In terms of service, this is one of the best hotels I’ve experienced in China thus far. We had an issue with a reservation made through the hotel with the restaurant located within the hotel. The restaurant is run by a different operator from the hotel. The hotel manager’s service recovery was excellent even though it was not entirely the hotel’s fault. He sincerely apologised and patiently listened to our complaints while standing outside our room in the cold winter night. The front desk voluntarily offered us a choice of free warm drinks upon our return to the hotel, which made us feel comforted by their hospitality, especially after we had spent a long day outside in the cold wet weather. It’s soft touches like this which leaves a long lasting good impression in customers’ minds.
We absolutely loved our stay at Junhefu Courtyard Hotel. The staff went above and beyond in every way. We have a toddler who is a serious fruit lover, and every time she cleared the fruit plate in our room, they would restock it without hesitation. It was such a small gesture, but it showed how thoughtful and attentive they are. Honestly, I would stay again just for the service alone.
And the location—wow. Don’t underestimate what the Hutongs have to offer! Staying here ended up being the highlight of our trip. Wandering the surrounding alleyways was magical: authentic, full of life, and best of all, incredibly safe. If you want to truly feel the cultural heart of Beijing, this is the place to stay.
A small note for light sleepers: the rooms aren’t very sound insulated, so noise can travel. We managed fine with our toddler thanks to a sound machine, but it’s worth being aware of.
Overall, we would absolutely book again. A beautiful cultural experience with some of the kindest staff we’ve ever encountered.
The room was clean and had a small living area, perfect for entertaining friends. If you're sensitive to cold, you can turn on the air conditioning. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who helped with luggage whenever we came and went. I even forgot medicine in the fridge and had to go back for it; the front desk attendant quickly helped me retrieve it from the room.
Location: Shichahai is right outside, making it super convenient for eating and exploring. They also have two adorable cats, Dou Dou and Dou Bao.
The only minor downside is that you have to walk to Gulou Street to catch a taxi. But that's the price you pay for experiencing the hutongs and pedestrian streets, which is totally worth it!

The hotel's location is super convenient, just over 100 meters from both Line 2 and Line 8 subway stations. The front desk staff were friendly; they even offered us a complimentary white fungus soup when we checked in. When we mentioned we were going for hot pot lamb, they gave us a great recommendation. The taste was excellent!
The room itself was quite small and compact. The chair was too low and not suitable for doing work. There was no flush button in the bathroom. The hygiene was good, but the mattress was a bit soft.
The breakfast didn't have many varieties, but the taste was decent.
Soundproofing wasn't great; one side of the room faced the Second Ring Road, which could be noisy.
Handicrafts were chargeable, but the next morning, there was a whole table full of stamps at the front desk.
The hotel was very pleasant offering great service. The main reason I chose this hotel was because of how near it is to 南锣鼓巷 filled with food stalls and souvenir shops. I was really relieved about how clean the toilet. The toilet is divided into two individuals (toilet bowl & shower pipe) which is seperated by a door. The bedroom was cosy with a big television which my kids really enjoyed with. Overall, great experience. Receptionist are friendly and patient. Good breakfast also.
The room was small with very limited space for belongings, which was inconvenient for travelers with a lot of luggage or personal items. The shower's glass door didn't close properly, causing water to spray out during showers. The sink faucet was positioned too far forward, making it awkward to wash hands and face. Also, the toilet paper holder was poorly placed, causing the entire roll to easily fall to the floor. The floors had quite a bit of dust and hair. On the plus side, the location is near a city center subway station, making it very convenient for visiting popular attractions.
Facilities: The facilities are complete and in good condition, and the room equipment is well-maintained.
Hygiene: Both the room and the hotel are clean and tidy. The staff are busy cleaning all day, which shows the business is good.
Environment: Located on Old Gulou Street, it's very close to the subway station, Bell and Drum Tower, Shichahai, and other attractions. Transportation is very convenient, and there are many food markets. It's a great place to stay for tourists, offering a quiet retreat in a bustling area.
Choosing the right hotel when traveling with kids is so important! This place is simply amazing. They had children's picture books and small toys ready in the room beforehand, which kept my baby entertained from the moment we checked in. For breakfast, there were special kids' utensils, and the server even brought a small cake for my child. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the scenic area, and free parking is super convenient. The bathroom also has safety grab bars, which is a great relief for older family members traveling with children. The staff were incredibly patient with the kids, always greeting us with a smile. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next family trip with my parents!
This hotel was really great, especially since I was traveling with my child and it was Christmas. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and check-in was super convenient. They practically fed us tea and snacks as soon as we arrived! 😂 They also personally escorted us to our room, explaining all the features and facilities. The hygiene was excellent; my child played barefoot on the floor, and it wasn't dirty at all. All in all, this hotel in Beijing was a fantastic recommendation for our trip!
This is a great hotel, within walking distance of both bus and subway stations. The hotel's front entrance isn't very conspicuous though; I walked past it twice before finding the place. It's also within walking distance of the Drum Tower, Shichahai, Guijie Street, and Yonghe Temple. The facilities are quite new, which was one of the reasons I chose it, based on the renovation date. It's excellent. I ordered takeout a few times, and having a robot deliver it to my room was very convenient. When I checked in, they mentioned my room was a bit small, and it indeed wasn't huge, but for one person, it was just right. The only downside was that the window faced a fire escape, which meant a lack of privacy, but I understand that's unavoidable. The hotel doesn't offer meals, but there are plenty of local restaurants nearby, as well as fast-food options like McDonald's and a 7-Eleven. Another reason I chose this hotel was the availability of laundry and drying machines. If you buy bento boxes, you can use the microwave on the 2nd floor. I had wanted to try some local frozen foods, but unfortunately, there was no air fryer. I had a wonderful 7-night stay.
