desk if needed. The staff were friendly, always smiling, and very throughout the stay. Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel and had a great experience. The downside was the elevator, which can be slow and crowded during peaking times. However, if you’re staying on a lower floor, using the stairs is a convenient alternative.

GGuest Useremployees and amazing breakfast. They had many vegetables + yogurt + all kind of meats (I really liked the beef) - really worth it for 2100 yen per person. My only complaint is that breakfast ends quite early at 9:30. It is very close to 2 metro lines (green and orange) so you can easily reach any place in Tokyo. There is a non-stop 7/11 at the -1 floor (you can take the elevator and exit through the shop). It has a very easy to use and good exchange rate ATM. The gym is like the typical hotel gym. Very small and with few dumbbells.

CCarey LoyCenturion Hotel Ueno was a complete disappointment, falling short of basic hospitality standards. The deception started right at check-in: the room was explicitly advertised and booked as a ”Casual Double Bed,” but what we actually received was a cramped single bed. This blatant misrepresentation immediately compromised the comfort of our stay. The lack of care extended into the bathroom, which was a major letdown. The sink and shower area were marred by very bad, visible marks that made the entire space feel neglected and unhygienic. For a hotel that positions itself in a convenient location like Ueno, the absolute disregard for accurate room descriptions and rigorous housekeeping is unacceptable.
