"Five-star recommendation, the owner of the homestay is a very kind and friendly couple, suitable for friends who travel alone. Facilities: There are two floors in total, with two bathrooms and two toilets. Most of the time, there is no need to queue. There are also many free snacks to eat. The walls are decorated with banknotes, coins from various countries, and hand-painted by guests. Hygiene: The sanitation is cleaned every morning, and the public areas are very clean. Environment: There is a small Japanese courtyard, which is beautiful on rainy days. The room is very warm. The location is not as convenient as Sijo, but it is okay to have buses around. Service: This is important to say that the boss is really nice. I received a hand-painted card with my name on it the next morning. It was really touching to experience this warmth in a foreign country. Every day when I come back from outside, I will hear ”Welcome back” and see two smiling faces. My roommates have always been Chinese, and it is also a different experience to communicate with different friends every day. I left here today and changed my residence and felt a little uncomfortable. Finally, I wish mama and papa good health and happiness."

"Although it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below. Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks. Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly). Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion."

"Loved this place so much! It's a shame we only booked one night. We didn't meet the host at all; it was a completely self-check-in experience. Towels, toothbrushes, and other amenities were available for self-service purchase. They also offered bike rentals (1000 JPY per bike per day). Additionally, there was a 200 JPY tax per person. At first, I wondered how to pay the tax since we didn't see the host, but then I found the reservation confirmation and a QR code on the table in the room, which allowed us to scan and pay directly! Our room was on the second floor and had its own toilet and sink, while the shower room was shared and located outside. The room was really beautiful, and the kids loved it. I thought a wooden room might have poor soundproofing, but it was surprisingly quiet. We went to bed before 7 PM and didn't hear a sound. In the morning, we also enjoyed some hot white rice porridge, which was fantastic! I hope to have the chance to stay for a few more nights next time!"

"Excellent location. Very close to a konbini and all transport. Fast wifi. Free coffee. They provide towels and you can change your towel every day. On the 1st floor you can dry your hair with a Dyson hair dryer. There's also a hair dryer (a simple one) in the room. The shower has a shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and a garbage bin located very conveniently. There are also swabs, tissues and paper towels. There's a fridge and washing machines for 300 yen (coin activated) and a dryer for your clothes for 100 yen. I would definitely recommend this hostel for a friend"

"The place is super close to alot of mainstream attractions. Easily walking or one train stop away from Kyoto main station. The host is super knowledgeable on the Kyoto attractions and very helpful. Everyone in the team speaks English extremely well . The place is super clean and very organized. You can see the love given to his place. Dont skip the chat in the main lobby as you can learn alot from the host and other staff. Kudos for their passion. Definitely a place for me to come back."

"Overall a great stay! Location is nice, quiet yet accessible, just that it’s equally far from both nearest Keihan Main Line stations, so when you’re exhausted after the day, the walk is a little long. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the room felt a little bigger than what you get elsewhere. Everything was catered for. Didn’t get to try their breakfast but it looked really popular. Would recommend, oh and don’t forget to catch the sunset from their rooftop terrace!"

"The first time I took my parents to Japan for a trip, I chose this homestay and I was very satisfied. The location is convenient, the room is very new, the facilities are complete, the space is spacious, the most important thing is that it is completely ”what you see is what you get”, which is consistent with the photo. There are also outdoor scenery and open-air bathtubs, which have a Kyoto atmosphere. The overall wooden furniture and warm colors make it very relaxing to live. The kitchen utensils are complete and we also cooked together. "My stay this time was fantastic! From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff were professional and incredibly friendly. The room decor was modern and clean, with absolutely no strange odors, and the mattress provided just the right amount of support, making for a very comfortable sleep. What surprised me most was the excellent water pressure in the bathroom; the hot water came quickly, which made for a very relaxing shower. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with a convenience store and local eateries just a short walk downstairs."
