A mixed bag. On the plus side the bamboo construction and furniture in a huge room really give it a Bali feel - which you won't get from any of the modern hotels springing up. At the same time the proximity to (two!) pools, comfy living/bar area and laid back furniture really make you feel like you rented a villa not a hotel room. On the down side, they have largely lost their rice paddy views (massive construction in front), there are a lot of mosquitoes (even in the room) and the place is showing its age a bit. In particular (and contrary to other reviewers) I was disappointed with the food - pizza was horrible, Indonesian chicken curry was a watery soup and eggs benedict had no Hollandaise sauce and chewy bacon (though that is a Bali problem not specific to Bloomfields). To finish on a high note - this is a great location - easy reach of the short cut to Canggu, right in Umulas and a good base to strike out to Ubud etc.

Great stay, but could be improved.
Bloomfield is a small boutique villa / hotel in Umalas that's close to some great cafes and food options and not too far from the hustle and bustle of Bali.
The room was spacious and comfortable, minus the soundproofing. While other guests are respectable and mindful with their voices, there was a lot of construction in the area that started early morning everyday of my stay.
The power went out one morning as well and basically everything was out, including water until noon.
It's a great stay if you don't care to sleep in often and don't mind the occasional morning yoga sessions that can be quiet loud if your room is next to the practice room.

Very good stay at Bloomfield Umalas !! Staff super helpful, friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and well decorated. Common areas were really good, feeling more like in a big Balinese house than in a hotel. The view from the outside area is stunning, in front of rice fields and residential areas. Very well situated in Umalas area, our favorite. I would recommend this place!

Excellent service from the attentive and accommodating staff at all hours. Shared amenities like the pool area were beautiful but the room was a little dimly lit; brighter lighting options would have been nice. Located in a convenient yet quiet area very close to the main shopping/beach club district of Canggu with a few solid F&B options open until late.

Franchement un accueil super vraiment très bon Pote, ça vaut le détour pour se ressourcer avec une vue sublime. Allez-y fais un tour… de plus, c’est un endroit très propre, très sain donc très agréable. Le service est irréprochable je ne sais pas quoi dire de plus.

Petit hôtel très agréable, personnel sympathique et d’une grande gentillesse, nous avions une chambre (nr 8) avec vue piscine et transats juste devant la chambre. On s’est sentis comme à la maison durant 3 semaines, car la vue piscine est vraiment le bon choix à faire. Quelques rizières visibles depuis l’hotel et joli jardin arboré. Il est nécessaire d’avoir un scooter pour se déplacer mais il y a plusieurs restaurants de qualité autour de l’hôtel à prix abordables.
