The owner was very nice; he picked us up as soon as we arrived and helped us with our luggage. The atmosphere was relaxed. The lobby is an open-plan kitchen and restaurant; the interior space is simple yet rich. The owner often displays Lala Land vinyl records, including one, as well as various tableware and cups. You can tell the owner loves his guesthouse. The most memorable thing about the room was the light switch – it was quite delicate and retro, although it didn't quite match the overall decor. The floor was a bit creaky, which is a nice touch, though. You can tell the owner likes little trinkets. Overall, it was a good experience; very quiet and comfortable. #Clean and Comfortable# Convenient location; right next to wheat fields and an ancient town scenic area. #Breakfast# A very generous breakfast, and the soy milk was freshly ground – excellent!

This booking was a truly pleasant surprise! The hotel looks even better and cleaner in real life than in the pictures.
The hotel is actually the former property of the 'Dong' family, one of Xizhou's four great merchant families during the Qing Dynasty. It's a typical Bai ethnic 'three-houses-and-a-screen-wall' style building, elegant yet secluded from the bustle. Just a few steps outside, you're greeted by rice fields. Inside the courtyard, every corner is a delight, with each floor thoughtfully arranged. Each room has a slightly different layout, and every floor features a common area like a tea room or calligraphy room, offering a sense of discovery – a truly delightful surprise.
On the day we arrived, the butler picked us up from our drop-off point in an electric tricycle, leading us down an unassuming alley. I never expected to fall in love the moment I stepped into the hotel's courtyard, enchanted by its rustic elegance. It felt like striking gold!
What's even more impressive is how clean the environment is. You can tell that the corridors, courtyard, and even the tableware are meticulously cleaned and maintained. I absolutely adored their afternoon tea; the pastries were delicious, and you could get free refills. Both afternoons, after exploring, we couldn't wait to return to the hotel and have the butler bring us afternoon tea.
The butlers were all local, incredibly hospitable, and their genuine warmth was palpable.
Since we visited during the off-season, they even upgraded our room. Our stay was incredibly comfortable, and I was quite sad to check out. While the price isn't exactly cheap, the overall experience certainly justified the cost. It's a wonderful revitalization of Bai ethnic architecture, truly blending 'culture' and 'travel.' I hope they maintain this quality so more travelers can experience this thoughtful hotel.

The boss and the proprietress are very Nice, there is free water, and sweet and delicious old corn and small fruits. The couple are very good and have questions and answers. July is still a bit hot, many homestays do not have air conditioning, and the room has a cooler. In the evening, the door or window can also cool down, there are mosquitoes, and electric mosquito coils must be used. The location of the homestay is really good, walking can reach the wheat field train, museums, restaurants, farmers' market level, Sifang Street, corner building. The light is very good at 8 o'clock in the morning or 7 o'clock in the evening. Many street shops have not opened. Some people have no tourists. The photos are perfect! Recommend the restaurant near her house. Inside, the Bai snacks of the cans of rice noodles are full and delicious. A few steps out of her alley is ah ma Ying, her thin bean powder and fried dough sticks are also delicious. The shops here can almost be opened at around 9 o'clock, and after 8:30 early, coffee is later. There are also many dinners at 8 o'clock and they will not take orders one after another. Square Street food restaurant is recommended for dinner, home-cooked dishes are delicious.

Came with my friend and the experience was very good! We picked us up by the proprietress on the roadside hahahahaha, it’s not too troublesome to go far, the environment is clean, the hospitality is warm, and I am very comfortable to live in Dali.

