"The hotel we booked this time is a century-old building near Harbin Station, making it very convenient for commuting by subway. This two-story building, once the hotel of the Middle East Railway Bureau, may seem unassuming from the outside, but it's truly remarkable. The interior features classic Russian architecture, with antique revolving doors and a spacious staircase, solid wood wall panels in the hallways and rooms, a high vaulted ceiling in the restaurant, and an old fireplace in the lobby—everything reflects its former glory. I absolutely loved it!
The service was warm and attentive, the room was well-equipped, and the breakfast was a set meal. It was clean, simple, and adequate, and it was a great value for money."

MM18439****The hotel's exterior isn't particularly eye-catching, but stepping through the main doors, I was stunned by the opulent lobby. It's not a flashy, nouveau riche kind of luxury, but one rich in history and art, filled with antiques and artworks. After checking in, staff offer a tour of the hotel, explaining its history and showcasing the art pieces. You can even experience the 125-year-old elevator.
**Room Amenities:** Despite being in a century-old building, the hotel's facilities are far from outdated. The room was impeccably clean, with not a single neglected corner, even in the bathroom. The decor had a distinctly European aristocratic flair. The walls and cabinets were fabric-covered, the drawers lined with velvet, the flooring felt luxurious, and there were no noticeable stains on the carpet, showing the hotel's dedication to maintenance. The ceiling featured embossed decorations, complemented by warm lighting, creating a wonderful ambiance. The bathroom was spacious, with both a bathtub and a shower, a smart toilet, and the toilet was conveniently placed.
**Location & Transport:** Right next to Central Street, it's convenient for shopping yet completely free from noise.
**Restaurant:** Breakfast is served in the basement, which has been converted from a wine cellar. The meal options include both Chinese and Western cuisine, plus live cooking stations (noodles 🍜, rice noodles, wontons, steak 🥩, fried eggs 🍳, etc.).
**Service:** From the reception and housekeeping to the restaurant staff, everyone offered service with a smile. They were very responsive to guests' needs, indicating excellent staff training. Fresh fruit and bottled water were provided daily in the room. Even scattered clothes were neatly folded.
**Experience the 125-Year-Old Russian Aristocratic Elevator:** This 125-year-old elevator operates incredibly smoothly and quietly!
**Grand Duke Elegant Double Afternoon Tea:** The afternoon tea, included with the room booking, was enjoyed in the hotel's Western restaurant. Though complimentary, it was far from a mere token gesture – a three-tiered dessert stand ➕ a pot of drinks ➕ fruit. We were so full we couldn't even manage dinner afterward. The restaurant and the afternoon tea spread were also perfect for photos.
**Value for Money:** Definitely worth experiencing!

YYburnnavoyagesMy friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Grand Mercure hotel in Harbin, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we entered, I was struck by the spotlessly clean surroundings and the comfortable feeling that enveloped us. The high ceiling added a touch of grandeur to the ambiance, making it feel a luxury 5-star accommodation, all at a budget-friendly price.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the comfortable bed and fresh linens. I had the best sleep and woke up feeling refreshed, as if I had slept like a baby. The attention to detail in ensuring a comfortable sleep experience was truly commendable.
The hotel staff deserves special mention for their exceptional service. Despite some language barriers, they went above and beyond to assist me with anything I needed and provide accurate information. I vividly remember ALAN CHEN or Chan, although I'm unsure of the exact spelling of his name. He was always attentive to our concerns and questions, taking the time to communicate and ensure we received the correct directions. Their dedication and willingness to assist made a lasting impression on me.
In terms of location, the hotel was conveniently located near a bus stop, making it easily accessible from the airport which is around 45mins or less.
The ride took less than 10 minutes to reach the high-speed railway station from the hotel. However, I must mention that there weren't many convenient shops in the immediate vicinity, which might be a minor inconvenience for some travelers.
Our only issue during our stay was the room temperature, which was quite warm. Despite adjusting the thermostat, we couldn't achieve a comfortable coolness. We resorted to opening the window slightly to let in some fresh air, but leaving it open throughout the night posed the risk of catching a cold. It would be highly beneficial if the hotel could consider providing a humidifier, as the air in the room felt excessively dry.
Overall, my stay at this hotel was truly amazing. The cleanliness of the hotel, the exceptional staff, and the convenient location all contributed to a memorable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Harbin and would absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit. The management may want to look into improving the room temperature control and addressing the dryness in the air to ensure an even more pleasant stay for future guests.

AAnonymous UserI brought my 8-year-old child to Harbin for a few days. To ensure comfortable sleep, I specifically chose a twin room, which would allow my child to sleep separately (with beds at least 1.35 meters wide). After much careful consideration, I selected Liyi Hotel. Its location is indeed excellent; Central Street is just a short walk to the right from the entrance, making shopping very convenient. Complimentary bottled water is available for unlimited taking right by the check-in desk. Evening congee service starts at 8 PM, offering congee, side dishes, red sausage, and watermelon, which is a nice addition to the evening meal options.
Now for the downsides. We opted for a family twin room. Within two minutes of entering, I found a bug by the bed – it resembled a cockroach but moved slower. I quickly squashed it. While crouching down, I also noticed some fine hairs, which immediately disgusted me. When making the bed for my child, I discovered brownish-red, unwashed bloodstains on both the duvet cover and the bedsheet. 😱 Pulling back the curtains, there was not only no view but it also felt like a derelict construction site. The absolute worst part was that construction started just after 5 AM, with incessant banging and drilling noises. The entire family was up by 6 AM. We went to the front desk to request a room change, only to be told that their repeated calls to the police had been ineffective, and that guests should call the police themselves... Absolutely outrageous! The breakfast selection was average, with largely the same items every day. The lack of fruit was a definite minus; this is quite unacceptable, especially considering our room rate was nearly 900, possibly even 1000 RMB for two nights. At least they offered freshly brewed coffee, which was a small consolation.
The above reflects the actual situation; I'm merely providing a heads-up for future guests.

