Have you ever toured a historic home and wondered what it would be like to stay there? Well this is it. Built in 1690, and still run by 13 generations of family, you may see some wear and tear, but you will also be treated to 13 generations of hospitality (they're currently training the 14th generation). Obviously, not much is original to 1690, but you can see each generations upgrades through the years. I was amused by the early 1970s Japanese bathrooms and lighting and hope they keep it, it's just as much apart of history as the rest of it. After a long day of travel, to get here, we ate a great sushi dinner near by and came back, showered and put on kimonos in this room, well it turned into a total photo shoot, because the room is that cool. Slept great on the mats and woke up and had coffee delivered to the room to while looking at the gardens. We loved it so much, we wanted to stay another night. But they were sold out. This is when Seiichiro, the owner really made a difference. He called someone during an almost sold out weekend and got us another room. We were sad to leave, but will never forget his kindness. Before we left Seiichiro took us on a tour of the hotel to show us the artwork and amazing craftsmanship in the oldest parts of the hotel. This was truly a highlight of entire time in Japan.
From arrival to departure we were treated with kindness and warmth. The staff, ever helpful, gave space and privacy that cultivated a truly rejuvenating experience. Nestled at the end of a beautifully curated peninsula, it’s not an understatement to call Shourotei an oasis in one of Japans already top 3 most beautiful areas. The bathroom and sliding doors allowed for a private and intimate experience, to bathe and hear the ocean lapping outside. The food was delicious and filling. The breakfast specifically was a wonderful start to the day. The large baths immaculately clean, and beautiful in their presentation, allowed for a traditional onsen experience. Modern luxuries, like A/C, stocked refrigerator, and nespresso coffee maker were provided and complimented the overall subtle elegance from this space. We fully plan to visit and book this ryokan again. A truly wonderful, and unforgettable experience.
The hotel is situated on a hill, approximately ten minutes' walk from the main road. If you arrive late at night, it is recommended that you buy groceries at the supermarket on the main road (the kitchen can be loaned so you can cook yourself). This Japanese-style hostel has a bathroom with a capacity of four people and one private shower. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Oh and there’s also wifi available in the premises. Even though he doesn't speak English, the host is very friendly. The only drawback is the smelly toilet; everything else is highly recommended.
Hotel location is very good, soaking in the hot springs, you can see the whole picture of the overpass. The hotel is on the mountain and can hear a lot of insects at night. 😁 occasionally small bugs fly in the evening. Dinner is Japanese, breakfast can choose Japanese and Western.
Great care is taken to ensure guests experience comfort through top-notch services and amenities.Stay connected with your associates, as complimentary Wi-Fi is available during your entire visit. When arriving by car, take advantage of the hotel's convenient on-site parking facilities. To ensure a pleasant stay, a selection of rooms at hotel come furnished with linen service and air conditioning, all designed with your ease in mind.In select rooms, visitors can enjoy a touch of amusement with the availability of television and cable TV for their entertainment needs. Within specific rooms, a refrigerator and instant tea is conveniently available for your use.Understanding the significance of bathroom facilities in enhancing visitor contentment, hotel offers a hair dryer, toiletries and towels within a few chosen chambers.
Although the location is not convenient, the B&B has a beautiful view. Looking at the sea view and listening to the sound of the waves, the facilities of the B&B are also very good. The food in the restaurant was also very good, all in all, very good.
Holiday with family, fixed garden view room, 7-8 minutes walk from Miyazu station, convenient transportation, good environment, spacious room, complete facilities, good service, and the dishes are super good, it is worth recommending to everyone
First of all, the location of the hotel is excellent. It is very close to the Amanohashidate Cable Car and Chionji Temple. It is not far from the station and can be reached by walking. Guests can have free parking space, which is very considerate.
The hotel service staff are friendly and professional. Except for the fact that I have to carry my luggage a little bit when staying on the second floor, it is really impeccable and highly recommended.
The dinner part was amberjack hotpot, which we ate in the room, while the breakfast was Japanese-style and we went to the dining area downstairs. Both meals were great!!
Our whole family likes it very much~
We booked a Japanese family room and we arrived about 6:00 pm. Our room was on 3rd floor, when the lift door opens, a strong fishy smell. The corridor were not air conditioned and it was hot. Our room is at the corner, had a stale atmosphere. It still summer and weather is incredibly hot, it would be helpful if the staff had prepared the room and cool it before we arrived. AC is not working well, the room was still not cool when we slept. We could not rest well. The mattress & bedding were not comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Overall it’s not worth a night for SGD423.

