I made a temporary arrangement to go there a week before departure. Seeing that this accommodation experience was very different from ordinary hotels, I decided to take a gamble. I am really grateful for my choice! Take the Kono Bus and get off at Shirakawa-go (Ogimachi). Ask the staff at the tourist guide office to call the hotel and someone will drive to pick you up. It is very convenient and safe.
The entire building space is high, the environment is comfortable and there are open window views. The scenery is very beautiful both indoors and outdoors. The service is good and there are few tourists. Bathing in the hot springs, walking in the nearby snow and playing in the snow feel like a private area.
Most of the meals are locally produced and homemade, and the French dinner is very exquisite and delicious😋
Next time I want to come back in autumn and join a hiking group led by a local tour guide!
I recently had the opportunity to stay at an onsen hotel, and I must say, my experience was somewhat disappointing. While the hotel had many appealing features, several aspects fell short of expectations.
Firstly, the hotel's policy requiring guests to walk barefoot or in socks was problematic due to the cleanliness of the floors. The surfaces did not seem well-maintained, which detracted from the overall experience.
I was particularly let down by the private bath. The two only available tubs was filled with bleach, which was concerning and not suitable for relaxation. Additionally, there were no shower facilities provided for rinsing off before or after soaking in the onsen. This made the experience less enjoyable, as I couldn't clean myself immediately before or after enjoying the hot springs.
Furthermore, the reservation system for the private baths was poorly organized. There was no clear queue, leading to confusion and frustration among guests who were waiting their turn.
Overall, the taste of dinner and breakfast was average, but the environment and service was quite good.
Although the hotel offered many attractions and amenities, the execution left much to be desired. Overall, my stay was a case of having high expectations that were not met. I hope the hotel can improve these aspects in the future to provide a better experience for its guests.
I was worried about gokasayama tofu before, but I had no chance to eat, and this time, I was able to enjoy tofu with dinner breakfast, and I was very satisfied with my favorite hoba miso in breakfast. The hot spring is also slowly put in, the joint parking lot in front of you is large, and the largest building in thatched building is in front of you, and there is a road station within walking distance, and I would like to use it again.
The room was clean and beautiful. The food was rich and delicious.
The owner was very welcoming and drove to the tram station to pick us up, which was very helpful. I would like to use it again next time.
The hostel is located approx. 30 mins away from Shirakawa, nice place to stay in warmer season. The shared bathroom located at GF floor and it is quite cold to get there from 1F guestroom. The room is close to the main street, it might not be easy for light sleepers. There are no restaurants nearby, you might need to reserve dinner if you are not driving. The host is nice and space is clean and tidy.
Whenever I come to Gokayama, I am always indebted. Unfortunately, it was raining, and I was happy to welcome Chietsuquin as soon as possible. The inside of the building, including the room, is well-cleaned and clean. Both the open-air hot springs and the hot springs were cut into pieces, and I was able to do it. The food is delicious with local ingredients. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is unstable in the corner room on the 3rd floor, which is good near the door, but it will be disconnected immediately near the TV, improvement. Thank you again.
One parking and two meals, including breakfast and dinner, very traditional Japanese cuisine, barbecue on the first night and Sukiyaki pot on the second night, the hotel also has a natural outdoor hot spring, which can relieve the fatigue of a day of skiing. The Yiliye Ski Resort is great. The hotel is only two minutes away from the ski area, which is very convenient.
At first, we couldn't find the accommodation because the snow blocked the entrance. We got experience in climbing the snow to get to the accommodation. The owner is very cute and provides excellent service. I am very impressed. I would recommend it.
