Outstanding
BB__WThis hotel was a surprising all-around winner. I had interactions with three staff, and all of them were cheerful, friendly, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and well-supplied, the breakfast was ample, and the property is located near several good eating options. On the first floor, there is a family-friendly play area with two foosball tables and several tables scattered around for groups to hang out and play games. Helpfully, TRU provides a selection of board games and puzzles for groups to enjoy. Additionally, there is a fire-pit on site if people want to enjoy some time around a campfire outside. All in all, this hotel is a winner!
Best thing about this place is the location. Just across the street from Van Andel Arena, and maybe two blocks east of the comedy club that we went to, so both nights, it was a super quick walk ”home”. Had a one bedroom king bed suite. Quite roomy, with a kitchen area, living room, separate bedroom, and modern walk-in shower in the bathroom. Everything worked, everything was clean. Only complaint was that theres no fan in the bathroom, but, alot of hotels have this now, sadly. Parking in the garage across the street is $30/day at the moment, which, in my opinion is a little steep, but, theres a skywalk from the garage into the hotel, so that was nice. More so, in the winter, I'm sure. If in the area again, I'd definitely stay here again. Lots of places to eat within a couple blocks all around this hotel.
WWonder_GirlThis is beautiful Hotel located on beautiful location. Rooms are beautiful and walkable from the River, On the opposite street is a Grand Rapids one of the oldest building and it’s beautiful. There was a little miscommunication during our check-in. We were told that breakfast timing is from 7-10am but when we reached for breakfast at 9:10, they were already closing and cleaning restaurant. There were around 5-7 families who came after 9 for breakfast. But restaurant gave bread, fruits, butter, Jams, Coffee so we had breakfast. Other than everything was perfect.
JJohn & Sarah MeeuwesThe room was spacious and perfect for our little family get-away! Location is great! Staff were friendly and responsive. The pool and hot tub needed better up-keep but we were able to use it. Our room was recently remodeled with new bathroom tub, counters, etc. There was a new heat/air unit that also had a “dry” setting that worked really well to keep the room comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and bedding was clean and soft. We enjoyed our stay very much!
GGuest UserWe were here for just one night with the kiddos. We were going to Michigan Adventure the next day and there weren't a ton of hotels cheaply priced, so we decided to stay in the Grand Rapids area. I wanted a place with a pool, and we were very happy with the pool area. Water was a bit cold, but it had a clean bathroom attached, towels just for the pool and a clean shower in the pool area. For a few kiddos that wanted to swim for a few hours, it was perfect. Oh and the pool was opened late too, which was great. Our kid are up late. It was open only for adults 11-midnight, so who knows what goes on in there from 11-midnight... but being open to 11 for kids helped make the evening much easier when trying to plan a dinner out too. The room was big. Two beds and a couch. Clean and ready when we arrived. I couldn't get the TV to work, it just seemed stuck on HDMI1 with no signal, but I wasn't planning on watching anything anyway. I was just poking around with it. I didn't call for help. Breakfast was good and most important... the breakfast area was very large. No fighting for tables. We slept well and it was exactly what we wanted.
GGuest UserOur visit didn’t start out on a good note. Back in April, when our son decided on this hotel as the one to hold rooms for his wedding, we placed a hold on the conference room to hold the rehearsal dinner. Something kept telling me to call BW to confirm the room. I called before we left on Thursday morning and much to MY SURPRISE the hotel was under new management and the conference room was being used for storage. Let me say NO ONE CALLED ME TO TELL ME WE COULDNT USE THIS ROOM. Now after a very frustrating conversation Marcia figured out a solution and it worked out perfect. Probably better then the conference room. Thank you Marcia! Now onto the room…. We had a suite, thinking this would be helpful with the wedding party and all. Under the amenities it stated there was a coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator. There was a full size refrigerator and that was all. It looked like they had recently removed the microwave because there was still “dirt” on the floor and rug by that area and sink. There was water coming from under the refrigerator, I ended up jut leaving a towel there. The remote for the tv was falling apart, and there was only one. (We had a bedroom, so two TVs). There were no lampshades on the lamps, the water pressure in the bathroom, especially the shower was terrible!! In order to turn on the shower the faucet almost came out of the wall to get it to come on. I know there are renovations being done, but they clearly hadn’t vacuumed our room before arrival. We were allowed to check in early, but these are normal cleaning tasks. On a positive note, the front desk staff was very friendly, helpful and apologetic. I know back in April when the kids picked this hotel, it had four star reviews. Those reviews have gone down since then. I’m pretty sure we had a large majority of the rooms for Thursday and Friday night. Im embarrassed if their rooms were like ours…. We wouldn’t stay at this location again. But will continue to stay at other BWs.
GGuest UserThe rooms are clean the hospitality was amazing. A gentleman name Luke was very accommodating when we needed assistance. Always a smile on his face an ready to help any way he can. Check in was simple rates are amazing an the breakfast is alright. Hot coffee always on. Clean pool area is being kept up. Meet a few people on our stay an overall a nice location an friendly staff. Will be back
DDr CushHotel was good for going to a concert. Pool and hot tub had decent hours. Only complaint was not having coffee or towels re-stocked in the room. The walls were also a bit thin; could hear conversations in the hallway clearly and didn’t feel there was much privacy to be had in the bathroom
JJustin82Lots going on here. Strange setup in the room but not bad. Staff was helpful. Machines were not stocked and the ice machines broken. Overall would probably not frequent this one unless another trip changed my mind or the convenience due to location made it worth the stay. Definitely wouldn't say it's a bad place but there was a lot of questionable activity that even the young woman behind the desk had to keep getting involved in, which she did a very good job of while remaining very pleasant.
