The place is in a beautiful location if you plan on diving/snorkelling with the hostel. But for anything else you’ll need to catch a local bus which runs every so often and finishes earlier in the day so will need to return in the afternoon or get a taxi otherwise. The place itself was very cool, bedroom and showers were nice. The place is hands off I did not meet the owners once but it was still maintained well.

Such a spectacular place to stay! The owners are extremely friendly. They are there when you need (during check in, morning of check out) but leave a lot of privacy to the guests. The unit is very well appointed, with all amenities prepared. There's a separate study/office where you can work if needed. The den overlook the pond of the shrine 50m from the residence. There is a full kitchen which we definitely enjoyed making and having dinner and breakfast there. Would go back again.

It is recommended to drive by car or chartered accommodation will be very convenient, otherwise there is a bus to Shita Station in the morning, and the bus has been taken three times. If it is not for the departure station, it will be late, and the backpackers will do a good job in advance. But maybe because of the typhoon two days ago, many people canceled their trip to watch the fireworks? be careful: 1. The door lock is to use the key to screw the safety pin to the right, so you need to use the key to turn the pin to the left and then turn the handle to open the door. 2. On the whole, it is not far from the station, but the road is similar to the uphill and downhill of a mountain city. It is still a bit tiring to climb up and bring luggage.

The night we checked into the hotel, the wind was super strong, the wind came from the Izu Plateau. The room was super big, and it was equipped with a tatami living room, where you can take photos. It's not far to walk down the mountain to the zoo and Mount Omuro, within 10 minutes. The hotel also has a car to take you there. I also took a hot spring bath. I found this hotel by chance and stayed for two nights. It felt very relaxing and comfortable. The hotel is run by a Chinese from Shanghai who immigrated to Japan, and the owner is very enthusiastic. Since the days are short and the nights are long in winter in Izu, it gets dark at five o'clock and many shops are closed. When we were wondering what to do, the shop owner offered to drive us to a convenience store to buy groceries and introduced us to a restaurant frequented by locals. After dinner, we were picked up at the restaurant and returned to the hotel. The atmosphere of the entire hotel is very leisurely. The hotel is connected to an art gallery, which is the work of the hotel owner. There is also a coffee shop that sells coffee and cakes, which are also homemade by the owner, which is quite thoughtful. There happened to be no other guests during our two-day stay, so the public hot spring facilities became private, which was quite a surprise. 😃 In the morning, there are cute little squirrels on the terrace. You can have a good cup of tea and have a leisurely breakfast before setting off for the next stop. 😎 When we left, the hotel owner even drove us to the train station, which was very considerate.

This was a very comfortable night in Izu. The bed was very soft. I went out for a walk and my whole body was sore. When I came back and lay on the bed, I felt like a salmon lying on a soft glutinous rice ball. The scenery outside the window was also very beautiful. The countryside in Japan is very Zen. The toilet was also very clean, small but well-equipped. The boss would come to pick me up in person. I came back very late that day and drove me to find something to eat. He was a very nice person.
