The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities and excellent service. It was very comfortable to stay in. There were cute little puppies in the yard, which really lifted my spirits. It's especially suitable for weekend getaways and holiday relaxation. Ordering food was convenient, and the nearby restaurants had great flavors. It's also easy to get to by car. This will definitely be my go-to spot for weekend relaxation in the future!

It was a very impressive stay, everything was just perfect. The accommodation was clean and located in the old town area, which made the experience even more charming. For transportation, once you arrive at the train station, you can take the free shuttle bus directly from in front of the station (the blue bus). Exit the station, walk to the left, and look for the blue shuttle bus. No need to call a Didi or taxi. After getting off the bus, cross the road toward the area with many restaurants. Walk for about 120 meters, and you’ll see the city gate entrance — just walk straight in. The hotel is located in the middle area. Look to your right-hand side, and you’ll arrive! Our room was upgraded to a larger one, which was spacious, clean, and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. Our group went to the Great Wall very early at around 6:40 AM, and we came back down too late to make it in time. In the morning, the owner kindly drove us to the shuttle bus stop for the Great Wall. This place was truly wonderful — very friendly, helpful, and genuinely informative. We highly recommend it for Thai travelers. Staying one night is definitely worth it and much better than doing a tiring day trip back and forth.

We highly recommend this hotel near Badaling for anyone visiting the Great Wall. The hotel is modern and convenient, with impressive AI features (Xiao Du system) that control lights, curtains, music,and the TV—quite advanced for a 3-4 star hotel. Most importantly, we want to commend Mr Chang Chao Hui (常朝辉)for his outstanding service. After we were overcharged by a taxi from the airport, Mr Chang(常朝辉) helped us report the incident to the taxi company and ensured we received a partial refund. His dedication and care made a big difference to our experience. Thank you to Mr Chang(常朝辉)for his excellent hospitality.

This stay was beyond my expectations! I have to give it a lot of praise! First, the service. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive throughout, responsive to every request and very considerate, making it feel incredibly comfortable. Next, the environment. The views are truly unique, especially the close-up view of the Great Wall. The majestic spectacle from a high vantage point is truly breathtaking! Every photo is a masterpiece! The cleanliness was impeccable. The room and common areas were spotlessly clean, and every detail was meticulously thought out, making for a truly reassuring stay. The amenities are also comprehensive, with nearly every daily necessity readily available. It's easy to use and worry-free. In short, whether you're looking to relax or specifically visit the Great Wall, this is a perfect place. I highly recommend it!

I checked into the hotel with one goal in mind: to spend the night and then head to the Great Wall early in the morning, before breakfast. The transfer from reception to my room, a trolley (pictured in the first photo), wasn't great; it was terribly bumpy, so I could have walked. The room was clean, the bathroom door was solid wood, like a sliding wardrobe, and the toilet was simply amazing, even with some buttons, like the Japanese ones, which is generally the norm in China, where it's customary to do one's business ”on the squats.” It was very respectable.

My Husband and I live in Shanghai but were on a work trip to Bejing so we thought we would take a couple of days after to visit the Great Wall. I found this accommodation and it was absolutely wonderful, the location is great as you are so close to the Wall and also to the train station. Our room was gorgeous, clean, very comfy large beds and an incredible view of The Great Wall. All of the staff were so friendly and the young guy at reception was amazing, always so happy to help us with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to the Great Wall.

I highly recommend this courtyard B&B at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall! The overall experience was perfect. It has an authentic traditional courtyard vibe, and the location is excellent, making it super convenient for hiking the Great Wall. The room facilities are complete, new, and easy to use, and the hygiene is impeccable; the entire place was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was comfortable and tidy. The owner is incredibly warm and thoughtful, always ready to answer questions, and even proactively offered tips for visiting the Great Wall. The entire experience was fantastic! There's even a slide in the courtyard, which my child absolutely loved. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Badaling!

Finally checked into the Commune by the Great Wall, a Hyatt Centric property – specifically, the Bamboo House. This stay completely exceeded my expectations, so I'm sharing an honest review for anyone considering a visit. The exterior features tightly packed natural bamboo poles, complemented by a black sloping roof. Walking along the forest path, you can see the building softly blending into the mountains and woods from a distance, without appearing out of place at all. The most stunning feature is the independent outdoor bamboo tea room. Bamboo columns enclose a semi-transparent space with white sand covering the ground. Through the bamboo gaps, you can gaze at the mountains and forest. Sitting quietly and enjoying tea here creates an incredibly atmospheric experience, perfect for photos. The public areas boast large floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the green trees outside like natural landscape paintings. During the day, light and shadows filter into the rooms through the bamboo poles, creating ever-changing scenery. Practical Tips for Your Stay: 1. The room offers excellent privacy. It's a standalone building surrounded by dense trees, away from the hustle and bustle of public areas. It's ideal for those seeking quiet relaxation, couples on a getaway, or small gatherings of friends. 2. The building materials are natural bamboo, so there's a natural bamboo and wood scent. If you're sensitive to slight color variations or textures in natural materials, please be aware of this beforehand. The gaps in the bamboo create a soft, translucent feel; if you require ultimate privacy, simply pull down the indoor blackout blinds. 3. The hotel is located in a valley, so the temperature difference between morning/evening and daytime is greater than in the city. Remember to bring a light jacket if you plan to sit in the outdoor tea room in the evening. 4. The resort grounds are very large. I recommend driving in, as walking to and from the restaurant can be quite far. For dining, you can choose the hotel's restaurant or bring your own snacks and enjoy them in the outdoor tea room. Areas for Improvement: When I checked in, the room had just been cleaned, and there was still water on the floor, suggesting a rushed and less-than-thorough cleaning. The 'Old Beijing style' afternoon tea, which looked great for photos in the lobby, consisted of pre-bought items of generally mediocre quality.

The room looks exactly like the pictures, but I felt the privacy was lacking. Even though it's a private courtyard, the room window faces outside the courtyard, so we couldn't open the curtains. Other courtyards didn't seem to have this issue though; maybe it's because our room was on the very edge, which made the experience just so-so. The hot tub was great, and the kids had a lot of fun. However, breakfast was absolutely terrible. Out of all the B&Bs and hotels I've stayed in, this was the worst. There was barely anything to eat, and nothing was replenished after 9 AM. Everything was pre-made and extremely hard, and the congee barely tasted of rice.

The courtyard is absolutely beautiful, and the butler service is excellent and super attentive. The rooftop pool is huge, perfect for both adults and kids to enjoy. We had a delightful weekend; my family and children were very happy. It's super convenient to get to the Great Wall and dining spots, and the distance is very short. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting; the quality is truly great. The rooms are very comfortable, and the Great Wall view from the room is fantastic. The owner can even help you buy tickets for the night tour of the Great Wall, which is a really good deal. Truly excellent!
