The monastery was really nice. The room was big and with a balcony . Meals were good, lots of small dishes, tasty food. Onsens were good, there are 2 different options.
I had a great experience.

I honestly can't recommend this place more than enough.
From friendly staff, nice amenities, really great views, and a sauna and an onsen. I can't recommend this place more than enough. 10 stars.

Our stay at Fukuchi-In was amazing. We slept in a traditional japanese room and had a delicious dinner and breakfast in another incredibly beautiful room, shared with other guests.
We attended the morning prayers and enjoyed the indoor and outdoor onsens.
There was heating in the room :)

Witnessing the morning chanting was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The front desk staff spoke excellent English, and everyone was warm and welcoming. Guests are free to explore the temple grounds and enjoy the serene Zen garden. The Shojin Ryori meal is an absolute must-try.

Good stay, the staff was nice. I appreciated the onsen both carbonated and open air hot tub. The cerimony in the morning was a bit too much Giorgiolona

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, but the rooms are pretty rundown. The whole experience was just fine. If you are on a budget, stay here. Otherwise, I'd recommend a different spot.

The standard rooms are very small, and the bathroom is shared, with four stalls for women. There are two baths, and the food is okay. However, the value for money is really low... If you get a larger room, you'll have a nice view.

This is the most satisfying hotel on this trip. If you have time, you should stay for a week to experience the tranquility. The food is clean, the morning class is rigorous, and although I don’t speak the language, I don’t feel unfamiliar at all.

This is a historic lodge with convenient transportation, not far from major attractions. The gardens are unique and peaceful. The hot springs are particularly good, and the dining experience is a true ritual.

This is a very "interesting" temple hotel. They actually treat us differently in a Buddhist holy place. In short, there is no need to spend money to find it unpleasant. This unpleasantness starts from stepping into that beautiful entrance. There were four of us in our group and we brought four suitcases. After checking in, we were told to carry the suitcases to the room by ourselves. We thought that we had to do it ourselves in temple hotels, so we thought, forget it. But two of them were really heavy, so we asked the boy at the front desk for help. He was very hesitant and kept saying that you can push it yourself. I said, "Help us carry it up the high steps." He continued to say that you can push it yourself, and I said, "Lift please." He helped us carry it reluctantly. Until we walked to the hotel room, we encountered two flights of stairs, a total of nearly 30 steps. We also struggled to do it ourselves. The next day, we checked out and prepared to carry the suitcases down by ourselves, but found that the staff helped other guests' 20-inch small suitcases to the front desk. Any normal person would feel that they were treated differently. I went to the front desk and asked the girl if she could help take the suitcases from the room, and she said, "You can do it yourself." I asked why the two guests' small suitcases were taken by someone, and one of them was a boy. I don't understand why you have different services for different guests. Then she helped me to ask the male staff to carry the luggage. She didn't say anything sorry the whole time. By the way, this girl was the one who let us push the luggage to the room on the first day.
After picking up the luggage, I asked another new face girl (whose English was better), "Excuse me, will you take the guests' luggage to the room?" She said that they usually do. Then I asked why we didn't do it yesterday. So she began to explain that if we arrived before 3 o'clock, there would be too much luggage at the front desk and they couldn't put it in, so they would take it to the room. But we arrived after 5 o'clock, so we took it ourselves. The two guests in the morning were very special, so we helped them, and we helped you too. After listening to it, I felt that this was too much nonsense. Seeing the evaluation of a foreign guest on their Google map, I couldn't agree more: This is just a temple hotel without the spirit of Buddhism.
Of course, the landscaping in the courtyard is very beautiful! This cannot be denied. The carbonic acid hot spring is also very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are very ceremonial with separate rooms. Except for the front desk staff, the attitude is very good. The guy introduced the dinner very carefully and seriously, and I like him.
But the front desk is really the image of a hotel. I won't come again after this incident.
