"The journey to the hotel went smoothly. The hotel has an underground car park only about 100 metres from the hotel, which was very spacious by French standards. Bravo. The architecture of the hotel itself is very reminiscent of the 80s and does not fit in at all with the surroundings. The reception at the hotel was dismissive and reserved. Our room turned out to be small and functional, but clean and with a great view of the bay. As our room was cold, we turned on the heating only to find that it had to be activated by reception, which was only done on request. However, the temperature was limited so that the room didn't get really warm. Obvious savings are being made here. The breakfast offer was very small and spartan, old baguette, old bread. In addition, the breakfast room lacked what the car park had in abundance: space. It was very cramped both at the small buffet and at the seats in the adjoining room."

"The room was spacious, clean, and tidy; it was considered large for its size in Europe, and it even had a balcony. The restaurant was also large and spacious, exuding the luxury of a four-star hotel, with floor-to-ceiling windows that were bright and airy, offering a good visual experience. Located at a few intersections along the street, it's right next to the sea, just a two- or three-minute walk away for a stroll and a view of the ocean. The only drawback was that there was no hot water for the shower on the first night, and the front desk couldn't get anyone to fix it, so I had to take a cold shower. Ctrip (the travel agency) was helpful in contacting the front desk, and hot water was finally available the next afternoon, supposedly due to a system malfunction (I couldn't understand this; I've never encountered anything like it before, and it was quite frustrating). They refunded 300 yuan of the first night's room rate after I requested a partial refund. The sink was too high, soaking my clothes. Water seeped from the edge of the sink onto the wooden countertop, requiring me to constantly wipe away the seeping water with a towel when washing my hands, face, or clothes. The sink stopper wasn't springy; I had to pry it off by hand to drain the water, and the sink was covered in rust, which was unpleasant to look at. As someone who is very clean and has OCD, I couldn't stand it, indicating that the hotel doesn't prioritize basic infrastructure. I'm a clean freak, and if the rust and the leaking sink aren't fixed, I won't stay here again. The hot water service was also infuriatingly slow. I didn't get to wash my hair; I was planning to take a hot shower to relax and sleep after a tiring trip, but I ended up taking a cold shower instead."

"We had an excellent stay at Didier Meril. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff at the front desk were all so welcoming and happy to help. The efficient cleaning staff, too, were patient and friendly. Entering our room on the top floor, we were astonished at the breathtaking view over the bay; what a view to wake up to every morning! But also the clear shower cube and wonderful soaking tub were wonderful surprises. The room was clean, very nicely appointed, and the bed comfortable. The hotel is out of the fray of the touristic areas but is a short beautiful walk to downtown. There is also a great little boulangerie across the street, and an outdoor restaurant on the beach below. Our stay in Dinard was made even more memorable thanks to Didier Meril and we will gladly recommend it."

"My partner and I arrived on a Sunday after a long drive. The place is amazing and decorated improbably with style and class. Our room was spacious with a beautifully clean shower room and separate toilet. We even had a lounge room as part of our area. The location is perfect in that you could exit the guest house via a private route to the coastal path and walk along the sea front. And, as we did, use the electric bikes for a cycle around Dinard. Breakfast was lovely and very French so croissants, cheese, cured ham etc. All wonderful and very French. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try the evening meals which I believe a great as like most of France, Sundays and Mondays are rest days. This was a shame as we were a bit ‘green’ and didn’t plan for this, however the sea food restaurant recommended instead was wonderful."