Outstanding
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Miyazu Station, about 3 km to Amanohashidate, and about 10 minutes on foot to the only convenience store in Miyazu city center. The surrounding environment of this hotel may give the impression that it is difficult to use the hotel, but perhaps that is why the area is quiet on weekdays and holidays, and there are no guests who chat loudly, making the hotel a very comfortable place to stay. The hotel staff is also uniformly courteous and friendly, but they don't treat you in a way that puts more distance between you and them than is necessary. From the lobby to the guest rooms, it goes without saying that cleanliness is maintained, and the facilities and amenities are well organized without being wasteful. There are a few minor issues: the sensor to hold the card key when entering the room is confusing, the electrical system in the room is a bit confusing (the switch at the entrance seems to turn the entire electrical system on and off), and the bathroom is shower only with no bathtub (and there is no large bath). Other than that, everything else is perfect. In addition to the meeting area, there is a common kitchen-like area in the lobby on the first floor (with a sink, but no actual cooking) where coffee and other beverages are served to guests free of charge (all free of charge). The hotel has a large parking lot, probably because most guests use the hotel by car, and there is an express bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient to use the hotel by express bus from Kyoto and other cities. There are several restaurants in the area, but as mentioned above, a convenience store is located somewhat farther away from the hotel. On the other hand, there is a shopping mall just north of the hotel (about a 2 to 3 minute walk), so it's not particularly inconvenient to procure food. Although the surrounding environment is a little difficult, the hotel itself is excellent, and I would like to use this hotel again and again.
GGuest UserHardly review here but this is worth recommending: for the location, very near (within 2 minutes) to the ferry terminal to see 升龍! within 2 minutes walk to go to the cable car station at 飛龍! if you drive, parking is free! Hotel very new! It is by the canal. Service is marvellous! And the onsen is fantastic! Just that I am not sure about the onsen water is certified… no information in the public bath there. But the spa facilities are fantastic!
KKBSCHANGreat hotel with very good service, all staffs are very nice. The tatami room, restaurant and even common area with great traditional Japanese decorations are all very clean. We love the room with bridge and river view which is so beautiful during sunny weather. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location along the ASO Sea and access from the station is also very good. It is also attractive to relax in the room, but it is also a hand to stay in the day bath and the reasonable Auberge Amanohashidate near the large bath, which draws one of the features of the natural hot spring. (Although it is a hotel subject to shareholder preferential treatment in Samti, you need 3 sheets per person (but with half board). On the other hand, if it is an Auberge, you can stay with one sheet per person) The open-air bath with a panoramic view of Amanohashidate was good.
WWAI YIThe owner and his wife are nice and the service is good and the breakfast is delicious. The hot spring is in the store. I stayed for one night and soaked twice. The two soups are different in the morning and evening. The indoors are soaked in the sea. The surrounding environment of the hotel is good.
GGuest UserYou can hunt for cherry blossoms! Morning and night Viking (perfect for me of partial food) I chose this for hot springs and these reasons. After going to Amanbashi Tachi, I made a cherry blossom hunt (reservation in advance) and checked in. The house is Rokudo, and our house is the same as another pair, but the cherry blossoms are in the cherry blossoms. cherry blossoms are sweet (laughs) It is good that the parking lot is large and affordable. The hotel is quite gorgeous and has a good management everywhere. The room is clean and large and I am very satisfied with the view of Amabashidate and the sea. Vikings were privately preferred in the morning than at night. The bath and the open-air bath were large and the staff were kind.
GGuest UserVery authentic & traditional experience appeared all other guests were Japanese. loved the onsen experience and a fabulous emersión into Japanese culture. Location was great easy bus ride to local town & fishing village of Ine. Fabulous little intimate restaurant 2 min walk. On the down side little hard to find and would be very difficult at night. Staff only spoke Japanese & we’re not very friendly despite our best efforts to speak Japanese and make things a little easier with google translate. Price was very reasonable. Overall would recommend if you’re looking for a traditional family home style experience.
LLaobingxinzhuanA Zhenger Bajing Japanese-style hotel, take off your shoes at the entrance of the building, go up and down the stairs barefoot, the rooms are very clean inside and outside, public toilets, there is a soup pool, and you need to pay 150 yen hot spring tax for bathing. Breakfast is pure Japanese, no problem with eating. Take the Danhai bus from Egan or overpass, Xishangchuan, walk 200 meters to reach.
GGreenyly📍 Location: within a 10-minute walk from the JR Station of the Tanhou Peninsula in the north of Kyoto Prefecture, it is convenient for tourists who want to go to Egan but can't book the boat house. There is a bus stop downstairs in the hotel, so you need to be optimistic about the time to take the bus directly to Egan boat house.
🏨 Hotel facilities: Although there is a certain sense of age, the whole is clean and tidy. The Japanese-style deluxe sea view room has a large balcony facing the sea. The indoor area is more than enough. It is very comfortable to sleep on tatami mats.
GGuest UserAs for the facilities in the room, you can't expect much since it's a historical inn. The communal bath also gives a sense of age. There is no problem with sweating, but I would like to see the dressing room with a frosted glass door covered with a noren curtain that can be seen from the outside. However, the food outweighs the negatives. Perhaps because it has a restaurant/café, you can feel that the main thing at this inn is the food. There is a supermarket right next door so you can go for some shopping, which is a plus. The inn had good access to surrounding sightseeing spots, and overall I was satisfied with the inn.
