"The location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It's a 20-minute drive to the airport during off-peak hours, you can take the subway to Zhongshan Road, or bus 201 to Changjiang Road, all within a 10-minute walk. The Qiyi Market is nearby, perfect for grabbing breakfast, cherries, or local Dalian specialties. The room facilities are standard. The front desk staff, both the guys and girls, were good-looking and provided excellent service, even helping me with a late checkout until 4 PM due to my late flight. The library corner and restaurant on the 20th floor are great for remote work. Definitely a top choice for value for money."

"They upgraded our room upon arrival, giving us a fantastic room with a huge bathroom and a window. Weekend breakfast is until 11 AM, and on weekdays it's until 10 AM. We got the times mixed up and arrived after breakfast had finished. They were already cleaning up, but when they saw us, they enthusiastically brought out the food again, even though it delayed them from getting off work – I felt a bit bad about that. They even brought fruit to our room when they noticed we hadn't gone out. The staff are quite attentive."

The front desk staff was incredibly attentive; I left my hat in the lobby, and the hotel kept it safe for me and even mailed it back to my home. I'm very grateful!"

Knowing we had elderly family members with us, they meticulously guided us and reminded us to watch out for steps, providing truly thoughtful and warm service. Our room offered fantastic views; the scenery was expansive when we opened the window. The room itself was immaculately clean, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The hotel's overall decor is in a classic, established style, leaning towards a vintage and stately design. "My overall experience at Shangri-La Dalian was absolutely perfect this time, and I must give a special shout-out to Yina at the front desk! This morning, when I was checking out, the lobby was very busy, but Yina remained calm and professional throughout, never showing any signs of being rushed or perfunctory. She processed the check-out quickly and meticulously reviewed the bill, patiently explaining every charge. She proactively asked if I needed an invoice and carefully confirmed the title and tax ID information, saving me the hassle of double-checking everything myself.
She maintained a gentle smile the entire time, her tone was kind and polite, and her demeanor was just right – not overly enthusiastic to the point of being overwhelming. The hotel's facilities themselves are impeccable; the rooms are spotless, and the location is excellent. However, Yina's thoughtful and attentive service was truly the highlight of this trip. As a high-end hotel, Shangri-La's service quality truly lives up to its reputation, and Yina's professionalism perfectly embodies the feeling of 'home away from home'. GGuest UserI had a very satisfying stay! The hotel's location is excellent, super convenient as it's very close to the subway. It's right next to the Qingniwaqiao commercial street, including Dashang, and just a few hundred meters away from the Dalian Old Street Night Market, making it easy for sightseeing and dining.
Most importantly, the front desk lady provided wonderful service. She spoke very gently and was very attentive. Our several nights there were very comfortable. Because we arrived quite early, the front desk lady upgraded our room type based on availability, allowing us to check in ahead of time 👍🏻.
The room had no strange odors. Even though it's street-facing, closing the windows during the day kept the noise from being an issue, and at night it was completely quiet, so my sleep wasn't affected. The water pressure in the shower was super strong but not uncomfortable, and the hot water came on very quickly – hot showers were available anytime 👍🏻. The Wi-Fi was fast, and the mattress was very soft.
The cleaning staff did an excellent job. When we hung the 'clean my room' sign before leaving, we'd return to a neatly made bed, clean floors, and replenished amenities.
Overall, it was a very satisfying stay 😊

GGuest UserLocation: Just a 5-6 minute walk to the beach, and right next to the Water City and popular Instagram spots. The Fountain Square is about a 20-minute walk away. There are snack shops and Xiding (a restaurant) nearby.
Facilities: The hotel facilities are quite good and well-equipped, including a refrigerator, washing machine, and induction cooker.
Environment: The overall hotel environment is excellent, and the soundproofing is also good; we barely heard any noise during our two-day stay. Although it's a very tall building (67 floors in total), there are plenty of elevators, making it convenient to go up and down. We stayed in a city view suite, and the views were fantastic.
Service: The hotel staff provided excellent service. The lobby is on the 66th floor, which is also where check-in takes place. The housekeeping staff did a very thorough job cleaning our room.

The day before my arrival, a lovely staff member named Sunny proactively reached out to me. After adding her on WeChat, she provided a detailed overview of the hotel's facilities and services. On the day of check-in, she confirmed my arrival time and arranged my room in advance. After I checked in, she was incredibly attentive, checking in on me and promptly responding to any questions or needs I had.

