Hampton by Hilton Hotels in Kunming

This is an excellent location if you have an early train out of the Kunming South station. It’s about a ten-minute walk to and from the station, or if you arrange the shuttle with them, I believe you can take that one time. The breakfast buffet was large, with a variety of both Western and Chinese foods. The 24-hr free laundry room (with soap provided) was a big bonus. The room was clean, with an excellent view from the floor-to-ceiling window. We also loved that there was a street just outside the hotel that had street vendors selling lots of types of food. It was a pretty active part of town with lots of students.

We stayed at many Hilton Garden Inn hotels during this trip. When we arrived in Kunming, only this hotel fully met our travel requirements. At the same time, the floor was very high and the view was great. When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff was very enthusiastic and considerate. They upgraded our room type and sent a fruit plate to the room. It was very nice, proactive and enthusiastic.

Check-in/out front desk staff, breakfast restaurant staff and housekeeper services are excellent. Strongly recommended hotel to stay in Kunming. Can take subway line 6 straight from airport and alight at Chajie station and just short walk across the road intersection to hotel. Nice street view from Room 1010, provided you are not bother with a bit of traffic noise.
