"Very cozy little hotel, run by a Chinese couple, very friendly and welcoming.
I studied here, came here for a holiday, and settled on this hotel. Although I feel that the house is more chronological, the real number is very well preserved, the decoration is exquisite, clean and tidy, and the details are great.
It is only 5 minutes walk from the train station. The town is not big. It is also very convenient to go to other towns on foot or by bus.
I booked a single room, the decoration made people feel comfortable and warm, and the hygiene was great.
I must call for breakfast. I have been in the UK for a month. This is the best meal I have ever moved.
Overall highly recommended"

"The feeling of an English country villa is very cozy. When traveling with a family, we thought that three people would squeeze into one bed, but when we came back, we found that the service staff had put up a folding bed. The service staff was very nice. If there was no service staff after 7pm, you could call if you needed anything, and enter and exit the hotel by yourself with the key. The restaurant is warm and clean, the service is good, and the dishes are also rich. It has its own independent parking lot. I will recommend it to my friends."
"The location and hygiene of this hotel is okay, except that the carpets don't seem to have been cleaned for a long time.
I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a ******, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted. The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved."
"Room facilities are good, breakfast is good to choose, the bathtub has massage function. The location is still a short distance from the station. It is a rainy season, so it is a little troublesome. It is almost impossible to take a taxi."
"Great hotel, clean and comfortable! The towel rack in the bathroom is heated, very comfortable. Self-service check-in, the room code will be sent to the email on the day of check-in. The whole hotel is quiet, the parking lot is sufficient, and the two-bedroom we booked is very suitable for a family of three."
"I stayed in six hotels or B&Bs during this trip to the UK, and this one was the most satisfactory. The location is very convenient, the room facilities are very complete, the layout is very warm, and the breakfast is also very good."
"I booked a room for 3 people, on the top floor, the room size is okay, there is room for luggage. The facilities are new and the mattresses are comfortable. The landlord is very enthusiastic, and my son chatted with him very happily. I must give him a good comment. Breakfast is also very good, with a set of bread, bacon, omelette per person, yogurt and fruit buffet. The hotel is located in the middle of the railway station and the pier, and there is a 599 bus stop at the door. When I arrived, I felt that it was a long way from the train station, but after getting familiar with it, I thought it was okay."
"#完美服务# #绝佳位置# #房清洁# #fully equipped# #环境超好# Steve and Victora are very hospitable, the rooms are clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, close to the lake area, they have a full range of traditional English breakfasts, and the taste is very good, highly recommended!"

Rrockylee1. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. There are many restaurants nearby and the accommodation is very convenient. The room is large and there is a living room, unexpected, but the living room side is on the bedside, next to the street, sooner or later, some noisy, especially the UK speed is generally faster, pay attention to it. Breakfast is prepared in advance bread yogurt cereal milk, some in the refrigerator, some in the locker, do not have too much expectations.
2. If you come by car, you will need a parking card with the front desk, which costs £3 a day. There are unlimited parking. There are several places to park. It is actually very convenient. When you leave, you can go to the parking lot to drive first, and put the key and parking card at the front desk when you come back.
GGlynMy wife and I stayed at Burn How for 4 nights. Immediately we found the staff most welcoming and friendly. The pleasant atmosphere was maintained at breakfast throughout our stay. The spacious room- with everything you might need- was part of a block of chalets set romantically amongst some beautiful trees. If we return to Bowness we will look no further than Burn How for accommodation.

AAnonymous UserWe booked a family room, the service staff was very friendly, helped us carry our luggage to the room and introduced it. The child was very satisfied with the room, clean, tidy and warm! It was a great experience!
AAmy’s TravelsI’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break.
AAnonymous UserThe environment is excellent. It is the most beautiful among the small towns. The hotel is also quite historic. However, the service of the restaurant is really different from one waiter to another. I don't know if it is for Chinese people or what. There was a blonde who was very unpleasant in terms of attitude and ordering. Some were very nice.
GGuest UserRoom was a good size. Plenty of parking available. Swimming pool was nice. Nice view of the lake from the gardens. Very friendly staff. Lovely food. Pleasant gardens. The lounge was relaxing with nice sofa .
Some minor issues:
Lack of shower pressure , toilet wouldn't flush properly, blood stain on the floor of the toilet, took ages to get hot water through for showering
GGuest UserThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.
KK1R4N_2024The hotel was hospitable with very friendly staff however location wise it was quite far from the places I wantes to visit however it was close by to the town centre with many halal restaurant suchs as lake raj. Overall it was a pleasant stay!!!
PPeelyWonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog!
Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price.
We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners.
All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful.
We will be back!
