"Participated in the Dalian Marathon. This was my second time visiting Dalian, and just like my previous trip during the 2019 Qingming holiday, I stayed at the InterContinental. The location is super convenient, with a subway station right outside. I usually head towards Zhongshan Square Station, but on checkout day, the doorman, the guy with the long hair in a ponytail, recommended Friendly Square Station and even walked me to the intersection. I really appreciated that! The hotel breakfast was fantastic and had a great variety, including Dalian specialties like sea cucumber porridge with rice and kidney bean clam noodles, plus roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), wraps, and fried dough sticks. I got to try them all! Housekeeping was very prompt; every day I'd leave in the morning and come back in the afternoon to a clean room. The bathroom was spacious and well-lit. The only minor downside was that the room didn't have a main overhead light, making it a bit dim."

"The front desk staff were very friendly, and the hotel's cleanliness was basic but acceptable for the price – no major issues that would prevent a five-star rating. However, there are a few things I need to mention. On the first day of my stay, I requested two disposable razors. One of them was already opened, had no shaving cream inside, and the blade was even assembled. I'm not sure if it had been used before. Also, the tissues by the bed in the room – I counted them, and only nine had been used before they ran out. The toilet paper in the bathroom was also a small roll when I checked in, and after just four uses, it was gone. It seems these consumables weren't replaced with every new guest. I also want to complain about how thin the bedside tissues are; they're about one-third the thickness of normal tissues and really poor quality – thin and easily fall apart. Then, when checking in, I specifically said I didn't need housekeeping. Yet, at 10 AM the next morning, I was woken up by loud knocking. The cleaning lady said she was there to clean, which ruined any chance of sleeping in afterward. Furthermore, the TV in the room was hit or miss. The first few times I tried to turn it on, the remote control didn't respond, and the set-top box flashed red, indicating a fault. Later, it suddenly started working, but only if you were very close to the TV; otherwise, the remote wouldn't respond. Finally, there's the issue of sound insulation between rooms and the ceiling. The soundproofing isn't great; I could clearly hear conversations from the adjacent room and the upstairs guests. However, the window insulation is good – being double-paned, it blocked out most of the outside noise."

"For our May Day trip to Dalian, we specifically chose the Shangri-La Dalian, a classic five-star hotel that's been open for nearly 30 years. Overall, the service was reassuring. Despite the large holiday crowds, the hotel handled the peak well. They temporarily expanded the lobby lounge into a breakfast area, and the dining experience was orderly. The staff at the Horizon Club on the 25th floor were also gentle and patient, very friendly towards children. Their exclusive breakfast, snacks, and dinner were particularly thoughtful. I must give a special shout-out to the hotel's swimming pool! The space is tall, spacious, and filled with sunlight. The entire area feels dry and not stuffy. The public areas were meticulously clean, and the pool service was excellent. The pool depth design is incredibly reasonable; the main pool's shallowest point is 1.3 meters, and there's a dedicated shallow children's pool, perfect for infants and toddlers. It's very family-friendly, and the kids had a great time. The basic room space was sufficient, with a practical sofa, work area, and luggage rack. However, the hardware issues due to its age were prominent: the mattress was too firm and light, and there were few pillow options, leading to an average sleep experience. The bathroom lacked a separate toilet room, and the sink area was cramped. Additionally, the bath towels were too small and thin, not meeting five-star standards. I recommend the hotel promptly replace mattresses, pillows, and other amenities, and upgrade consumables to improve overall detail quality."

