Real Abadia, Congress & Spa Hotel
"For all these reasons, it's a place to discover, to experience, and to return to someday."
Vale d'Azenha Hotel Rural & Residences
"Staff was very friendly. Spacious bedroom and cleanliness is 👍. Is a resort … don’t expect any convenient store nearby. Other than that, we love staying at the hotel! A few days of relaxation before returning to reality 😆"
Your Hotel & Spa Alcobaça
"13-09-2023 - Room not clean. Bedsheet with blood stains. The Housekeeping employee was alerted that the sheet had blood stains on it, I unmade the bed and placed the sheet on top of the bed with clearly visible blood stains. The bed was made with the same sheets, placing the sheet with the blood spots on top and the blood spots facing the feet so that I couldn't see them. At 20.00 I called the reception's attention, said that I was going to leave the hotel and when I returned I would be grateful if the towels had been changed, the request was not answered telling me that they did not have the staff to do it. I ordered some sets of sheets myself and changed the bed. Today, 10/07/2023, I received a response from the general director saying that the hotel is a unit certified to the ISO 14001 standard, which establishes and validates the guidelines based on good practices and environmental awareness. Mr. director! They may be certified, but the certifying company is not at the unit every day to ensure the unit is well cleaned. The company will certainly let you know when it is going to carry out the verification in order to issue the certificates, and yes, at that point they should be as clean and polished as possible. I do not recommend it and for my part I will do everything to ensure that the competent authorities are aware of this and other situations that occur in this hotel unit. Unfriendly and approachable staff."
Hotel Santa Maria
"Very good. Clean and in best position. Complementary breakfast was basic but good as well."
Montebelo Mosteiro de Alcobaça Historic Hotel
"Unique minimalistic historical hotel. What an experience to stay at this hotel and visit the monetary."
Guesthouse of Alcobaça
"Arrived at the town at 1100 hours. Had to drag bag around for 5 hours. If I had known they did not open till 4 I would not have booked them. Rate this experience 2 out of 10."
Challet Fonte Nova
"We could hardly have asked for a better experience at the lovely Challet Fonte Nova. Spacious room, very comfortable bed and a very generous and very tasty breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And it’s only a 5 minute walk to the Monastery and the nearby shops and restaurants. If we return to Alcobaça we would stay there again."
Storytellers Palace
Casa Da Padeira - Turismo Rural
"The village, Aljubarrota, is itself of great historical interest. It is around 10 minutes to Alcobaca. We found the area to be very pleasant. As for the Casa da Padeira itself, the quality of service and comfort was extremely good. For example, the breakfast was excellent, as were the rooms and the immediate surroundings of the Casa. I should add that we were given a list of suggested restaurants in the vicinity which turned out to be quite useful. In all, this was a surprising, very worthwhile visit."

Quinta do Valão
Bungalows Land'Shause
"Last year I was here and, despite some hygiene problems with the water, the experience was relatively pleasant. The highlight was undoubtedly the entertainment, with Walter, a very fun Portuguese entertainer who livened up the pool daily with music and dancing. This year we decided to return, staying in a bungalow with better conditions, but unfortunately the experience was quite negative. The water was in terrible condition, the sewage pipes burst, there was a horrible smell, the grass around the pool was overgrown and overgrown, there were ants and bugs everywhere, and a lot of hair in the pool. The restaurant, however, did not convince us. The food didn't look the best and we got the impression that even the owners themselves don't eat there. The entertainment was different this year, with two very funny and energetic French people, which brought good moments of fun. However, communication was difficult: they didn't speak Portuguese and the lady responsible for translating didn't, assuming we all understood French. This caused some frustration, although the fun was guaranteed. One thing that really struck me was the situation with the animals. I love cats, and like last year, there were several of them at the place. I even brought some treats to give them, but I noticed there was a clear lack of control over their reproduction: kittens with eye and tail problems, and signs of neglect, probably because they weren't neutered. Furthermore, I saw a dog locked in a cubicle without food or water, and horses that were also poorly cared for. I spoke with an employee, and she herself confirmed that the owners don't take care of the animals, mistreat customers, and even the workers. I believe this represents a great lack of consideration and responsibility—both towards the guests and the animals themselves. We, as visitors, felt discomfort not only from the poor hygiene conditions but also from the evident suffering of the animals. It's a shame, because the place has potential, has shown good moments in the past, and could be an excellent experience. But without urgent improvements in management, maintenance, and especially in respect for animal and human well-being, I would hardly recommend it."
