We understand that this is a newly opened hotel and perhaps they had never hosted foreign guests with a special visa (non-tourist visa) before. However, we had a very unpleasant experience. Around midnight, the staff nearly forced us to leave the hotel, assuming that we had overstayed simply because our entry date into China was more than 30 days ago.
We are two women traveling together, and being almost kicked out of the hotel in the middle of the night was extremely stressful and unsafe.
On the positive side, the location is convenient — only a 7-minute walk to the famous Shantang Road.
Tips for future guests: the hot tub is on the outdoor terrace, but since the weather is still warm and there are many mosquitoes, it’s not really enjoyable. Overall, it was not worth the money.

[Five-star praise] Nanjing Banxia Homestay (Huanglong Yiyi Store) - a perfect holiday to heal the body and mind!
This time I stayed at Banxia B&B, I really gave me too many surprises! From the moment I stepped into the B&B, every detail can feel the intention of the master. The courtyard of the white wall and green tiles is interesting with the green mountains and green waters of Huanglongxuan, as if I lived in the painting.
✨ In the early morning, I looked at the mist of the distant mountains by the pool. In the evening, I soaked in the water to watch the sunset and dyed the red sky. I felt a blockbuster shot. The homestay also prepared a floating afternoon tea intimately. When I was tired, I had a glass of iced drink. I felt full of happiness in an instant.
💛 The housekeeper contacted to confirm the demand one day in advance, and helped with luggage and introduced the surrounding gameplay when he arrived at the store. Every small detail is caring like a friend, and there is no sense of commercial alienation at all.
🌿 The location of the homestay is excellent. The tea field and bamboo sea are opened by the window. In the morning, I was awakened by the birdsong. I can walk to Huanglong Tea Culture Village in a few minutes. I especially like the hiking trail in the back mountain of the homestay. The eyes are green and the stream is gurgling. I take a deep breath and the air is sweet.
🍃 The design of the room is simple and not lost in texture. The log furniture is matched with cotton and linen fabric, and the bedding is soft as if sleeping in a cloud. At night, I shake the fan on the terrace to see the stars, and I collapse in a hanging chair during the day to read a book, completely away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Next time you come to Nanjing, you must have two brushes! Whether it is a couple's holiday, a parent-child trip, or a person to empty, here can let you find the ideal life appearance ~

For my trip to Suzhou, I chose the Crowne Plaza after seeing many recommendations online. It definitely lived up to its online reputation; the lake view was absolutely stunning. Upon entering the lobby, you're immediately greeted by a panoramic and absolutely gorgeous lake view. The hotel's decor is also very grand and impressive. Its overall architecture, resembling a cruise ship, is truly unique. What's particularly worth praising is the hotel's breakfast. The restaurant is very spacious and located right by the lake, offering fantastic views. Plus, the breakfast spread is incredibly rich and diverse, with so many options to choose from. The complimentary travel photoshoot from 'Seven Degrees' (七度旅拍) offered by the hotel was a pleasant surprise and quite good. The photographer was very dedicated and professional, and I was also very pleased with how the photos turned out. Highly recommended!

This hotel is truly excellent! After a long search for a hotel, I ultimately chose this one for its sky lobby, anticipating a quiet and peaceful stay. Before arrival, the hotel proactively called to confirm our room arrangements and thoughtfully assigned us two connecting rooms. Once we checked in and opened the connecting door, the kids were absolutely thrilled! And the breakfast? Also spectacular! To my pleasant surprise, they even gifted me a tea set upon check-out! 😂 The hotel's location is incredibly convenient for exploring the surrounding area, saving us the hassle of constantly shuttling between different attractions. An added bonus, especially in the humid southern climate, is that staying on a high floor effectively avoids the common dampness and musty odors often found in hotels. Highly recommend!