Off-topic: I was so lucky to experience Beijing's first snow!

Zzw218218This new hotel, Xin Yuan 1875, is super conveniently located in a historic old house on Yandai Xie Street. Just two minutes north from Exit A2 of Shichahai subway station, you'll see its two-story building on the corner to the west of the Yandai Xie Street archway. Its rich decor perfectly complements its unique history and proximity to Shichahai Lake, the Drum Tower, Nanluoguxiang, Guangfu Temple, and Dashibei Hutong. It's incredibly convenient for sightseeing, leisure, and enjoying local snacks. There aren't many rooms, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area. The furnishings are interesting; flipping through 'Beijing Customs' in the cabinet gives a real sense of old Beijing. From the head of the bed, you get a close-up view of the magnificent Drum Tower filling the window. The shower's fine, soft water streams are wonderfully comfortable, reminding one of the area's famous old bathhouses. It would be even better if there was some information about the history of those bathhouses. I'd definitely come back.
AAnonymous UserThe environment, hygiene, and service attitude are all excellent. The breakfast is simple yet delicious. This is my second time staying at a hotel of the same brand, and I will definitely choose to stay here again the next time I travel with my child!
GGuest UserComfortable and clean, with excellent and patient service at the front desk. They even allowed us to pre-order packages to the hotel, which was a great convenience. The location is also fantastic; it's less than a five-minute walk to Huguosi Street, which has tons of great food. The only minor drawback is that the hotel is located in a *hutong* (alleyway), so large buses can't enter, and there are time restrictions for vehicle access. A nice bonus is the free arcade machine next to the reception area!
BBaxiaojilifangwanStaying at this hotel next to Prince Gong's Mansion was incredibly worth it! Step outside and you're greeted by the stunning scenery of red walls and black tiles, and opening the window offers a glimpse into the ancient charm of the mansion – the views are absolutely breathtaking. Even more delightful was the front desk service; the young lady had such a sweet smile, proactively helped us plan our sightseeing route, and even thoughtfully offered us hot towels. The attention to detail was exceptional. The room was clean and tidy, making for a perfect experience. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!
MManuel CotesOur stay at Beijing Shichahai Shadow Art Performance Courtyard was simply amazing. The atmosphere of the hotel perfectly combines tradition and modern comfort, giving us a truly unique experience in the heart of Beijing.
What surprised and delighted us the most were the shadow puppet performances, an authentic and original show that made us feel even more immersed in the local culture. It was truly unforgettable.
We want to give a very special thanks to Tom and Lily, who were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home.
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking not just for accommodation, but for a cultural and personal experience that we will always remember with great affection.
Wwxyjay919It is a ten-minute walk from Ping'anli subway station. In the alley, out of the alley is Huguosi Snack Street, you can walk to Prince Gong's Mansion and Beihai Park.
Nice place: the safety factor is very high, you must have a door card to enter. There is an electric card in the room, and there is air conditioning in the house in summer. Who knows this feeling? ~~ Don't wait for the air conditioner to cool down, it is not too comfortable. The bathroom is dry and wet. The design is very reasonable. The overall feeling is very good.
Insufficient: Hutong location, the car may not be easy to stop at the door, there is no elevator.
Finally, I specially named and praised: recently, Beijing has been raining, and the hotel is intimate to even the small electric parked at the door to help cover it, afraid of getting wet. And the car seat and the handle are covered. It's so intimate. The service is serious and attentive, the series sees the real chapter! ! ! It's a big praise.
MM48581****The hotel is very good, the infrastructure and facilities are very good, the service staff are very enthusiastic, and the environment and facilities are very comfortable. I recommend it to everyone. I hope that the next time you come, it will be a safe and healthy journey.
GGuest UserThe location is excellent. The Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital is opposite the hotel. To the west is Nanluoguxiang and Beihai Park. It is a good place to stay whether for medical treatment or sightseeing. The front desk service is meticulous and thoughtful, and the room is clean and tidy. It makes people live very comfortably and satisfied. I will stay here again next time.
GGuest UserThe former Wangfu, the courtyard house that can be accommodated now, is very close to Nanluoguxiang, very quiet in the middle of noisy, sent the manager's arrangement to a friend, the friend said: It feels like a big event, the movie viewing experience is excellent, the environment sound effect, the terrace meal just catches up with the sunset, let people linger, The restaurant supervisor not only arranges food, but also helps to leave beautiful scenery. There have always been a courtyard plot, perfect!
GGuest UserLet's talk about the advantages first. The location is good. Take the subway line 4 from Beijing South Station and get off at Ping'anli. It's less than 100 meters away from the station. The hotel is on Huguo Temple Street, surrounded by many snacks and close to attractions. 20 meters away from the hotel is the Huguo Temple Snacks Headquarters, 30 meters away is Starbucks, and 50 meters away is Mending Meat Pie. It's also 100 meters away from Menkuang Hutong Luzhu, and next to Luzhu is Mixue Ice City. The hotel is a 10-minute walk to Mei Lanfang's former residence and a 20-minute walk to Prince Gong's Mansion. The hotel service staff is warm and welcoming. Every time I walked to the door, the male waiter greeted me with a smile and took the initiative to open the door for me. I stayed in the north room, which was very quiet at night.
Let's talk about the disadvantages. The hotel is relatively old, the room is small, and the bathroom is even smaller, so there is no dry and wet separation. When you take a shower, the floor is full of water. The hotel does not have disposable items.
