Read and Rest Hotel

Really enjoyed my stay here and it was the perfect base for a week in Beijing. It is located close to a metro station which required limited transfers to most of the tourist attractions within the city centre. A special shoutout to the attention and care paid by the cleaning ladies at the hotel as well - on the second day of my stay they noticed I was using the humidifier in my room and continued to fill it for me everyday without ever being asked. The rooms do have centralised heating though so at times it was a bit stuffy and I had to open the window. The downside to opening the window is the noise and smell from all the restaurants located nearby (downstairs is a Michelin recommended Chongqing noodle restaurant that always had lines).

The location is good, close to the undergroun station. The room is compact but has everything needed. There is also a cute robot which can send your meals to your room. The walls between room is a bit thin so sometimes you can hear the noise. But during my stay most of noises disappeared at night so it was not a bit deal for me. In general it was a good stay.

The location is super good, close to 雍和宫，什刹海，南锣鼓巷，train is just 100m walking distance. But have to consider the poor sound proof, whole day hearing people talking from next door, close and open door, people next door talking & using toilet, the sounds from street cleaner at 6am, the sound of the aunty vacuum the floor. All unpleasant noise that you can imagine. Cleanliness is also one thing to improve. Cleaner didn't throw rubbish properly, didn't clean the cups during room cleaning, most of the time didn't replenish mineral water. In short, only consider the good side of location, that's all.

Despite the great location I do not recommend this hotel. It is situated right at the Beixinqiao subway exit, and the entrance looks quite decent. The room itself was only moderately clean — even after housekeeping, there were many missed spots. The curtains had yellow stains and the walls showed discoloration. Service and management were very poor. On the second day, I specifically called the front desk to say not to clean the room because I had important documents in the trash bin and needed to retrieve them myself. I asked them to wait until I returned to confirm in person. However, when I came back in the afternoon, everything had already been cleared. The front desk simply said that although the message was sent to the team, the cleaner “felt that since she didn’t clean in the morning, she could do it in the afternoon.” The documents were gone, and the hotel had no solution. I let it go at the moment, but thinking back, the hotel should have offered compensation and handled this much better. I didn’t feel secure staying here, so I do not recommend this hotel. 地理位置很好，就在北新桥地铁口，入口装潢也体面。 房间整洁一般，即使打扫过了还是有很多很多遗忘的角落。窗帘有黄色的斑点，墙壁也有色块。 服务和管理很糟糕：入住第二天特地打电话关照先别打扫房间，因为有重要的东西（文件）在房间垃圾桶，要亲自回去找。请等客人本人回去和前台确认了再打扫。结果下午回到酒店已经被清走。前台给的回应是：“群里说过一句，但保洁阿姨觉得上午不打扫到了下午她可以打扫。”因为文件已经遗失，前台也无解决方案，不想发火，就当场作罢。回想，酒店应当给予补偿，给出更有效的回应，更在管理上改革。住得不安心，所以不推荐。