AAnonymous UserAfter a long search online, I decided on this hotel. Its location right next to Central Street is incredibly convenient. Getting to the subway through the nearby park is also pretty close. And for an early morning flight the next day, getting a taxi was very easy.
The hotel staff were excellent. I couldn't find a twin room online, so I booked two king rooms. After speaking with the front desk, they upgraded me to a twin room.
The only minor issue was a slight odor in the bathroom, but when I asked my travel companions, they said their rooms didn't have that problem. So it might just have been a rare occurrence in my specific room.

SStacy SohAfter taking 5 hours Journey on a 40 seater public bus that cost me 100 yuan i arrived at a beautiful homestay run by family, the homestay is the 1st at the entrance of the village.
Room is comfortable with huge bed and heated bed and floor, eventhou the bed is just a thin mattress (its call a Kang Bed) but i still can sleep soundly every night. Only things need to change is the toilet because our toilet bowl is right at the center so i cant shower or use the basin (no space to stand)😀
They provide toothbrush and disposable face towel only so you have to bring your own towel and toiletries.
Restaurant, reception counter and living room are together, this is a place for the owner and all guests to have meal and gathering. You will see them all day at the living room. We also have some activities such as making tanghulu (fruits coated with syrup), making dumpling and just chit chat eating popcorn and frozen persimmon and pear.
Food is so yummy, no need to eat outside because you can order from this homestay. Breakfast is free. Its a simple and healthy- plain porridge, bun and pickles. The northern people are not so much into sugary or fancy drinks, even like tea or coffees. plain hot water is what they had most of the time.
Lunch and dinner you can choose from their menu.
Few activities you can do in town such as walk around town and enjoy the beautiful scenery like what i did, i also took the sleight horse (200 yuan) to go to the national forest and also stroll along the river for sightseeing. If u want to have ski, snow mobile, tubing there are 2 private own mini park that you can go just by walking distance 5-15 minutes. There is a bigger park Rime Ridge, also known as Wu Song Ling, is a place in Harbin, China where you can see rime and snow scenery, and participate in winter activities this will cost 400 yuan. At night there will be campfire and singing at the village. You can join for free. Go for a walk at night to see lots of villagers selling foods by the road side. I also enjoyed experimenting the ‘boiling water thrown into the sky’ ..beautiful effect from the ice steam.
Most important please bring extra cash incase the alipay not working you will still have money. There is no bank or atm machine in the village. Its all solely depending on online payment such as allipay/wechat. I have problem with my alipay payment and I didn’t bring much cash so i cant spend so much at the village. The homestay owner knew about my problem so she worry i dont have enough money to eat so she cook meals for me FREE.. such a nice person. God bless her 🙏🏼

DDadahongniuniuLast year, when I stayed here, it was a four-star hotel. This year, it's somehow become a five-star, but absolutely nothing has changed, inside or out. I don't understand what makes it worthy of five stars; the facilities and amenities definitely don't meet that standard. The bathroom always has this persistent smell that flushing can't get rid of. This year, all the staff were cold and unwelcoming, which is a stark contrast to last year when everyone was so enthusiastic. I can't figure out why things have changed so much. The only real advantage is its convenient location right next to Central Avenue; stepping out of the hotel puts you right there. Other than that, I can't find any positives.

EEe MingWe had a very good experience staying in Yabu Loni Hotel at Yabuli. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm reception we receive from our hotel guide 初长月. She assisted us to check into our hotel room early which allow us to settle in quickly. Arranging for ski lessons and equipment was also a breeze with her help. Her enthusiasm, energy and smile is something that makes our stay so much fun and enjoyable. And she is always just a call away.
As for the hotel room, it is a little dated but nevertheless still very clean and nice. I would certainly hope that they can improve on the breakfast, the range is pretty limited.
The location of the hotel is fantastic and it is just right besides the cable car that bring you to the top of the ski resort. It is also right next to Club Med.

MM48983****The value for money for the room exceeded our expectations. The entire castle is an iconic landmark on Sun Island, and the castle itself is one end of the Songhua River Cableway. Arguably, the quickest way to get to the hotel across the river is by taking the cableway. On the opposite side of the river, the cableway exit leads directly to Central Street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. Our stay included complimentary round-trip cableway tickets for two people, which was very handy for getting in and out. Furthermore, the room's interior design was very tasteful, with exquisite furniture and facilities. The room was spacious and tall, giving it a true castle feel. Coupled with the included cableway and parking fees, it was simply superb value.
The only minor issue we encountered during our stay was that the temporary front desk staff member was unfamiliar with the procedures, believing each room only included a one-person round-trip cableway ticket. As a result, we paid for our return tickets ourselves. When we later brought this up with the front desk, they immediately offered to provide the full round-trip cableway tickets, but we no longer had time to use them, which was a small regret. However, the service attitude of the hotel front desk staff, including the replacement staff, was excellent, which I must commend.
The castle hotel is located right on Sun Island, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquil island scenery in the mornings. Additionally, there are several piers nearby where you can take river tours or ferries. The environment is absolutely fantastic! 👍
