Second time staying here, last stay was 2016, so I have the previous to give my honest and humble opinion on the good and bad points :). 1 week all inc stay (like previous), myself/wife/daughter and my mate/wife/daughter, kids aged 1 & 3. Reception and check in was pretty efficient, hotel facilitated my request of a pool view and being close to the party I was with which was good, 2nd floor pool view rooms. Bands were new, they now have a barcode which gets scanned after every order, apart from lunch/breakfast/dinner (didn’t mind this system, means they knew who had paid for all inc and who hadn’t, fair enough) First bad point - token system, this is ridiculous I’m sorry to say, you need to hand over your tokens when your order a drink, you then get given cups, you cannot misplace these cups or they will not give you a drink or a token back. When your finished ordering to go and do something else outside the hotel you need to take your cups back to get the tokens, these are small wooden tokens no bigger than a 10 pence. Alongside this you are given a bit of paper on check in, which you must keep with you if you want to be allowed in for lunch / breakfast / dinner. When you have kids, and you have a million things to remember, carrying wooden tokens around and a small bit of paper is very backwards and not ideal. I forgot my tokens one evening (were in another pair of shorts pockets) and the guy at the bar refused my drink, I asked him what he expects me to do, amazingly he said I had to pay 50 cents for a token!!!!! 😄😄. This whole system seriously needs reviewed, treating adults like children, having your band scanned should be adequate. It was far better in my first visit in 2016. Part of me thinks it’s because they do not want to pick up cups anymore around the pool. Next point is on staff - reception were friendly and helpful, safe was 25 euro for a week, ours didn’t work and they sent maintenance up immediately to fix. Restaurant staff were great, paco at door remembered us and high fived my daughter every morning. Bar staff - dreadful (sorry to be harsh) but their attitude was honking, the lady with black hair just slammed drinks down, never said a word, the other older gentleman was one of the rudest people I have ever met, Mabey he should pack it in if he’s that miserable 👍. The other gentleman charged me for the token as mentioned above, laughable, I couldn’t even be bothered complaining. Me and the mrs remember this being far better last time. Entertainment was inside which we found very disappointing, I’m not sure if this was a seasonal thing as our week was first week in sept; but it really let it down. Last time it was outside it was brilliant. So just bare that in mind if your going sept. It made it very crowded and my wee girl felt a bit to uncomfortable with the noise and the amount of people. The pool area had undergone a bit revamp since my last time and it’s vastly improved, kids area was good with the addition

We were a bit aprehensive about holidaying here after reading all the mixed reviews. It was a last minute deal at this 3* Hotel. It's 20 minutes from the airport and that was on a coach transfer. The welcome from the Reception Staff was very warm and efficient. The lifts were both working whilst we were there but they were both a bit slow in arriving. We were only on the 3rd floor so we did walk up and down most days. The room had 2 double beds and was very clean. The room was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels. The meals were of a good standard and there was always a large variety to choose from. We did hear people complain about the food,but really couldn't understand why as we never found anything wrong. At breakfast the chef was on hand to make omlettes and cook fresh eggs. There were cereals,fruit juice,full cooked breakfast, cheeses, meats,breads,croissants etc. At lunchtime they would cook burgers,steak or sausage and of an evening they would cook steak and chicken. There was always a pasta dish, chips, salad, fresh cooked baguettes and a selection of cooked meats. (See photos) The pool was absolutely freezing but perhaps that was just due to it being October. The entertainment staff were coming to the end of their season but still did a great job. Simon was really friendly and took time out during the day to sit and chat with people. The Jet 2 Rep Phillip was brilliant and very knowledgeable on the area. He gave us plenty of tips even though we didn't book any trips with him. The bar staff were brilliant. Juan was so friendly and went out of his way to help people who wanted to improve their Spanish. He made such an effort with his Fancy Dress costumes all week as they were celebrating Halloween. If you like wine the ones they serve are of a good quality . The rooftop bar was closed due to it being so.late in the eason,but both the jacuzzis were on and the sunbeds,chairs and tables were out for use. The views from the rooftop terrace are beautiful. The terrace itself looked like it had recently been updated . I liked the fact that the pool area didn't open until 10am as that stopped people putting towels on the sunbeds then going out for the day. There were plenty of sunbeds out and several more stacked at the side if needed. We never struggled to get a sunbed in the sun. The temperatures were up to 27° some days and that was mid October. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance and the main town is a 10 minute walk which you can do along the shore line walkway. We wouldn't hesitate to return and would describe the hotel as being top end of its 3 stars.

