The bedroom is clean and warm (but too warm for our preference). The service is basic with little personal touch and nobody in the front office speak english in such 5 star hotel. Breakfast delicious with huge varieties. Located in the Gubei Watertown area and they offer free boat ride and easy luggage service

We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond by decorating our room and even gifting us a complimentary cake. It was such a lovely surprise! A big thank you to the hotel. Its location right at the scenic area's entrance is fantastic, and they even provided complimentary entrance tickets. Parking was also very convenient for coming and going. Breakfast was great too.

My stay with Jack and his wife, Yunyeshu, was absolutely incredible. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel completely at home. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and their warmth and hospitality truly made all the difference in my solo travel experience.
The delicious homemade dinner was a wonderful way to unwind after a long day, and the hearty breakfast in the morning was the perfect start before heading out to explore. Both meals were full of flavor and clearly prepared with care.
One of the highlights of the stay was the evening karaoke—it was so much fun and really brought a sense of joy and connection. Even as a solo traveler, I never felt alone; Jack and Yunyeshu went out of their way to include me and make sure I was enjoying myself.
They were also incredibly helpful in planning my trip to the Great Wall. From offering tips to arranging transportation, their guidance made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.
Jack and Yunyeshu are genuinely kind, welcoming, and generous people. Staying with them was more than just accommodation—it was a memorable and heartwarming experience. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My husband and I visited Gubei Water Town and checked into Gubei Delin Boutique Villa. The staff took wonderful care of us, providing detailed information about Gubei Water Town's attractions and important tips. The villa offered a peaceful and very clean environment. In the evening, the view of Sima'tai Great Wall from our balcony was incredibly clear and convenient. Highly recommended! 👍👍👍

Checked in this hotel for 2 nights. No bus or private cars can passing thru the security gates to go inside your hotel. All have to unload at the main bus or taxi station outside of the Gubei Watertown. The gate is only open only after 8 or 830am. Once reached the bus station. Take the shuttle or feeder van at the bus station and go to the entrance main square to register and check in at the common counter for your hotel stays. The staff will prepare some hot local tea for you. Just register yourself with the staff and then follow the gubei Watertown on WeChat in order to know the free programmes available for public on their daily schedule. You can actually ask the reception to call the hotel if the room is available for check in. Otherwise you can drop your luggage and the bell boys will send it to your hotel after 30mins, which is pretty fast. The path in the gubei water town isn't the normal tar tar road. Pulling your luggages inside the gubei town might damage your luggage wheels. After the luggage arrangement, we were required to do a facial scanning at gate entrance so that next time do not require to use the ticket but only facial scanning. However , 7the hotel provides free two entrance ticket to gubei water town, 2 free entrance ticket to get to Simatai Great Wall of China (exclude the cable cars two ways that cost 200RMB) and two discounted tickets for hot spring at a designated hot spring club. Upon reaching your hotel. You have to register again opposite the building to get your room key and they will help you to carry your bags to your hotel room. The hotel itself has so many steps. We were given the room 618 free upgrade on the top floor overlooks the outside scenery. The room has a aircon that can serve hot and cold air. The hotel has a window but can't be opened. The room has hair dryer, free tea, free tooth pastes and toothbrush, free slipper , free fruits and free daily mineral water. The hotel said the pipe was is safe to drink. The hotel provides with good TV channels in mandarin. We enjoyed the tv channels drama. You can take the free shuttle inside the gubei water town by showing the driver the yellow registration form of residence. Keep this registration form as you need to show it to the hot spring club to get discounted price ticket to get in the hot spring for the price of 68RMB ( instead of normal price is 278 RMB). The hot water shower is very refreshing but however the cigarette smokes from outside of the toilet window can go inside the bathroom and making the whole room smell like a cigarette room! We need to shut the toilet room. The hotel reception will scan you WeChat QR code to ask you to order breakfast via the apps before 9pm for tomorrow breakfast. You need to book a specific time slot for breakfast from 730am, 8am and 830am onwards. There were quite a lots of variety for breakfast ranging from porridge, eggs, fruits, breads, noodles, milk, soya beans, dumping soups and lots of baozi. Definitely worth to stay at this hotel as it is accessible to Simatai great wall in 10-15mins, to the fountain show in 8mins, drone performance at Riyuedao Square
日月岛广场 around 10mins walk. The hotel is also super close to the drop off shuttle van station (日月岛站) by walking less than 5mins. In short, I will strongly recommend to stay at this hotel.

