I think it was the best hotel we had during our trip in China. The rooms are not very big but the interior is very Chinese so we liked that. We stayed there for 5/6 nights and only saw one person in change. He was very helpful with collecting our packages from Taobao and returning one of them. He shared his WeChat with us so we can contact him when we needed anything. He also recommended us nice Sichuan restaurant. The location was also prime. There was also washing machine so we could wash our clothes during our stay. I'm very happy with our stay here. We can 100% recommend it!
The dedication of the staff at Tangfu Hotel is truly top-notch. A prime example was when 小胡 (Xiao Hu) promptly met us at the main road where our chauffeur dropped us off, graciously assisting with our luggage. This level of attentiveness set the tone for our entire stay.
The entire team is incredibly friendly and helpful, always available 24/7 to assist with any request. This unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction is undoubtedly one of the hotel's strongest assets, making our stay incredibly comfortable and well-cared for. My brother and I particularly enjoyed the cozy lobby, you may check on the photos I took, we often relaxed with coffee and snacks, frequently engaging in pleasant conversations with the staff.
Beyond the superb service, the Tangfu Hotel boasts a truly fantastic location. Despite being situated on a bustling Hutong walking street where you can easily find any local street foods, authentic Beijing food and souvenir, the hotel's interior remains remarkably quiet, providing a peaceful sanctuary after a day of exploring Beijing's vibrant streets. Its close proximity to LRT stations and several major tourist attractions makes sightseeing incredibly convenient. Furthermore, hailing a taxi or a Didi is effortless, with the main road just a minute's walk away.
Tangfu Hotel provides all the essential facilities one could possibly need for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay. Amenities such as water heaters, hair dryers, water dispensers, and even laundry service are readily available. Every detail seems to have been carefully considered to ensure maximum comfort for guests.
The only minor drawback we encountered was an occasional, infrequent smell from the bathroom drainage. While this was a minor issue and did not significantly detract from our experience, it is something for future guests to be aware of.
For anyone planning a trip to Beijing, the Tangfu Hotel should undoubtedly be at the very top of your accommodation list. It offers the perfect blend of exceptional service, a prime location that balances accessibility with tranquility, and all the necessary amenities for a truly memorable visit. Despite a small plumbing issue, the overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, and I will absolutely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Beijing.
One of the loveliest lodgings I have experienced. The Orchid Hotel is a short walk from the bustling streets, yet it offers a peaceful retreat that feels like your own private oasis. The breakfast at either of their two restaurants is absolutely amazing! The bakery sells delicious bakes and they are hard to resist. The team running the lodging is a thoughtful bunch too. Knowing that I had to leave for the Great Wall at 6.50am, they made sure they had bakes and freshly brewed coffee for me to bring along for my day trip. The map provided by them is informative, thoughtful and extremely useful. Strongly suggest you take a good read and mark out the places you want to visit. Much appreciated Jihan and her team who have made the stay a very pleasant one.

Staying at this courtyard hotel in Beijing was such a wonderful experience. The location is peaceful yet very convenient to reach the main attractions. The courtyard itself keeps the charm of traditional Beijing architecture — gray bricks, red wooden doors, and classic windows. Every corner feels full of history and is perfect for photos.
The room was clean and cozy, with comfortable bedding. I really liked how they combined the traditional style with modern facilities. The courtyard garden is beautiful too — waking up to birds chirping in the morning and seeing the warm lights in the evening was truly relaxing.
The staff were very kind and helpful. They not only assisted with luggage but also gave us great local food and travel suggestions. It felt just like staying at home, but with a unique cultural touch.
Overall, it was an amazing stay. If you want to experience Beijing’s culture while still enjoying comfort, this courtyard hotel is definitely the best choice. I would love to stay here again next time!
Booked this place by mistake but completely fell in love with this cute little hotel, despite initially feeling a bit nervous about the location. While the traditional architecture elements are still preserved, the room comes fitted with very modern finishing, japanese-style bidet, Dyson hair dryer and projector TV. The bed is super comfy with high quality linen.Breakfast buffet might not offer a wide range kf offering but they have a very decent mix of western and asian breakfast including sandwiches, bacon, eggs, dim sum, freshly cooked noodles and these amazing dumpling soup, which totally stole the show for me. There are also lots of local eateries around the immediate vicinity. Most importantly, I have to commend the super thoughtful staff at the front desk. One day before check in, they already reached out to brief me on how to get to the place. When I checked in, they saw my huge luggage and immediately offered to put me on the ground floor (My room had this cute little porch facing the courtyard which was perfect for the complimentary afternoon tea)! The staff also very kindly handled delivery of a birthday cake and a frozen food item. When they found out I had an awkwardly-timed train schedule, they also kindly allowed a late check out so I could rest a bit longer. Overall, truly a perfect place if you want a taste of the local hospitality. Oh and do try the coffee at the cafe inside the courtyard. I tried their seasonal peach americano which is perfect for the sweltering Beijing summer. This place has made me fall in love with Beijing. Hopefully I will have a chance to come back and stay here again.
