Grand Base Hakata Gofuku Reviews

Having stayed in another Grand Base establishment in Kitakyshu, I was expecting the same. But it is not. Check-in was relatively more straightforward here, which does not require face verification of all guests. There wasn't a water dispensing machine in this as compared to the one in Kitakyshu. Design wise, this one in Hakata also felt more cramped. Nonetheless, a good stay near the major attractions. Neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful.

It might be uncomfortable because it's unmanned. The elevator is really narrow. The room was spacious and nice!

The self-service check-in process is more convenient and faster than expected. The location of the B&B is a bit remote and there is room for improvement in bed hygiene. Others are pretty good.

First of all, it was better than I expected for a family of four to use. It was so hot that I was sweating a lot, but there was a washing machine so I could do the laundry! 6 men stayed, and there were 3 double beds, so it was enough. Even if 7 people sleep, there is a sofa, so it is enough to stay. The location is a 10-minute walk from the station, and it was nice because it felt like a quiet Japanese countryside. However, it is an unmanned check-in, so you have to call the owner at the end and verify your identity, so it can be a little difficult if you don't speak Japanese.

I was able to get a good feel of Japan because the hotel was located in a clean and quiet Japanese neighborhood.
