This Ryokan was perfectly situated: very near the station but not too close. What I loved about this Ryokan was that it was a modern, chic version of an old Japanese Ryokan. My room was light, fresh and spacious. The Ryokan was new, 2 years old, so it had the mod cons whilst being very aware of being eco friendly. As to be expected in Japan it was spotlessly clean and the staff were incredibly attentive. Although not fluent in English, they made every attempt to communicate through Google translate etc. I felt very welcomed here. I highly recommend this Ryokan and would definitely return.

The Nakatsugawa Glamping Morinosora is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Nakatsugawa will find that the Nakatsugawa Glamping Morinosora is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is conveniently located a short 6km drive from JR Mino-Sakamoto Station. The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including 中津川グランピング 森の空, Ryoma Shrine and Minamotosumi Park. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city.
It is a homestay, a typical hot spring resort family hotel, and the conditions of all parties are relatively average. The dinner and breakfast provided are all local ingredients and tastes, which are acceptable. The location is rather biased. It takes a little over 2,000 to rent from Nakatsugawa Station to the shop, and there is no other means of transportation.
Nagataki was perhaps the highlight accom of our whole 2.5 week Japan journey. It cost more than any of our other accommodation but it was worth it as our 2 nights here were so memorable. Our 200 year old traditional house was full of character with a beautiful view and so spacious and with modern bathroom - even had hosted a Japanese Emperor! We read some reviews that said it was cold but with the ample heaters on before we entered every day and hot water bottles delivered each evening for our warm comfy futons, we were so cosy and never cold despite wintery conditions outside. The included food by chef Maseyo was incredible- such skillful traditional sushi and dishes using local unique fruits, vegetables and fish and so ample (7-10 courses each breakfast and dinner!). And he created amazing creative vegetarian alternatives for me while my partner ate the full range and we both loved every dish - and the warm sake! Maseyo speaks excellent english and is descended from a long family line running this historical Ryokan hundreds of years. The woman who brought us most of our meals and helped show us how to wear our yukatas (belted up with a resounding “CHOTO!!”) was so lovely and had a great sense of humour. Such warm and genuine hospitality. We had the onsen set in the beautiful grounds and facing the forest all to ourselves and that was such an unmissable relaxing treat every morning. We could have happily stayed reading and relaxing in our room and soaking in the onsen the whole time, but we also really loved exploring the surrounding area with drop off and pick up to the train station by the accommodation and great suggestions for what to see from Maseyo. Perfect authentic place to begin (or end) walking the Nakasendo trail. We definitely will go back one day!
Business hotel chain along line 19 in Tegano, Nakatsugawa City Parking, Wifi and breakfast are free, I booked via agoda this time, but 6510 yen is a convincing price. Breakfast has a lot of items, but the open 6 From half hour to 30 minutes was quite crowded, and it was a procession of more than 10 people at the entrance, and after 7 o'clock, there was a margin. The public bath is small compared to the hot spring inn, but it was early this time, so I was able to take nonbilly fatigue because it was alone. The room is small, but it is average as a business hotel of this scale, it was good to see WOWOW.
It looks like a privately run hotel that was originally a public lodging facility. Therefore, for an inn in the countryside, it is spacious with a large public space. The interior is a little tired, but it's clean and I think it's a reasonable line considering the price. There are various types of rooms such as Japanese-style rooms, twins, singles (doubles), and glamping. [Rooms] The rooms are basically facing the river, but there are some rooms without a view where the river cannot be seen due to the roof. Even though it's called a river, it's just a normal river, and the mountains that can be seen over there are also normal mountains, so I don't think it's worth worrying too much about the view. Specifically, it is best to call the hotel to confirm. Please tell the front desk sincerely. I was traveling alone, so it was a single room on the 4th floor, but it was close to the elevator and had a view. [Bath] The single room had a unit bath, but I used the hot spring bath exclusively. I was very satisfied with the large dressing room, the open-air bath, and the quality of the hot springs. Guests can also use the adjacent day-trip hot spring facility, so I wonder if everyone will go there, and the hotel's public bath was always reserved for me alone (I stayed for 4 nights...). [Breakfast] I was worried about corona, so I used a plan that offers room service of Japanese bento. It was 6500 yen for one night with breakfast, so it was a little shabby Japanese bento for the price, but it was enough for me with a small meal. If you don't really care about corona measures, I think you should choose breakfast at a regular restaurant. [Access] There is a free shuttle bus from JR Nakatsugawa Station. If you combine it with a local bus (the bus stop is a 5-minute walk from the hotel), you will have no trouble sightseeing in the surrounding area even if you are traveling on foot. Magome-juku is a 7-minute bus ride.

The Nakayama Ancient Road is one of the five major transportation routes developed in Japan during the Edo period. Connecting Nihonbashi in Edo (now Tokyo) and Sanjo Street in Kyoto. This ancient road is also called "Nakasendo", "Nakasendo", "Kiso Street", and "Kuzo Road". The total length is 507.7 km, spanning Tokyo, Saitama Prefecture, Gunma Prefecture, Nagano Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, Shiga Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture. There are 67 sleeping quarters (called inns in Chinese) in the middle. Among them, Naarai-juku, Tsumago-juku, Magome-juku, Akei-juku, and Kusatsu-juku are the most popular inns. I went to Narai-juku a few years ago, and this time I specially came to Magome-juku. Although the weather was unfavorable and it was raining, it did not affect the interest in traveling. Walking on the ancient streets felt like returning to the distant ancient times. Here are six photos for your reference.