This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable B&B I've ever stayed in. Liaoliao Inn is tucked away deep in the hutongs. It was raining when we arrived on the first day, but the staff greeted us with umbrellas and gave us a very warm welcome. Upon entering the small courtyard, we were immediately captivated by its warm and inviting atmosphere – the pictures truly speak for themselves.
As soon as my son entered the room, he dragged his luggage upstairs and didn't come down, completely captivated by how comfortable the large bed in the loft was. The bed downstairs faces a wall-sized projection screen, allowing you to recline in bed and enjoy movies – pure bliss. The bedding here is incredibly comfortable, personally washed and air-dried by the owner, giving it a delightful sun-kissed scent. We slept wonderfully.
There's also a shared rooftop terrace, perfect for drying clothes.
The B&B is situated on Beijing's central axis, close to the Bell and Drum Towers. Transportation is incredibly convenient, with easy access to both the subway and taxis.
Having been born in Beijing's hutongs, I left many years ago. This trip, bringing my son, allowed me to reconnect with my childhood memories. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mousse, the gorgeous and slightly sassy resident cat.
Next time I visit Beijing, I'll definitely be staying here again.
My travel plans unexpectedly changed, and I found this hotel at the very last minute. The location is absolutely fantastic! It's right on Di'anmen Outer Street, a neighborhood I know well, surrounded by many famous snack shops, and within easy walking distance to Houhai, Gulou, and Nanluoguxiang.
As two adults traveling with two children, finding a suitable family room can be quite a challenge. This hotel offered an ideal setup: a 2-meter king bed and a 1.5-meter queen bed, thoughtfully arranged into two connecting rooms. It was absolutely perfect for us.
What truly made our stay exceptional was the incredible helpfulness of the young owner. My husband accidentally left his wallet in a taxi, and the owner went above and beyond, constantly assisting me with phone calls and communication to try and retrieve it. In the end, we even called 110 (the local emergency number), and thanks to his persistent efforts, the wallet was miraculously recovered! We are immensely grateful for his help.
He also kindly helped us arrange to ship some luggage back home when we were checking out, which was incredibly helpful. We truly appreciate everything he did.
We will absolutely choose Rongfu again on our next visit!
The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel is ideally located between Shichahai and Nanluoguxiang, making it very easy to get around. The common area even offers free amenities like a microwave, ice maker, fridge, and coffee table. Our child absolutely loved the quaint, antique-style bed in the room. Plus, with a food street just 200 meters away, finding great places to eat was super easy. We didn't hesitate to extend our stay for another three nights – simply fantastic!
Our four-night stay at the Shadow Arts Performance Hotel was truly memorable. Tucked away in a hutong near ShiChaHai, the location offered an authentic glimpse into local life. Every morning, we’d see residents walking their kids to school, neighbors exercising, or playing ping pong and kicking shuttlecocks in the nearby park—it felt like being part of the community.
The highlight for my child was the live Shadow Arts Performance, held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8 pm. The skill and dedication behind the show were impressive, and it was heartening to see such care taken to preserve this intangible cultural heritage (非遗文化). The optional workshop afterward, offered for a small fee, was a nice touch for those wanting a deeper experience.
What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. Tom and Jerry at the front desk, the manager 二姐, and the housekeeping team (李大姐 and 郑大姐) went out of their way to help—whether it was assisting with takeout orders when our phones wouldn’t cooperate or just offering friendly advice. Their warmth made the hotel feel like a home.
If you’re looking for a place that blends local charm, cultural immersion, and genuine hospitality, this is it.
I stayed here with my child on the third floor. The only minor drawback was a faint rumbling noise from a machine outside our window. Other than that, our stay was extremely pleasant. The environment is superb, offering a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city. It's also very convenient for sightseeing, and there are tons of great food choices nearby. Definitely recommend!

