"Gorgeous place with beautiful rooms and an amazing and super big common area, with 3 different spots for sitting and chatting. Even a Japanese style magnificent fireplace and a bar. The staff is very friendly and well organized. The rooms themselves are nicely Japanese style rooms and super well equipped! Overall very relaxing!"

"Wife and I traveling from the USA. We found this place to be ideal for a pre and post Nakasendo trail hike (although the trail itself was not that special). The staff was friendly and spoke English well enough. The on-site onsen (separate sexes) was clean and perfect for after a hard day’s hiking.
Breakfast was fun and a bit of a hurdle if you’ve not had Japanese-style breakfasts.
Hotel decor seemed straight out of the 1960s, but it found it charming.
One suggestion for hotel: list the times of the free shuttles from the train station more prominently on your website."

"Hotel conveniently located along the Nakasendo trail close to historical machiya within Nakatsugawa and now too far from the train station. Bus stop to Magome 5 is minutes away. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Great overall hotel and neighborhood atmosphere for both the packpackers and regular travelers.
Great hotel, very clean and contemporary, great design. Great amenities such as the public bath and eating area. Great buffet breakfast every morning, mostly japanese food that we enjoyed but also with croissants and chocolatines. Friendly and dynamic young staff. The only downside : the smoking room on the second floor (where our room was) that we could smell from the corridor and had to pass by everytime we used the elevator...
Nice family room that we used as a couple. Bunk beds to japanese standards, so walking underneath required bowing each time in my case."

The email communication for shuttle car pick-up arrangement was efficient!
Staff are very friendly, especially Takako-san!
The room is quite standard as a ryokan style...spacious and the ”window” faces the pond and the tree which is pretty nice!
The food is fantastic (dinner set includes Hida-gyu)!
The variety of onsen was great! I particularly like the outdoor onsen (covered)!
There is a little theatre and I wish I had the time to see the show....

GGuest UserI booked for one. Finally, it was possible to open the window and let in fresh air, not air-conditioned, like in previous hotels. The breakfast is terrible. Lots, but everything is tasteless. Maybe I should have used sauces, but there is no information in English. There is English-speaking staff. Very polite and willing to help. The hotel is visible from any point, as it towers over all the houses. There is a great cafe, shops and places for walking nearby. I paid about 2500 yen for a decent, delicious, delicious dinner with dessert.