The hotel staff were very warm and friendly, always smiling and approachable. I'd like to commend Joy at the check-in counter for her patience and thoroughness. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was abundant. We even renew

I've stayed at numerous Marriott hotels, and this one was quite disappointing. The parking lot is tiny with no EV charging points. The robot delivery for our food order was slow, and I couldn't find any staff on the ground floor when I went down. There was a vent right outside our room door blowing hot air. Also, I couldn't help but notice that some staff seemed very patient with foreign guests, but less friendly towards domestic visitors. Was it just my impression?

Driven by the excellent food and service at the Horizon Club, I switched from Shangri-La Yangzhou to Shangri-La Nanjing, embarking on another culinary adventure.
1. **Location**: The Shangri-La Hotel Nanjing boasts an excellent location. It's just one subway stop from Nanjing Railway Station, and the hotel is right next to the subway exit, making it incredibly convenient for exploring other attractions by metro.
2. **Guest Room**: A huge thank you to Manager Xiao Jiang at the Horizon Club for arranging the only lake-view suite on the 41st floor and for granting me a late check-out until 3 PM. The room was spacious and bright, with a generously sized living room and bedroom, both featuring full floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of Purple Mountain and Xuanwu Lake. However, as the hotel has been open for some time, the room design inevitably had a few drawbacks. Firstly, there was no separate walk-in closet in the suite; I had to go into the washroom to change. Secondly, the luggage counter was rather small and high, which would be inconvenient for guests with a lot of luggage. Thankfully, the housekeeping staff quickly brought a luggage rack, providing a proper spot for my suitcase. Most importantly, the toilet in the bathroom wasn't separated by a door; it was openly situated next to the vanity, which significantly compromised privacy and convenience. While not a smart toilet, the heated seat was a comfortable touch.
3. **Dining**: The Horizon Club's dining options certainly lived up to Shangri-La's standards, with breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour all being very lavish. However, perhaps due to the sheer number of guests, the management felt a bit disorganized. Not only did the kitchen's food quality seem to decline—some dishes were bland, making me wonder if salt was forgotten or if they weren't cooked evenly—but the service quality also appeared to struggle. During breakfast, I asked a Horizon Club staff member if they could get me some Laoganma chili sauce from the downstairs restaurant, but they replied they couldn't leave their post. I then asked a chef, who promised to bring it, but perhaps they were too busy or forgot, as it only arrived after I had finished my meal. It felt like Nanjing's approach was different from Yangzhou's; the upstairs and downstairs restaurants seemed strictly segregated, preventing staff from cross-fetching items. What confused me, though, was that the soup dumplings I ordered and the pan-fried dumplings I picked up were clearly from the downstairs restaurant, as they arrived a bit cold. At Shangri-La Yangzhou's Horizon Club, staff would either ask the chefs or personally retrieve items upon request. Nevertheless, I must say, the à la carte duck blood vermicelli soup, seaweed wontons, beef noodles, and Eggs Benedict at the Horizon Club breakfast were quite good.
The next day, when I had breakfast on the second floor, I discovered that, just as other reviews mentioned, the downstairs restaurant offered a much more extensive spread. There was a wide variety of Western breads and pastries, including large and fragrant caramelized egg tarts kept warm in a warmer, maintaining their fresh-from-the-oven quality. They also had trendy items like butter mochi, mochi yolk pastries, and kid-friendly treats like marshmallows, popcorn, and mini cupcakes—my eyes were truly overwhelmed by the choices. The Chinese section boasted delicious handmade soup dumplings, beef potstickers, siew mai, large pork buns, and duck blood vermicelli soup. Even the whole grain options like sweet potatoes and corn looked impressively large and generously prepared. However, when I asked the staff if I could order Eggs Benedict, they said they had never heard of it.
Honestly, when evaluating a hotel's dining, I often prioritize whether they offer handmade food, especially at breakfast. I particularly dislike places that are filled entirely with reprocessed frozen foods; it just feels very insincere. Finally, I must also thank Sherry from the hotel's pastry shop for the delicious mini cakes and mung bean cakes delivered to our room. They were a wonderful surprise and a comforting treat after being out.
4. **Scenery**: Of course, a visit to Shangri-La Nanjing wouldn't be complete without checking out their rooftop helipad, but unfortunately, the weather wasn't good, so I missed out on the rumored stunning views. However, what I was very pleased with was the short walk—just a few minutes—from the hotel to Xuanwu Lake. It happened to be the lotus season, and strolling by the lake, I was greeted by the sight of 'lotus leaves stretching endlessly green to the sky, and lotus flowers under the sun glowing with a unique red.' As far as the eye could see, vast expanses of lotus leaves, like small umbrellas, swayed in the wind, creating gentle green ripples. Pink and white lotus blossoms bloomed in profusion, dotted amongst the green foliage, appearing exceptionally clear and elegant. Colorful pleasure boats crisscrossing the lake added a vibrant touch to Xuanwu Lake.
In summary, I was generally satisfied with this stay. At check-out, I even received some delightful hotel-made palmiers, which was a lovely touch. I will definitely choose Shangri-La again on my next trip to Nanjing.