OOuerdianpingThe location is absolutely superb. It's an authentic Beijing *siheyuan* (quadrangle courtyard) with a fantastic design aesthetic, and the room amenities are also very thoughtfully selected and of high quality. The only minor drawback was that heavy rain forced the closure of all attractions, so I was confined to the hotel enjoying the air conditioning. Fortunately, there was no shortage of delicious food nearby. There are many authentic Beijing specialties just steps away: Menkuang Hutong's century-old *luzhu*, Qingfeng Baozi Shop, Menkuang Hutong hotpot, and even a late-night BBQ spot right across the street. The front desk staff were also incredibly attentive. I'll definitely have to visit again next time!
GGuest UserThe front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean. As a healthcare professional, I admit I have a bit of a 'cleanliness obsession,' and it's truly rare to find a hotel that's this immaculate and hygienic. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options. The room's decor was a delightful throwback to the 80s, bringing back fond memories. I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit.
EE2698****The hotel is in Hutongli. The walking distance from Jishuitan Hospital Navigation to the main road to the hospital is a bit far. The girl at the front desk was very helpful. She even upgraded the double bed to a twin bed for free. When I went to the hospital, the girl showed me the path. It's much closer. The sanitary conditions of the hotel are pretty good. There is no breakfast, but the surrounding area is very convenient for eating. However, the price is much higher during the tourist season than usual. We stayed for ten and a half months and the price-performance ratio was not high. We checked out after staying for one day.
__ZFB208880246836****Location: The hotel's location is incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk from the subway exit. It's also very close to Gulou (Drum Tower) and Shichahai, only one subway stop away or about a 15-minute walk. For such a prime and central location, this hotel offers excellent value for money.
Facilities: The facilities are modern and well-maintained. The beds are particularly comfortable – not too soft, which made for a great night's sleep.
Service: The staff were all incredibly warm, polite, and always ready to assist with any requests – excellent service! They even have robot delivery for room service. Plus, being so close to the scenic area meant a wide array of convenient and affordable takeout options were available. I highly recommend trying the 'Coriander Stir-fried Tripe' (芫爆散丹) from Ziguangyuan (紫光元) – it's absolutely worth it!
I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
SShoujiyankuaiLocation: Easily accessible, about a 10-minute walk from Gulou Dajie subway station. It's nestled in Baochao Hutong, and the prominent sign makes it simple to spot. Just head in after seeing the sign, and it's on your left.
Room Amenities: The ambiance is lovely. Both the courtyard and the rooms have unique character, offering that classic 'Siheyuan' (quadrangle courtyard) charm. The inclusion of disposable toiletries was a thoughtful touch. What really stood out was the old-school pull-cord lights – very nostalgic!
Bed: The king-sized bed was very comfortable. It did shed a little bit when it rained, but it didn't cause any issues. Overall, I was quite satisfied.
Soundproofing: The soundproofing was just okay; I could clearly hear a child crying in the room next door late at night.
Room Size: The room was a perfect size – not too big, not too small. The high ceilings made it feel incredibly comfortable and spacious.
Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi was available.
Cleanliness: The room was very clean. The breakfast was also quite substantial.
Value for Money: While the listed price seemed high, it became very cost-effective after discounts, especially considering I paid just over 200 RMB with the member rate.
Parking: There's no parking available, so public transport is the way to go.
Service: The service was exceptionally thoughtful. They offered a complimentary breakfast where you could choose your meal via WeChat, and a welcome fruit platter was provided. When our originally booked room had a leak, they proactively changed it for us. They were also upfront about the bed shedding a bit and asked if we'd still be comfortable staying, without any hidden issues.
MM48581****The hotel is very good, the infrastructure and facilities are very good, the service staff are very enthusiastic, and the environment and facilities are very comfortable. I recommend it to everyone. I hope that the next time you come, it will be a safe and healthy journey.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent. The Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is opposite the hotel. To the west is Nanluoguxiang and Beihai Park. It is a good place to stay whether for medical treatment or sightseeing. The front desk service is meticulous and thoughtful, and the room is clean and tidy. It makes people live very comfortably and satisfied. I will stay here again next time.
GGuest UserThe former Wangfu, the courtyard house that can be accommodated now, is very close to Nanluoguxiang, very quiet in the middle of noisy, sent the manager's arrangement to a friend, the friend said: It feels like a big event, the movie viewing experience is excellent, the environment sound effect, the terrace meal just catches up with the sunset, let people linger, The restaurant supervisor not only arranges food, but also helps to leave beautiful scenery. There have always been a courtyard plot, perfect!
NNijiubunenghaohaoshuohuaOverall, the service is good, but the environment is poor. A better location in this location would have more repeat customers. I suggest the boss to renovate it and it will be better and the price can be better.
