Since I saw a wide range of reviews, I thought I'd share my thoughts on my recent visit as I had been very wary..... Well, it was fine; nothing special but clean, spacious and located well. All staff we encountered were lovely from front desk staff, to housekeeping to breakfast staff! The pool, while small and indoors, was clean and refreshing to take a quick dip into after a hot day walking around Harper's Ferry. For the price and location, we would return again.

I had a fantastic time. The Holiday Inn Express was very clean and had all the amenities one could need for a night or two. I spoke with Kaitlin when I was checking in and she was fabulous.I found her quite helpful and all went well and fast (I was tired) when the paperwork was finished quickly I had Kaitlin to thank for that. When I left the next morning I spoke with Cara who was equally as kind and helpful. I want to thank Holiday Inn for hiring such wonderful and caring employees. Donna N.

My friend who lives in Harpers Ferry has a July celebration every year. It is about 90 minutes from my home so I chose to stay in a hotel overnight because I am tired after the celebration. This year I chose the Days Inn by Wyndham Charles Town/Harpers Ferry because it had a decent price and was relatively close to my friend’s house. I arrived at my friend’s house at 2:45PM to drop off some bar-b-que ribs that I prepared for the gathering and then I promptly went to the Days Inn to check-in. The check in time was 3:00 PM as documented on the confirmation email. There were not any rooms available for check-in. I told the clerk that I did not need access to the room until later in the evening and I asked if she could assign me a room and some keys now. She told me that was no problem and assigned me room 127 anlong with the keys. For context, I have a prosthetic limb and I currently have an iron deficiency issue, which has left me short of breath for even small walks. I am working with my doctors to remedy the problem, otherwise I am still living my normal life with some challenges. I arrive around midnight at the Days Inn after the event. I parked in an available spot, and went to my room, which was located at the far end of the parking lot away from the hotel office. To my dismay, the key they provided did not open the door at room 127. I grabbed my luggage and walked across the entire parking lot to the hotel office. There, I explained to the clerk that my keys did not work. Admittedly, I was tired and annoyed. He shot me mean looks as if I had done something wrong, but then provided new keys to room 127. I left the office and went across the parking lot to the back of the building. I was very tired and short of breath, but happy to finally be able to access my room. The keys did not work. I tried them over and over again, and then I heard voices coming from inside of the room. An older couple started yelling at me through the window. “This is our room!” they yelled. I showed them the key envelope for 127 that the front desk clerk gave me. Exasperated, I then began another walk from the back of the parking lot to the hotel office. I was not happy. This time the hotel clerk met me halfway in the parking lot as I am sure the startled couple called him and reported a man banging on their door. He apologized, and said he would be right back with new room keys. I stood in the parking lot until he returned. He apologized, and then stated that they would provide a discount for my stay for the inconvenience. The room was still in the back of the parking lot. I walked back again and finally got into a room. This morning I went to check out and I wanted to accomplish (2) things: I wanted to recount my experience from last night and check on the discount that the evening clerk said would be provided. I was greeted by an older man. I started to explain what happened last night, but he just cut me off and kept saying,”it

Very Good
7733waynebI booked this Quality Inn as we were visiting nearby Harpers Ferry. The hotel is very easy to find and very close to the NPS site. I pulled in and wasn’t sure we were at the correct hotel. There were no cars in the parking lot, and it didn’t appear to be open. The parking lot is well lit and has plenty of spaces. The front of the hotel is not inviting at all. Plants and furniture from other rooms all inside a window near the front desk gave “abandoned” hotel vibes. The entrance area needs a serious makeover. Had I not already paid, and it was a non-refundable room, just seeing the outside appearance, I likely would have left. My wife waited in the car until I checked the place out and went to our room. Based on the outside appearance and the vibes I got from random dude hanging out in the lobby, I’m glad I’m very much a 2A person. The lobby area wasn’t bad. It seemed clean but nothing award winning. Word of caution, if you have disabilities, there are no elevators, you must climb steps to the second floor. The steps were dirty, and the treads were very narrow. I’m not sure the steps are to code, but hey. Also keep this in mind if you pack heavy. It’s only one flight, but with the narrow tread, you can rest assured, you’ll probably have to man-handle your bag up/down the stairs. Our room was on the second floor and overlooking the parking lot. While the hotel appears to be doing renovations, our room was clean, but the door didn’t give me good security vibes and would likely be easy to shoulder open if someone really wanted inside. The carpet may need some updating, but generally, everything else inside the room was fine. The room was also very quiet overnight. At one point, I did hear some trucks on US-340, but nothing too noisy. Outside our room, for whatever reason, there were two fans and a pile of dirty bath towels. It appeared as if maybe they had been trying to dry the carpet or something. Not sure I would stay here again but overall, other than first impressions, the room was comfortable and worked well for the night.
