"I must admit, The Ambassador hotel surprised me. The restaurant and bar are top class! The barman can mix any cocktail you want as he is very experienced and well focused on the customers. The bedrooms are reasonable and comfortable.  I would highly recommend this hotel as it’s close to town and all the shops and restaurants."

"The location is very good and the surrounding area is quiet. The executive suite offers mini bar drinks and snacks, as well as Heineken beer and wine. In addition, the hotel's restaurant is beautiful! It's delicious too! We had dinner twice in a row, it was delicious and the service was very warm. There is a park opposite the hotel, suitable for children to play."

"Good price quality ratio. You could see the hotel was quite old. Don't mean it was bad. But it looks something different from a new location and hotel. Staff were nice and helpful and the rooms were good clean"

"The location in the center of Haarlem is perfect; everything is within walking distance. The room on the second floor at the front of the hotel was very dated!! Old furniture, poorly maintained, small bathroom; the shower door couldn't open completely because the sink was in the way. There were two single beds, but the floor was sloped. I was with my girlfriend, and when we pushed the beds together, there was a height difference of over 5cm. No breakfast (on Sunday). There was a kettle in the room, but no coffee/tea or even cups! No mini-fridge. The price did not match what you would expect from a hotel. Definitely not recommended!"

"Our family had a wonderful 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Lion d'Or in Haarlem! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from the train station (70m or less) and a short walk to the charming city center. It made exploring both Haarlem and Amsterdam incredibly convenient. Our room was spacious enough for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child), clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. Staying in a corner room, we even woke up to the delightful sound of birds singing in the early morning—a lovely touch! The breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Also, don’t miss visiting Café De Paris in Haarlem, near Hotel Lion d'Or. The food there was fantastic and definitely worth trying! What truly set this hotel apart was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Their helpful local recommendations enriched our trip and made it even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Lion d'Or to anyone visiting Haarlem. It’s a gem of a hotel that combines convenience, comfort, and outstanding service. We can’t wait to return in the future!"

"Great hotel, close to the city center! Nice and quiet in the room, comfortable beds, pillows, and blankets. Free Wi-Fi. Very good and extensive breakfast. Two days of parking at Interparking Station for 25 euros (reservation required). You can drop off your luggage at the reception if you arrive early. I would definitely book it again."

"The hotel has a luxury look, the staff are very friendly and despite our arrival one hour earlier, there was already a room available. The room and bathroom were clean and clean. The matraces and coats were very firm, just as I like to see. There were also enough free parking spaces. The bus stop for the bus to the center is very close, ideal! The hotel bar service is better. There was no eye for the guests who came in, they were not welcomed and you had to call a servant to get a drink. Furthermore, we had to wait a reasonably long time for our drink. Ambiance is fine.
