Four Points Hotels in Dali

The west side of Erhai Lake was too crowded, and the ancient city itself presented various inconveniences, with parking and driving being a hassle. Consequently, we opted for a hotel on the south side of Erhai Lake that was closer to the water. The Sheraton was indeed very near the lake, less crowded, and felt very peaceful. While the immediate surroundings weren't particularly bustling or developed, it was genuinely quiet. Stepping out, you're right by the lake, though you had to walk around a bit to get direct access. During the summer, hotel prices in Dali soared, with even a business-oriented hotel like Four Points charging four-figure sums. The hotel service was excellent; our butler, Eric, was consistently helpful in resolving any issues. However, some aspects of the hotel's design were rather unintuitive and frustrating. For instance, not all lights in the room could be controlled individually. The bedside lamps, for example, could only be turned off by switching off all the main lights in the room, which was extremely inconvenient if one person wanted to rest while another needed light in a different part of the room. The breakfast selection was standard, but the taste was just mediocre.