GGuest UserI arrived at approximately 2:00 PM, and although my room was not yet cleaned due to the holiday period, I understood the situation. I checked into Room 232, the 270-degree sea view room, which was the highest available category at the time of booking.
Unfortunately, several issues significantly affected our stay. The condition of the room facilities was disappointing. In the first bathroom, the flush button was loose and partially detached, and there were visible cracks on the wall. In the second bathroom inside the sea-view bedroom, the door stopper was detached and the drainage system did not function properly.
Additionally, the glass panel near the wardrobe had a long crack, which made us uncomfortable using the area as we were concerned about causing further damage. Most importantly, the refrigerator was not functioning. Although a technician came on the first day and informed us that there was no power supply, no proper resolution was provided. On the second day, another technician was arranged, but we had to wait for a long time, which disrupted our travel plans. Eventually, we were informed that the refrigerator could not be used temporarily. As my family stayed for three nights, this meant we were unable to use the refrigerator for the entire stay and had to leave items with the reception, which was very inconvenient and did not reflect the value of the room.
Regarding cleanliness, the first day was satisfactory. However, on the second day, the housekeeping service appeared rushed. There were hair strands left in the room, and the bed was not properly made — the bed cover was simply pulled over without proper arrangement, and the bedding looked untidy and wrinkled. I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness standards.
Furthermore, the booking was made for three guests, yet only two glasses were provided in the room. There was no tea available, only bottled water. Communication via WeChat was also quite slow when requesting assistance.
On a positive note, the room view was beautiful, the location is excellent, and the staff who assisted us before check-in were helpful. The room design and view are truly impressive. However, after check-in, the overall experience did not meet expectations. Additionally, the mirrors in the room had noticeable stains.
I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration for service improvement. Thank you for your attention.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Dalian Golden Pebble Beach for two nights over the Dragon Boat Festival, booking two rooms, and we were absolutely delighted! From the moment we checked in, the service was exceptional. The front desk staff were all incredibly welcoming, especially Yi Yangqianxi, who even upgraded our rooms. We had a fantastic view of the ocean from our floor, which was such a mood booster. The hotel itself has a vibrant musical vibe, with a distinct rock 'n' roll flair 🤘. The rooms were great too. It's right by the beach, and Discoveryland is only a few hundred meters away, so the kids had an amazing time. The breakfast selection was quite diverse, with something to please everyone. In the evenings, we also visited the hotel's own bar and enjoyed a couple of drinks – it was fantastic! There was even a foreign resident singer who performed beautifully, making it a perfect spot to unwind. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit!

GGuest UserBefore my trip to Dalian, I spent days looking at hotels and B&Bs, worried about cleanliness and being too far from attractions. After three days of searching, and because my child loves loft-style rooms, I finally picked this place. It was such a pleasant surprise! The elevator on the first floor was very convenient. The owner specifically gave us a sea-view room where we could watch the sunrise, and it was also close to the elevator, which was great for the kids and elderly. The room was clean and tidy, and the amenities were very comprehensive. Downstairs is Donggang and Venice, and it's easy to get to Xinghai Square and the Oceanarium by subway or a 20-something RMB taxi ride. There's even parking downstairs. It was a truly enjoyable trip, highly recommend!

The front desk, considering we had a child with us, upgraded us to a family room and breakfast, and even gave us a welcome gift. They thoughtfully arranged for the extra bed to be made up for our little one in advance. The room's amenities were excellent, maintaining Intercontinental's consistently high standards.
The breakfast offered a wide variety, including local specialties like sea cucumber congee and Northeastern dishes, all of which were delicious. The staff were numerous, very enthusiastic, and incredibly efficient at clearing plates. From our room window, we could see several historic buildings in Zhongshan Square, indicating a prime location. All in all, I give it a 100% recommendation and will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful despite the language barrier (Google Translate sorted us out fine), and the cleaning team were lovely too.
The room was decent and properly clean, I checked for dust and there wasn't any. However, the hotel is quite old, and there was some mould on the ceiling and in the bathroom and shower curtain. It didn't bother me personally, but worth noting, and a bit of spray would be great. That said, Dalian was incredibly humid when I visited in late August, so I suspect this is partly a climate issue. Even my own towels wouldn't dry properly. The place was quite busy, mainly Chinese customers, but they were quiet and discreet.
Practical bits: they provide two bottles of water daily and disposable paper towels (which actually came in handy given the humidity). The room also had a washing machine (bring your own detergent) and you can hang clothes outside on the 9th floor veranda. There's a bus stop right outside with direct services to Xian Lu (shopping and basement food market) and the Transport University area night market, the subway goes straight to the airport, and you're walking distance from the main tourist spots like Russian Street, the old tram etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby too. And two convenience stores on ground floor. This place accepts foreign tourists and check-in was quick and easy. Internet was fast but slower in the evenings.
Honestly, some of the complaints I've read here seem a bit harsh considering what you're paying. You get what you pay for, and at this price point in this location, I think it's fair value. I'd stay here again, especially if travelling on a budget. Thank you, we had a lovely time in Dalian!
