Hotels in Qianmen, The Temple Of Heaven and Chongwenmen, Beijing

This hotel offers great value for money. We booked a family room, and there was plenty of space for our family of three to sleep comfortably by combining the tatami mats. It has a courtyard, which was a nice spot to relax in the evening. It's about a kilometer from both Jinsong Station and Panjiayuan Station. The surrounding area is an older part of the city, quite peaceful with more elderly residents and no chaotic noise. Housekeeping was prompt every day, and they even provided special disposable slippers for our child. They also gave us a small gift when we checked out. Overall, it was a great stay, and we'd definitely consider coming back.

I stayed at a Siheyuan (courtyard house) near Qianmen with my child and father, and it truly felt like quintessential Beijing! First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's nestled in a hutong on Qianmen East Street, offering a quiet escape amidst the bustling city. A short walk around the corner takes you to Qianmen Pedestrian Street, and Dashilar is easily reachable on foot. Taking a taxi to Tiananmen or the Forbidden City costs just the minimum fare, which is a huge relief when traveling with elderly parents and children – no hassle at all. Secondly, the courtyard itself is absolutely charming. Stepping through the gate, you're greeted by a classic Old Beijing Siheyuan, with its grey bricks, dark tiles, and covered walkways, all centered around a large tree. In the morning, with the sun streaming into the courtyard, enjoying a bowl of congee feels incredibly leisurely. The room, though not large, is exquisitely designed, with comfortable bedding and a bathroom featuring a separate shower and toilet, complete with a smart toilet. Thirdly, the service was wonderfully attentive. The young lady at the front desk, seeing we had elderly parents and a child, proactively helped us with our luggage. Breakfast was abundant, and they even gave us a small gift when we checked out – excellent! Overall, if you want to experience an Old Beijing Siheyuan without compromising on comfort, this place is truly ideal. It's especially perfect for families traveling with parents and children, offering both charm and convenience.

This is my second stay here, and the experience this time was absolutely perfect, a definite five-star recommendation! The biggest plus is the location – it's very close to Tiananmen Square, just a few minutes' walk away. This means no need to rush in the early morning to visit the Forbidden City or watch the flag-raising ceremony. Plus, the surrounding area has everything you need: subway stations, restaurants, making getting around super convenient. The room facilities are excellent; all the appliances and bathroom amenities are new. The hot water supply is plentiful, and the soundproofing is good too. The entire room was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, making it incredibly relaxing to return to after a long day. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient with check-in, and they were very quick to respond to any requests. Overall, everything about this place is impeccable, and the value for money is outstanding. If you're coming to Beijing to see Tiananmen Square, I highly recommend this hotel. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time! Every time I visit, the lobby is always sparkling clean, and during holidays, they always have unique and charming decorations.

The room was clean, and the staff were very attentive. The hotel facilities were excellent, including a smart Xiao Du speaker. Plus, there's a free laundry room. So, if I come to Beijing again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

Apart from the renovation which we were told beforehand, the room we had was dark (probably because it was a windowless room), humid, aircon wasn’t strong but they provided a fan. Could smell urine even with the toilet seat covered, toilet door was closed, to a point that i was awaken by the foul smell. Had to spray perfume to have it barely covered. Ventilation was super bad. Cons aside, service was good, fridge in room had free drinks. Would recommend to book a window room if you had to even though friend that stayed in the window room said it was bad too. There’s a mall few minutes walk away which was a plus. Good view on the reception floor too.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Chongwenmen subway station. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, making it very convenient for visiting attractions. The room size was decent, though a bit dated, but for the price, it offered good value for money. However, the bed was a bit small, and it felt a little cramped with a child. Overall, for this price and location, it's a good deal.

I stayed at two hotels during my trip to Beijing, and Capital Hotel was by far the winner. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time. First off, I want to thank the manager for upgrading my room upon check-in. While Capital Hotel is a bit older and the facilities aren't brand new – no delivery robots or laundry machines, for example – the service is still that old-school, five-star kind. They treat guests with great respect, housekeeping is prompt, and the amenities are convenient. The location is excellent, very close to Qianmen, Tiananmen, and the Forbidden City. Luggage and food deliveries are also handled well at the lobby entrance. The best part is that you don't even have to leave the hotel to find authentic Japanese cuisine, seafood hotpot, and Western restaurants. My kids loved the burgers and afternoon tea. The hotel also has a corridor, fish pond, and garden for strolling, and offers intangible cultural heritage handicraft experiences (which I unfortunately missed due to my packed schedule).

The floors, countertops, and bathroom corners were all sparkling clean, the towels were soft and odorless, and the toiletries were complete and effective. The room had good lighting, a spacious and unconfining layout, and a mattress that was just right – perfect for a good night's rest. The service was attentive throughout, with staff actively helping with luggage and directions. It was quiet and peaceful, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Among similarly priced options, the quality here is outstanding, genuinely recommended!

The young lady at the front desk during the day was incredibly enthusiastic. My husband and I, two seniors, had two large suitcases, and she helped us carry them downstairs. She even waited with us for our ride-hailing car and helped us load them in. We really can't thank her enough! The location is great; turn right out of the main entrance and there's a delicious Shunde restaurant. The food is fantastic! The hotel's location is truly excellent, though the only drawback is the lack of an elevator.

I will definitely stay here again.
