Am Samui Resort Taling Ngam

Denk goed na voordat je dit “resort” boekt. Dit resort begon met een dikke 4 sterren maar heeft zichzelf gedurende het verblijf omlaag geholpen naar een ster. Enkele weken van te voren boekte we een pickup bij de pier vanuit het hotel. Ze waren ons helaas vergeten wat kan gebeuren, dit werd netjes opgelost met een roomupgrade so far so good. Avond en ochtends is er niemand te bekennen op het resort laat staan dat er in de algemene ruimtes verlichting is, in geval van nood ben je dus op je zelf aangewezen. De kamer is relatief groot maar wel gedateerd (gordijnen hangen los en kunnen niet goed dicht). We hadden bij aankomst een scooter gereserveerd die we de volgende ochtend om 08:00 uur zouden kunnen meenemen. Zoals je al raad niemand te bekennen.. de eerste medewerkers kwamen rond half 9 aangelopen maar spreken geen Engels en verstaan geen gebarentaal. Rond 9 uur kregen we de scooter die bovendien prima was. Na terugkomst van onze 3e dag verbaasde wij ons dat onze kamer niet was schoongemaakt en we geen nieuwe handdoeken en lakens hadden gekregen. Bij navraag of we nieuwe handdoeken konden krijgen en of onze was kon worden schoongemaakt (kleding) moesten we zelf regelen en werd er naar de overkant van de straat gewezen. Tijdens het uitchecken werden ons foto’s laten zien van vieze handdoeken en beddenlinnen waarop ons antwoord was ja? Wat moeten we hier mee? Hiervoor moet je betalen en wordt ingehouden op je borg volgde als antwoord ( je betaald idd borg voor je sleutel) Na flink wat stampelij kregen we dit uiteindelijk toch terug, al ging dit niet van harte. Besef goed wanneer je dit hotel boekt dat er niets in de omgeving van dit hotel aanwezig is en je min of meer aan je lot wordt overgelaten.

Wir waren als Familie mit unserem 4 Monate alten Sohn hier und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten die Beach Villa aus Glas gebucht und der Blick auf den Strand ist wirklich traumhaft. Auch sonst ist das Hotel familienfreundlich: toller Pool, toller Strand mit Schatten und Sonne, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Für 170 Baht pro Person haben wir das Frühstück dazugebucht und es nicht bereut, leckere Auswahl und frische Zubereitungen von sehr freundlichen Koch. Es gibt die Möglichkeit zum Hotel Intercontinental mit einem Golf Kart abgeholt zu werden, um dort den Atm bspw zu nutzen. Das lohnt sich allemal, auch wegen dem genialen Ausblick. Toller Service. Wir empfehlen das nahe gelegene Restaurant Pada, hier geht es günstigere Gerichte zu top Preisen. Es ist sehr lecker dort 🙂

Very nice facility. Staff friendly and competent. Beach was perfect for the time we were there. Breakfast was sufficient and good. Restaurants nearby. Everything is easily accessible by scooter. We only booked for the weekend. It wasn't busy. Nice pool.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights, from April 7 to 10. We didn't have to look for long, we liked the description on Booking, plus the hotel is not far from the Raja pier. And I'm very glad that we chose this hotel! It is located on the sunset side of the island. There is a fairly large private parking, indoor and outdoor. The hotel has its own access to the beach, basically, the sea here has a big low tide, but we managed to swim on the day of check-in, the water is clean and transparent, the color of the Maldives)) You can choose to stay in ordinary houses in the garden, in panoramic glass small houses by the sea, and we opted for apartments in a two-story complex. Early check-in was not available to us, so we left our things in the car and settled on the beach, on chairs under the palm trees. The bar offered a promotion on alcoholic cocktails - everything for 100 baht, as well as food. We checked into a room on the second floor, we got the one on the far side, which turned out to be great - since in addition to the main panoramic window, the room also had a large side window, which creates a lot of light in the room. The room is bright, in a modern (not Thai) style, with a large bed with a hovering effect, a corner sofa and table, and a large wardrobe with huge mirrors, which is a rarity in Thai hotels. The shower also has a window, bright, comfortable. The shower is tropical. It is especially worth noting the cleanliness of the room and daily cleaning. There is a small mini-fridge, a kettle, coffee and tea, as well as 2 bottles of water 0.5. Large balcony with glass railings, overlooking the garden, palm trees and the sea. Sunsets and sunrises from the room and from the balcony are amazing. And in the garden you can see a large number of jumping squirrels)) The reception and restaurant of the hotel overlook the beach, that is, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with a view of the sea. We included breakfast in our stay, we were offered a continental option. Breakfast starts at 8 am (I would have liked it a couple of hours earlier, so as not to miss the morning hours for exploring the island). Our breakfast consisted of: brewed coffee, juice of your choice, an omelette, which is cooked very tasty here, a slice of tomato, sausages, a baguette, fruits (pineapple and watermelon). Instead of sausages, you can choose ham or fried bacon, as well as cooking eggs in another way: regular fried, scrambled, boiled. There are other breakfast options on the menu, with porridge or pancakes. Overall, the breakfast is excellent, they cook deliciously here. Cocktails in the bar also pleased, a good balance of taste and quality of ingredients. The staff is quite friendly. The cost of the hotel on Booking was lower than at the reception, and all three days we paid the Booking price, although initially we booked for only 1 day. Overall, I really liked everything, good location, beautiful grounds, convenient indoor parking, clean hotel grounds and rooms, delicious breakfasts. Perhaps for someone the downside will be the shallow sea due to low tides and the impossibility of swimming, but we went to other beaches. Also, there are no shops near the hotel, you need to go to the nearest 7/11
