Highly recommended! A rated five-star hotel truly lives up to its name. We arrived quite early and there wasn't a suitable room available, so they immediately upgraded us to a larger room (which was perfectly spacious). All our daily needs were met, and they even offered pear soup at night because Datong's weather is so dry, showing great respect for every guest. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fine in terms of quality (there's a photo of the breakfast knife-cut noodle chef). I also particularly recommend the hotel's Chinese restaurant (there's a photo of us taking food to go for our high-speed train). On our last day, we were rushing from Datong back to Beijing to catch our high-speed train. We misjudged our time at Yingxian Wooden Pagoda and Hanging Temple, but still wanted to enjoy Datong cuisine on the train. We went to the hotel's Chinese restaurant, and the lady who greeted us was incredibly warm and efficient. The chefs were also super impressive, preparing our desired dishes for takeout in just 20 minutes. We made it to the train just in time and enjoyed a fantastic meal on board. I just had to leave a review – our Datong trip was perfect! (There are photos of cats at various attractions).

The hotel is very close to the ancient city, which is rich in history. The meals on the eleventh floor of the hotel are delicious and the service is excellent; the staff are outstanding. The breakfast is delicious, a mix of Chinese and Western styles, and the staff greet you with smiles, truly a five-star standard. Manager Liu from housekeeping has a great attitude, and I won't even mention the rest. In short, this is how five-star standards are achieved – and there's no distinction between people, whether high or low, rich or poor.

A truly memorable hotel experience! The staff were warm and attentive, and the breakfast spread was diverse and delicious. The Chinese restaurant offered great value for money with tasty food and a beautiful, elegant setting. The only downside was that the hotel facilities felt a bit dated, but they were still comfortable.

The hotel's location is great, the service is warm and welcoming, and the hotel itself feels grand. They even offered complimentary welcome fruit, which made it excellent value for money. The breakfast was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant was also fantastic. Plus, it's only about a ten-minute walk to the ancient city.

This is my second stay at this hotel, and it's all because of the superb service. I felt it the moment I parked my car; the older gentleman with glasses was particularly attentive. The front desk lady was warm and welcoming, and the pool staff were also excellent. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant that night, ordered two dishes, and they were delicious and great value for money (see picture). All the servers were very friendly. Everything was perfect, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong.

Overall, the hotel felt clean and hygienic. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, including both Chinese and Western dishes, and didn't miss out on local specialties like 'daoxiaomian' (knife-cut noodles). The location is excellent, very close to the ancient city; just cross the river and you're at the city walls. I'd recommend riding a shared bike into the ancient city for convenience, as it can get crowded and the roads are narrow, making driving less ideal.

The room was incredibly spacious, and since there weren't many guests, they even upgraded our room! We had an amazing view, and the air conditioning was perfectly comfortable. Although the facilities are a bit older, they are very well-maintained. My girlfriend was really happy with our stay too. The service was exceptional; they even put card sleeves on our IDs during check-in, delivered hot water, and provided welcome fruit. The breakfast had a great variety, and the restaurant food was surprisingly delicious! Overall, it was a first-class experience. We'll definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends and family!

The hotel's service is attentive, and it's clear the management has done a great job training their staff. This used to be a luxurious five-star hotel, and while it's a bit older now, it's definitely worth the price. A newly opened Wyndham wouldn't be this affordable. The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious, and the cleanliness is top-notch. It's the perfect choice for anyone visiting Datong.

I stayed for three nights, and this is by far the best value-for-money hotel I've ever experienced. The room was spacious with two bathrooms and even had buckwheat pillows. The hotel is well-located, just a short walk to the ancient city. The Chinese restaurant on the eleventh floor was also fantastic; every dish was delightful, so much so that I ate there for three consecutive days.