As a long-established five-star hotel, the service is absolutely outstanding – warm, attentive, and professional. The location couldn't be more convenient! The subway station is right downstairs, and Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area is directly across the street. Gulou (Drum Tower) is also very close by, making it incredibly easy to get around to all the major attractions. The hotel's buffet breakfast consistently delivers excellent quality, truly living up to its five-star standard. The views from our floor were unparalleled, offering breathtaking panoramas of Xuanwu Lake and the Nanjing cityscape. The only minor quibble is that the main entrance is at the back of the building, which took a little searching for us first-timers, especially since the front desk is located on the 23rd floor. This made our initial check-in a bit confusing! Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic!

For my recent business trip to Nanjing, I chose to stay at the InterContinental Nanjing Zifeng, and the entire experience, from check-in to check-out, far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Zifeng Tower area, within walking distance of the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for both business travelers and those wanting to explore attractions like Xuanwu Lake, Jiming Temple, and Laomendong. The room was well-appointed and meticulously maintained. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and the lake, creating a truly atmospheric ambiance when the city lights came alive at night. The bedding was perfectly soft, allowing me to quickly unwind and fall asleep after a busy day. What truly impressed me the most was Alice from the front desk and her thoughtful service during a swift check-out!

XXavierasyI booked a suite for 2 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott the night before I came from Xi'an because I wanted to visit Niushoushan, Jinling Xiaocheng, and other tourist spots nearby.
The location of the Courtyard is actually not bad; it's right beside the Hedingqiao metro station, and many food booths and convenience stores are just downstairs. You can buy takeaway at any time. The reception staff is nice and helpful and can speak very good English, no doubt.
The worst was the concierge. One of the concierge staff has been playing on his cellphone every single moment. I took Didi or the metro at least 4 or 5 times every day. Every time I pass through the entrance, he is playing on his phone.
The most frustrating part was when I ordered takeaway through the app. The delivery man said he placed it on the concierge cart right next to that guy, but someone took my package, and he didn't notice. YEAH, How could he possibly know if he was preoccupied with his phone ?!

11595191****Located in the Science and Technology City of Suzhou High-tech Zone, the surrounding area integrates the elements of ”technology, landscape, and humanities” and is close to an artificial lake. The environment is quiet and suitable for vacation.
The hotel is close to Taihu Avenue and has convenient transportation, but the business atmosphere in the Science and Technology City area is relatively quiet, and you need to travel a short distance to nearby commercial entities.
With environmental protection, natural landscape and family-friendly facilities as its core advantages, Element Suzhou is suitable for tourists seeking a quiet vacation or a short business trip. Its kitchen configuration and parent-child services are particularly outstanding, but improvements need to be made in terms of spraying less air freshener and surrounding convenience.

GGuest UserThe RV we booked has a separate RV barbecue area. The RV is clean and sanitary. The upper and lower bunks for children are narrow but also very delicate, clean, and safe. They are soft-padded and the children like them very much. The outdoor environment is particularly good, with a small train, a cruise ship, and a children's play area. The scenic area is relatively large, and the room service is also great. You can call the front desk at any time to arrange a sightseeing bus to pick you up.