Our family visited Salou in August and stayed in 2 apartments in Ona Suites. The apartments were clean and functional . Housekeeping came in during week to change towels and general tidy. Pool was very clean with life guard on duty all day. You can rent sunbeds for a small charge , would be good if there were umbrellas to rent too (might be something to consider) . The reception staff especially Aya was friendly and professional . Arranged late check out for a small fee as our flight was evening time . Close to beach and all the shops and supermarkets. Great location , clean , friendly reception staff . Will definitely be back .

We read all the reviews before we went and they didnt let us down. Hotel was the best weve ever stayed in. All inclusive option was great. Food and drinks were great. Tip get plana bus card for easy access to beach in salou. Tarragona on cambrils. Ticket is about 1.20 per journey. Dont bother reading the reviews, the hotel is fantastic. We will definitely go back next year. Spa was great. We had california full body massage. It was great. Recommend booking it when you arrive.

As a family of 4 we stayed at ibersol apartments salou because it was cheap, open in February and near portaventura parks, u really get what u pay for here so if ur fussy do not book this hotel ,cheap accomadation, very basic, old and run down inside, dont undrstand why guests have to pay a 100 deposit as the rooms are already in a bad state,i have stayed in much better places and never had to give a deposit. I took pictures of repairs needed to show reception staff what the room was like when we entered it ,they too did not understand why guests were asked to pay 100 deposit either as apartments are already in need of such repair,shower door even fell off while using the shower, home over 2 weeks now and have not received our deposit back,i will make an enquiry today, double bed was so hard i cant describe it,my back was in bits. Seems like some of the apartments have full time resisdents,alot of men seem to reside here, coming and going all times of day and night.i would not come back here but i did know what to expext as i had read alot of reviews similar to mine before i booked and as it was so cheap we decided to stay.Despite all this great heating system,apartments were nice n warm which is needed in february. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, they should recieve praise from managment for this.

I chose this hotel which is (advertised as) a 4-star superior. Lovely room with a pool view. But ... NO kettle or tea/coffee-making facilities. Big oversight. Balcony has DECK CHAIRS - not good if you have back or mobility issues. A point off for these issues. Wi-fi? Don't bet on it. Erratic to say the very least. And if you're searching for an English channel or two on the telly (maybe you're missing your Corrie!) forget it. Sky News and that's it. Germans and French well-catered for, however. Lose another point. I cannot comment on the food as I was room only.

Spent 4 nights in this hotel in July with a friend and cannot recommend it enough. Lovely welcome from the staff on arrival (including a glass of Cava) and they were very helpful in advice and suggestions on the local area. The rooms were clean, spacious and perfect for our stay. The pool itself is small enough but lots of beds and umbrellas in a lovely setting including a pool bar. Free still and sparkling water from the bar. As a mum of 4 kids, I have to say, it was really nice being somewhere that was adults only. We were half board and so had our breakfast and either lunch/dinner in the hotel. A lovely selection of fresh food, both pre-prepared and cooked on the spot. The options changed every day as well. There was entertainment every night in the hotel, most of it downstairs , plenty of space and a nice atmosphere. Some of the nights there's also entertainment up on the Rooftop Terrace. It's about a 2 minute walk from a beautiful sandy beach in La Pineda. There's shops and restaurants, and just a few bars in La Pineda. It's a quieter spot, so if you're looking for more of a club/nightlife vibe, then Salou is probably a better option. Salou is a 15 minute bus journey away, much busier and definitely more crowded. Thank you for a lovely stay, I really hope to go back sometime.