Location
The hotel is located in the center of town and close to the entrance to the Simatia wall just 3 minutes walk from the hotel also the hotel was very quiet and very clean the staff were very friendly. The breakfast is a little bit Chinese style liked another hotel in Beijing. The view from the hotel was very beautiful and around there too. If you like something easy and relaxing I would recommend it. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit china.

Very nice place. Close to gubei water town. Only 7 minutes walking. They have a restaurant and you can order food and eat in your room, good prices and delicious food. You can see de great wall from your window. The shower doesn't work properly. Is too hot or too cold, nothing in the middle, and the water leaks through the shower screen

Highly recommended! This location is excellent. The room is very BIG, fitting for two people and two large suitcases. The tea in the room is very great!! The lobby is a bit small. The staff is friendly, though they don't speak English; using Google Translate is the best way to communicate. This water town is very beautiful. You should spend 1-2 nights here to visit the Great Wall both during the day and at night, as it's stunning at both times. Overall, it was great, and I'll be back.

Perfect getaway accommodation. The place is serene. The room is very clean, bed and pillows were comfortable too. Bathroom amenities were complete and comes with thick n soft bathrobe too. The Jasmine green tea leaves, tea set and apples added a nice touch to the already awesome room. The only thing to consider would be the flight of stairs you will need to go up to the Inn. I would say it felt like having to go up 3 floors of stairs but for us, it was not a problem at all. If you are reasonably fit, this is definitely the best place to stay in Gubei Watertown. The view at night from there is superb.

Good for foreigners as it is very easy to find. It’s the first stop of the shuttle bus. It’s location is perfect, close to restaurants and shops.
The rooms are big and very clean, I got a very nice view of the lake. My family enjoyed it very much and the staff at the restaurant and at the hotel were friendly and cheerful. One of the best BnBs I’ve stayed in China.

GGuest UserA very good B&B! This is what a B&B should be like. The proprietress is warm and hospitable, the house is clean and tidy, and it is behind the village, away from the road. It is very quiet at night, and the birds on the mountain wake you up early. The environment is elegant, and the porridge made by the owner for breakfast is very delicious. I have never had this feeling in the hotels I have stayed in. I can experience the fun of a real B&B.

LLEEYOUNGSUClean, friendly, cheap and good facilities.
The rooms were very warm and the towels, toilet paper, etc. were very good quality even though it was cold.
It's also a restaurant, but both alcohol and food were good.

GGuest UserNight tour of Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town, after the tour, it is more than nine o'clock, contact folk customs, ask the boss for the menu before waiting for the Great Wall, order in advance, and eat after ten o'clock, the boss's dishes taste good, and affordable, we have not finished eating, a little waste, The mutton skewers grilled by the boss are very authentic. We live on the first floor, and there is only one room on the stairs, so it is very quiet. The two owners are very real and speak very softly. Say how late we go down to cook for us! Like a ~

GGuest UserSuper helpful guesthouse very close to one trailhead to the Wall. They have mastered the English translation app so it is not a problem if you don't speak Chinese. They can help organize affordable transportation - for example, one of us got dropped off at Panlongshan to hike to Jinshanling and the other got dropped at Jinshanling and the driver waited for 3 to 4 hours for us to return us both back to Gubeikou. It might be worth asking if they can pick you up at the train station because the taxi guy we had didn't know where this place was.
Big breakfasts and dinners! Perhaps the biggest breakfast we have had in China! Lovely Grandma of the house- always making sure you were well fed.
Thank you!

The check-in experience was great. The family went out for a trip and encountered heavy rain. Many projects were cancelled, so we could only visit the ancient town in the rain. However, the accommodation conditions are really good. The location is near the entrance of the scenic spot, and you can walk to the ticket office in three minutes. The family fell in love with the duplex room the first time they entered the room. The living room downstairs is very comfortable and they can take a nap on the sofa. There are two rooms upstairs that can accommodate five people. There is also a dedicated area for children with complete facilities and equipment. Because of the high floor, you can enjoy the night view of the ancient town and the Simatai Great Wall at night. There are restaurants and supermarkets downstairs, which is convenient for eating and shopping.
There are discounts for booking in advance and it feels like great value for money!
The message sent by the landlord is detailed and reading it carefully can save a lot of trouble.

WWawaI went to Gubei Water Town on a rainy day,
I didn’t plan to go to the water town because I brought the dog.
Just change a place to sleep and play cards for a weekend
After contacting the hotel one day in advance, the person in charge knew that we were bringing the elderly, children and dogs, and directly upgraded us to the first phase.
On this day in Gubei, the rain was heavy. The staff came to pick us up at the gate of the community under the rain, and helped us actively coordinate our move in as soon as possible. With special patience and dedication, we arranged a house with a yard for us. Let Mao children run as much as they want.
