Econo Lodge Beach and Boardwalk

I was SO surprised by the cleanliness and updated decor of the room.Even the smoking room is clean and no odor.Super friendly staff- the electric outlets by the bed arent working, but when I told the front desk, they were so wonderful. We came to AC for a 3 day mini-vacation and decided to spend a little less on hotels so we could budget more for shopping and food. And where ready for a scary dirty smelling room- we even brought our own bedding and cleaning supplies if needed, but the room was spotless, freshly cleaned and they even had the AC on so the room was cool and comfortable right away.Location is perfect-steps away from the boardwalk. Central to the beach and shops. Perfect for dropping off purchases throughout the day. And the king bed is firm but so comfortable. My partner has really bad insomnia, but he slept like a baby. Even being right on the main road, we barely heard any street or pedestrian noise. Is the room perfect? No. There are a few minor cosmetic problems that could be fixed. But, for 60$ a night, right on the beach,I am extremely pleased. I am so glad that I didn't listen to all of the bad reviews because this place is wonderful. And I am already planning to stay here again! I would suggest bringing your own comforter if you like heavy blankets to sleep. And maybe a coffee maker (as there isnt one in our room-which is okay because we dont drink coffee). But honestly, if you want something close to the beach and shopping without breaking the bank, this is a great place.

This hotel is average for the price (cheap). My expectations are realistic, so I will say that the room is small but decent. My complaint is that the hotel advertises ”free continintal breakfast,” but upon checking in, I was informed that there is no breakfast. Yes, there is a disclaimer that states that ”due to COVID 19, some services (including food and beverages) MIGHT not be available.” It is now mid-October, 2020, and we are about seven months into this ”pandemic.” How long are hotels like this Choice Hotel Econolodge going to continue to advertise Free Breakfast when, in fact, there is no free breakfast, and how long are they going to use the Corona virus as an excuse to continue to charge guests the same rates for less service? The hotel's own transaction receipt still states that free breakfast is included in the price of the room. How long would it take, or how difficult would it be to correct the information on the website to reflect the current (and into the foreseeable future) situation? Instead, they prefer to just do nothing, knowing that they are pulling in budget-minded cutomers through false advertising? I am sure that it is profitable to reap the extra cash earned by not providing the promised service and not doing so with impunity. I, for one, do not appreciate selecting a marginally satifactory hotel for my accommodations because they offer a free breakfast only to find out that they don't. Unhappy Camper in NJ

Alpine Haus Bed & Breakfast Inn

I was attending a PSIA event early this month so I wanted a convenient place to Mountain Creek where it would be quiet, clean, and reasonably priced. Alpine Haus exceeded my expectations. The owner assisted me in getting all my bags into the room. He let me bring in food from the excellent Healthy Tymes market for my dinner, my ròom was comfortable, clean and quiet. My breakfast was delicious and he gave me extras to bring to the mountain for my classmates. And the cost was reasonable compared to staying on the mountain in one of their rooms. Next time I need to stay in the area, I'll be back.