Guest UserThe room was decorated with love—the king-size bed was as soft as a marshmallow, and my daughter giggled as soon as she lay down; she adored the crib, and on our first night, she clung to it, saying she wanted to be a ”flower princess.” The smart toilet and humidifier were such thoughtful details; my husband kept saying it felt like staying in a five-star hotel.
The kitchenette in the common area became our ”battleground.” We used ingredients from the fridge to make breakfast for our daughter, but our attempt at frying eggs went awry, leaving the stovetop smoky and greasy. Our daughter, however, clapped her hands and shouted, ”Mommy, you're so great!” which made us both laugh and cry. There was also a stray cat in the courtyard, and my daughter chased after it to feed it. The cat rubbed against her legs and meowed, a picture my husband took and turned into a nine-grid photo on his WeChat Moments.
What touched me most was the housekeeper. Seeing us struggling with our luggage, he offered to help with our suitcases and brought us chilled bottled water. He enthusiastically recommended must-try foods in the ancient town, and even my daughter remembered his name. Just a hundred meters from the ancient town, a five-minute walk to the stone-paved road, our daughter dragged us to ”Adaxia Flower Cake” for three days straight. While eating, she learned to make flower cakes from the old lady, and even begged to become her apprentice.
This trip was made wonderfully by the gentle touch of Huaxi Country Inn, leaving the whole family delighted. When our daughter left, she hugged her crib and cried, saying, ”I want to come back next time!” We've already recommended this ”home in the ancient town” to the whole family, and we'll definitely book in advance for our next family trip!

KapusulaThe inn is a long time away from the ancient town, the room is clean and warm, the store family is very enthusiastic, afraid that we are cold at night and give us a quilt, my children and the store children are not much different in age, the two children set off fireworks together, and they had a good time together. Very good store, I will stay here again if I have a chance.

Guest UserRoom was big and spacious, and as pictured. Loved the huge window that looked out into the courtyard. The place is also stylishly done up and looks quite new, there's a tearoom where you can try all sorts of tea. Was positively surprised by the complimentary afternoon tea served - one big platter of fruits and baba!
However there's one thing I didn't like and hence I won't recommend this place - if you don't like hard beds, this place won't be suitable for you. Found the bed extremely hard, so hard that when I first sat on it I thought I was sitting on a wooden plank. I even flipped over the bed sheet just to check there was a mattress underneath, there was, it's just super duper hard. Never seen a mattress this hard before, I wouldn't even call it a mattress lol. And they put a fairly thick topper on top of it, and it was still uncomfortable. I happened to be alone so I took the duvet from the other bed, folded it into half to make it thicker and slept on it. Was slightly better but still, not a great sleeping experience. It's unfortunate because otherwise, I quite liked the place. Oh and location wise, it's also a distance from the main town centre (20 mins), which can be a little eery when you walk back at night in the dark. The good thing is its near the fields but yeah, away from the main streets in the town.

The room was beautiful, and every detail showed the owner's thoughtful attention to detail and refined aesthetics. The service was meticulous, right down to the tea and even the laundry detergent provided. During the off-season, the owner upgraded me to a room closest to the tree. Old photos of the tree hung on the door and inside the room, a truly beautiful sight. Coincidentally, I had come all along to see the tree. A few years ago, I'd always admire the beautiful flowers on the balcony, and this time, by chance, I stayed here. I'm grateful to have found such a tasteful B&B. I wish the owner many guests, and the tree as your companion.

Very close to the ancient town, but not very noisy, parking is also very convenient, directly to the yard, but when it comes in, the road is a bit narrow to the tires, the room facilities are quite satisfactory, there should be some

Guest UserThe room is fully equipped, the sheets and quilt covers are floral with a light fragrance, it looks super cozy at first glance, the hygiene is good, the windows and mirrors in the room are very clean, and outside the window is the beautiful blue sky, white clouds and green trees, it is very healing to look at! The boss and his family were also very enthusiastic. They helped us carry our luggage upstairs without saying a word, and even took the trouble to provide us with a place to charge our car late at night. It really felt like ”home”. There is a restaurant downstairs (the food is a bit salty, but I find it acceptable and the price is very affordable), but there is no oil on the ground. When I go out in the morning, I can see aunties cleaning the entire courtyard. I sit under the shade of the trees and chat in the breeze while eating. I feel very happy. I will stay here again next time I have the chance! Here is a picture of the scenery outside the window (。・ω・。)ノ♡
