Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa Reviews

Stayed here during the Meskel holidays. Checking in took some time (2 hours of waiting) since we had no choice but to go to the hotel early before the roads close. Place has modern amenities that made for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is okay, a good selection for vegans and health conscious alike.

Full marks, new room facilities, friendly service. Good breakfast. Good location. Disadvantages: The door card broke twice, the hotel's meals were too expensive, the premium was too high. The catering cost performance was not good.

The room is a bit small, but the service facilities are all ok. The only downside is that the price is really too expensive

Room facilities are good but need updating The breakfast in the hotel is not very good, and you have to go early one day and you can't prepare a lunch box (an additional charge of 15 US dollars). The breakfast is the same, which is very outrageous. There is a cake with plates and tongs in the lobby (not a welcome meal) but there is a fee, which is 15 US dollars per serving, which is very ridiculously expensive. remember! Everything in a hotel costs money, so ask before you ask for anything.

The room is very good and the hotel staff are also very enthusiastic ❤❤

Room facilities are average

Like most Hyatt Regencies, this hotel is quite solid and does the job well, being functional and good value for the money. As Globalists we were upgraded upon arrival to a suite. There was nothing wow about it and it was rather on the small side, but it was convenient having 1.5 bath and there were nice views from Meskel Square from our room. Breakfast was excellent, not only the restaurant was an inviting venue, but the food selection was on par with some of the best hotels in Asia and the Middle East. Happy hour in the club lounge was the lone weak point of this hotel in my opinion - the food was slim pickings. Service throughout the hotel was very good. Perhaps part of it was that staff do not often see young children as guests in this hotel which is more of a business hotel than a holiday destination. That said, it was quite striking that many staff were very friendly with our daughters, more so than in other places we have travelled to. The General Manager of the hotel was also visible and active, interacting with guests and with staff. He set the tone right and was a good example for staff to follow. Overall I am not a great fan of the HR brand in general because it can be a bit bland, but this hotel is quite good for what it is that I would have no hesitation returning.

We opted for a brief holiday, i am glad we settled in this fine establishment. All round perfection, MaashaAllah. Beautiful suite, great breakfast spread, room service and very supportive staff. The hotel is within town area and close to many amenities. They have a great spa to top it off.

From walking into the reception, to packing out your luggage is but a small part of the journey you are to start.Sit outside,close your eyes,hear the birds, this is Africa. Enjoyed the food, courtyard, and most of all the friendly staff, Tnx

✨ Exceptional Service at Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa ✨ I had a wonderful experience at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Addis Ababa. The service was excellent, and I would like to give special recognition to Meron Yihun, the waitress who attended to me. She was very professional, attentive, and kind, making sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. Her warm hospitality truly stood out and made my visit even more memorable. This property is one of the best Hyatts we have stayed at. It felt more like a Park Hyatt or Andaz than a Hyatt Regency, in terms of service, food quality, and on-site attractions. The Fendika cultural center is a unique and inventive partnership and really makes the property stand out. The location is excellent and provides easy access to the city and airport. Service - Check was easy and efficient. - Staff were incredibly friendly and checked in on us throughout our stay. - We were explicitly welcomed as a Hyatt Globalist at the front desk and with a note in our room. Room - The suite layout makes efficient use of space. It may not be as large as other suites, but it didn't feel small. - Two luggage racks is greatly appreciated. - Entryway bathroom in suites should have a hand towel. I think moving one from the main bathroom would be fine to avoid increasing the number of towels per room. - Some of the cabinet drawers in our room are loose/not well fitted. - Shower pressure was good. - There were plenty of power outlets and USB sockets. - The light switches were slightly unintuitive; I had to go to the entrance of the suite to shut off all the lights. Public Spaces - The lobby is elegant and spacious. Dining - The hotel breakfast buffet was quite good and had ample options available. Service was fast and polite. At other properties, I often find breakfast buffets underwhelming, and table service too slow for a quick bite. I was impressed with the options at this buffet, the speed of service, and self service options for drinks. - The cafe near the elevator is great for grab and go snacks. - They have a number of other restaurants on site and nearby. Fendika - The Fendika cultural center is an excellent partnership and was one of the highlights of our trip. - Every evening they have a program of either traditional dance and music or contemporary music such as jazz. - They also have an art gallery with works from local artists. - They serve food and drinks as well. - Tickets are cheap and advanced reservations are not required. - We met the owner, who is a well known dancer. He is very authentic and passionate about his work. He seems to be there every night and sometimes DJs. - Batiru from the front desk recommended it on our first night and we were very glad we went. We even came back on the second day! - Fendika is a huge selling point of the hotel; I would come to this hotel even if I was not a Hyatt globalist just for that.
