"We stayed at the city hotel for over two weeks. We changed rooms twice. The internet didn't work properly in ANY of the rooms. Netflix or video conferencing became a real problem.
The shower also didn't work properly. The temperature kept changing, which was very unpleasant. The housekeeping staff often had loud conversations in the hallway. Despite being spoken to, there was hardly any improvement.
I also found a small bloodstain on my pillow. Every morning I arranged the pillow so that it was visible. Only after several days and a complaint at reception was the cover finally changed.
The mattresses are completely worn out. One day the elevator broke down. Our room was on the 5th floor.
The receptionist just shrugged.
I certainly don't expect royal treatment, but as a guest, you can't expect to be greeted first. Not a chance! They sat there completely indifferent or stared at their phones.
The only positive thing is the location in Porz. It's within walking distance of the light rail and the train station. The pedestrian zone is directly opposite and offers everything you need.
The blonde receptionist was a bright spot. While she couldn't solve the problems either, she at least showed understanding.
I also asked for the manager several times, as I would have liked to discuss the issues with her. I didn't encounter her even once during my nearly three-week stay.
Unfortunately, there are few alternatives in Cologne Porz. But you should be aware of these problems when booking."
"Zimmer sauber und alles war da was man braucht. Sogar eine Kaffeemaschine war da.
Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig. Einfach top!

Amazing
GGuest UserStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.
GGuest UserThe room was nice and spacious. We went here in the winter and the heater worked well and it stayed pretty warm. It had everything we needed here and you can request things and services through there website (for free). The hotel also had a sauna and fitness to use for free. We only used the sauna and it was really relaxing. The only downside was that the location wasn’t that optimal for the places we wanted to visit.
OOlaf HsiehThis hotel in Cologne had a great location! While not right in the city center, it was still within walking distance and felt a bit quieter and more peaceful than being right in the hustle and bustle. We stayed during a heatwave, so the free lemon-infused iced water in the lobby was an absolute godsend. Plus, the rooftop view was amazing, with clear sights of famous landmarks!
GGuest UserWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!
GGuest UserI had a great stay at Hotel Flandrischer Hof! The location is excellent — right in the heart of Cologne and just a short walk from everything I needed. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a busy day.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty with a good variety. I’d definitely stay here again next time I visit the city. Great value for the price!
KKuantwVery close to the station. For late check-in, you need to contact the hotel in advance to get the access code and key. The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The hot water was okay, but it would be better if it were a bit hotter. It was really good value for money with the discount! Perfect for a layover.
AA WariavwalaExcellent hotel quality and very friendly service. Any issues were promptly resolved by hotel. Highly recommended. BF was excellent and so were the swim pool and sauna.
旅旅遊小白There are two ways to get back to the hotel. One way is to go from the train station, detour to the subway station, and then come up. This route is better as you avoid the sun and it's easier to push luggage. The other way is to exit the train station, walk past the Cologne Cathedral, cross the road, and reach the hotel. This takes about 7-8 minutes with luggage, so it's a bit further. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage upstairs, which I really appreciated. They also offer free coffee and water.
GGuest UserVery friendly service, perfect location though noisy due to its proximity to the train station. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the furnishings were quite run-down: torn bed linen, windows that didn't close properly, a broken lamp, and a shattered lamp in the bathroom.
Ccdtheunicornlovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers.
