Hotels With Breakfast in Shanxi, China

We arrived in the evening and it was raining a lot therefore we appreciated so much their free pick up from the train station to the hotel! The structure is simply beautiful and the owners are really kind. They gifted us of a local vinegar bottle, the rooms are simple but clean and the breakfast as well is nice. The position is strategic in the city centre of the old Pingyao. They allowed us to store our luggages on the day of the departure. We definitely recommend to stay here :)

The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the ancient city. There were some international options at breakfast, which was very appreciated. The staff is helpful when you ask for information. For what I have personally experienced, the hotel was super quiet too. The room i was given (308) was clean and the bed was comfy, but I must admit it was very cramped for two people. It would serve better as a single room. Also, I think the bathroom in room 308 could use a good restyling, especially the shower. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

This stay in Datong was perfect! The homestay is located near the north city wall, and you can feel the rich history of the ancient city just by opening the window. The room is spotless and decorated in warm colors, making you feel comfortable like returning home. The boss was very enthusiastic and recommended authentic food and tourist routes like an old friend; the staff was very thoughtful and even the small requests I raised were immediately resolved. The biggest surprise is the breakfast. The freshly made Datong specialty snacks are fragrant and warm your stomach and heart with just one bite. Next time I come to Datong, I will definitely stay here again!

We traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place. Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place. 

The appearance and interior of the hotel are very modern and fashionable. The bathroom in the room is separated by dry and wet cleaning. Parking is free. The service is very considerate. It is close to Wanda and not far from the Mural Museum and Outlets. It is very convenient whether staying or traveling. There is also a delicious Chinese and Western breakfast. Worth coming again.

I booked a suite at Shanxi Hotel. Oh boy, what a stay!!! The hotel looks like a courtyard. The receptionist and the bellboy were all very cordial. They carried my luggage to the room for free. Our room was in another building so they advised us we could check out without coming back to the reception desk again. Just leave the keys in the room. The room was quite spacious with lots of amenities. I am very surprised they offer in-room laundry detergent and electric cloth dryer for hanging clothes. They consider every aspect of my stay and I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

Shanxi, a province that left a particularly good impression on me, is full of human touch everywhere. Our first stop was Datong, where we chose Laochenggen Inn. We encountered a sudden snowstorm on the way, and arrived at the inn almost in the morning. The owner was still waiting for us and even helped us with our luggage. Because I was traveling with a dog, there were many restrictions on travel, so the New Year's Eve dinner could only be arranged at the inn. The owner warmly and thoughtfully provided the venue, and I also got to know my aunt and her family from Hebei who were living with me. In the evening, the two families made dumplings together, and during the conversation we actually found people we knew in common. It was truly an acquaintance across thousands of miles. The service, temperature, bedding and environment of the inn were all very comfortable, allowing us to spend an unforgettable New Year's Eve! Next time I come to Datong, I will choose Laochenggen again!

The location is not too bad, it is within a cluster of many newly built homestays. I chose this place for its zen design style and it is newly opened, and i read in thr review that there was free coffee provided during breakfast. Therefore i was rather dissappointed when i found out that there is no such thing, coffee is chargeable. I was glad that i brought my own drip coffee to supplement the breakfast. Although my room was eligible for 2 breakfasts, i was only provided with 1 set of breakfast and not offered any replacement for the other breakfast set that i did not take. The room size is just nice for 1 person with luggage. Bathroom+toilet was quite large in comparison to the bedroom. My room overlook the opposite facility, the window can be opened to let in fresh air. There is washing machine+dryer on the ground floor. The girls at the lobby was nice to help me manage my laundry. I was glad that i could use the large table at the lobby for my work. It is an irony that there is a non smoking signboard in the room together with an ashtray....

We had a good experience staying here. They were patient with our lack of ability to speak Chinese and we’re prepared to communicate through translation apps. The room was well accommodated and clean. Bottled water was provided and a traditional Chinese breakfast was available each morning. If you need your coffee in the morning to get started, you will need to bring your own or is it one of the coffee stands throughout town. The hotel is on one of the Backstreets next to a park and requires about a five minute walk to get to the main shopping streets, but as result is also quiet. thanks for a great day.

Very good hotel, the most comfortable hotel under Huazhu! Very close to the West Station, there is also a pick-up service~ The most commendable hotel service staff attitude and breakfast. The service staff will greet you, take the initiative to send hot tea, and share the food on the street opposite (I had delicious iron pot braised noodles). There were some small episodes when checking in, which were all solved smoothly. The breakfast was very exquisite, and each dish tasted good. We almost didn't eat much because we left early. The waiter packed it for us, asked us if it was enough for one box, and gave us an empty box for us to do it ourselves. Such a good hotel is so affordable, I will recommend it to all friends who come to Linfen!
