"What's there to complain about in the canyon? There's no air conditioning, just fans, but the canyon's nighttime temperatures don't really require it. We stayed in the canyon specifically for sunrise and sunset. It's super convenient. We drove for 10 minutes at 5 a.m. to see the sunrise, then came back for a nap and checked out. I highly recommend Angel Lodge, right at the start of the Red Line. Why would I need a bike? I woke up in the middle of the night to a sky full of stars. There was even a very pale Milky Way. Life is worth it."

"The room was dark but at Night the curtains didn’t close all the way, so there was light shining in from the parking lot. There was no bedside lamp – – only a overhead light. Also, no plug next to the bed that you could plug your phone into. I wound up, unplugging the microwave and plugging my phone into an extension cord that the microwave had been plugged into. The bar of soap was just a sliver, and the toilet didn’t flush unless you held the handle down. I came to breakfast at 9 AM and just about everything was gone. The only saving grace for me was this was inexpensive, but I’m learning that you really do get what you pay for."

"The room was clean, simple, and easy to use. The view from the room was towards the parking lot, so it wasn't particularly good, but I was going to climb the Vortex anyway, and I could see great views anywhere just a short walk from the room, so it didn't bother me. I was happy that there was a bathtub. There was a door next to the main room that connected to the next room (it was locked, so it wasn't scary), and the sounds of our kitchens echoed quite a bit through it, so we had to be considerate of each other. Towels, bed making, and trash disposal were done every two days. If you requested trash disposal, they would collect it if you put it outside the room in the morning, regardless of the day."