"First, the pros: 1. The sea view from the room is unbeatable. Lying in bed and watching the sea was incredibly relaxing. 2. The location is great. You can just walk downstairs and stroll around Xinghai Square, and the elevator offers a panoramic view of the entire square. 3. The service was decent. Most requests were met, but there were still some areas where they fell short. Cons: 1. The facilities are a bit dated. The shower water fluctuated between hot and cold, and the shower faucet was so confusing – it took me ages to figure it out by trial and error. It was also incredibly stiff and hard to turn, and I was worried about breaking it, which was a hassle. 2. The breakfast selection was too limited and felt quite perfunctory. The taste was just average. There wasn't even a coffee machine in the room. For 2000 a night during the May Day holiday, these facilities simply don't justify the price. 3. The windows were too dirty, which really impacted the beauty of my photos. 4. You have to go downstairs yourself to pick up food deliveries. As for luggage, they only helped us take it from the car to the front desk, not up to the room. 5. The parking in front of the lobby was chaotic. Some cars were blocking the entrance, and our taxi was stuck outside and couldn't get in. The security staff didn't do a good job of directing vehicles. Overall, it's a very average five-star hotel standard. It's definitely not worth 2000/day; it's more like a 1000-level hotel. The sea view premium probably accounts for a large portion of the room rate."

"I had a very satisfying stay. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to various places. There's a direct passage on the fourth floor to the mall, which is entirely dedicated to restaurants and an IMAX cinema. On the first basement floor, there's a supermarket and a florist. I bought live seafood from the supermarket and had the vendor steam it for me to take back to my room – the flower crabs and conches were absolutely amazing. Parking is available right outside, free of charge. The room facilities are great; the shower head and water temperature were perfect, and I used the washer and dryer multiple times. The hairdryer is also high-speed. Overall, everything was ideal."

"The room was absolutely satisfying, clean, and tidy. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. I was here for an event, and the owner even offered a thoughtful late check-out service, which I really appreciated. I'll definitely book here again for my next business trip. Plus, there's a whole street of great food right downstairs! Highly recommended!"

"The location is super convenient! 😍 The environment is elegant. The owner was really enthusiastic and helped us by recommending some Dalian attractions. Our room was on a high floor, very clean, and had a beautiful night view of the sea. 😍 It's very close to the train station and the subway entrance – basically, just turn left downstairs and you're there. Highly recommended! I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit."

"Everything from the moment I stepped in to check-in was seamless. Yuki and Bella at the front desk were incredibly warm and attentive, making the check-in process efficient and quick. They were also very patient in answering any questions I had, showing great attention to detail. It made for a very comfortable and reassuring stay!"

"Location: Near Xinghai Square, it's convenient to go anywhere. Didi (ride-sharing) is cheap and fast, with almost no waiting time. Service: The staff were attentive and thoughtful throughout. Guest Relations Manager Connie Chen contacted us in advance. The greeter at the breakfast restaurant, honestly, the breakfast was quite average, but her proactive and considerate service made up for it. Even the concierge in the lobby was very proactive in providing service. I would choose this hotel again next time. Room: It's a single building, but some floors are business offices. However, the elevators effectively bypass those floors. The high-floor views are also excellent. We were on the 48th floor. The sofa in the room can even be pulled out into an extra bed, so a twin room essentially becomes a triple room. I highly recommend this for parents with children! (I suggest they could put a small card, like Hilton does, explaining that the sofa converts into a bed; we only discovered it on the second day.) Our child accidentally stained the carpet with milk tea, and I think the handling was excellent. They quickly cleaned it while we were out, and the 200 yuan charge was acceptable. It also teaches the little one to be more careful and appreciative in the future. Dalian is truly beautiful, I've recommended it to many friends, and I'll also recommend staying at this hotel!"

"I enjoyed staying in this hotel. 5 stars but reasonable price. The room was clean and spacious and the view outside looked out towards the sea and harbour. They made the beds every morning. I did not eat the breakfast as downstairs and surrounding area had plenty of cheaper options due to being next to many shopping malls. The metro stop is not so far but a little more inconvenient to get to the main train station by walking. Line 2 takes you to the airport in less than 40 minutes for 4RMB. As the metro is nearby you can get to many local tourist places quickly and cheaply. Highly recommend if you want to spend a little more but have close access to get around."