LLinxinrongThe environment was excellent – very quiet and comfortable. The room offered a great, expansive view. The reception service was warm, thorough, and attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to the area.
WWGZ TanOur recent two-night stay at the Suzhou Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel exceeded all expectations, creating a memorable experience that exemplifies luxury hospitality at its finest.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by their adorable canine ambassador, Kylie the Labrador, setting the tone for the warm hospitality to follow. The check-in service was remarkably efficient, with special recognition to Rainbow who ensured our party of three couples, including elderly parents, received accessible room upgrades. The staff's attentiveness was evident throughout our stay—they greeted us in corridors, anticipated our needs, and maintained a perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness.
The rooms were impeccable, featuring premium bedding, turndown service, and high-end amenities including Dyson hair dryers. The quality of in-room offerings far surpassed what one would typically expect from a hotel at this price, demonstrating their commitment to excellence down to the smallest detail.
The property beautifully integrates historical courtyards and buildings, creating tranquil outdoor spaces perfect for relaxation. Bar 168 became our favorite evening gathering spot for social hour and drinks, offering the perfect atmosphere to unwind after exploring the city. We were there during a heat wave and were perfectly contented to not leave the hotel at all.
Breakfast was truly an event worth anticipating each morning at their black pearl rated restaurant. The diverse selection included both Western and Chinese cuisine, with standout features being the made-to-order noodles, wonton, and egg station. We particularly appreciated how staff consistently offered tea or coffee upon arrival, ensuring we always had a warm beverage to enjoy with our meal.
The hotel's strategic location offers unparalleled convenience—situated directly above an MRT station and adjacent to a modern shopping area. For those seeking cultural experiences, a short 15-minute walk leads to the historical tourist district, making this property perfect for first-time visitors to Suzhou through winding neighbourhood streets.
We extend our gratitude to Cherry for a smooth checkout process, and even the hotel's merchandise—particularly the keychains—provided charming mementos of our stay.
The Suzhou Kimpton Bamboo Grove Hotel represents hospitality at its finest, and we cannot recommend it highly enough for travelers seeking an exceptional experience in Suzhou.

GGuest UserFood: Breakfast was varied, with western, asian and local. We had Dinner at the main buiding using ******* set menu and it was a good deal, as the 2 person deal is enough to feed 4 and tasted quite delicious.
Location: it is a resort so you are going to spend most of the time on the resort ground. We booked 3 day 2 night and the time was enough to explore everything. Nice scenery.
Amenities: only a few activities were covered in our package so it will depend on your package. The package was confusing and we didnt know exactly all the activities that were free or cost extra. The reception on check in should have explained all of this upon check in, but maybe they are not trained, or maybe because our accomadation at pinecone is considered 4 star so they used lower quality staff. All the free stuff are a bit lame and service was poor except for the craft lady who actually showed us a wechat app for the hotel where free activity voucher can be found. They outsourced the activity area so that is really poor decision as it hurts the brand image due to service levels. For hotel staff, thumbs up to the shuttle ladies, who you call to get from one place to another. They are prompt and speedy.
Service: check in staff was professional but not warm. As mentioned, the activity area is outsourced so most staff are cold and seemed rude, except for the craft lady who was actually decent. But considering this resort and the type of guest, i would consider this really bad.
Cleaniness: the room is very clean, a bit worn (see pics of wall), but it feels quite clean.

SShanshanI happened to pick this hotel, and it turned out to be incredibly convenient. Getting around was easy, and it was even better for sightseeing and shopping with Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) and Laomendong (Old East Gate) right on the doorstep. Sanqi Eight Lane was also very close by. Plus, there were tons of snack stalls right downstairs. I absolutely loved the location!
The lobby is on the second floor, and the staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. As a tourist, I felt very welcomed and truly experienced the city's warmth. Check-in was smooth, and when I entered my room, I was genuinely satisfied – no disappointment at all! The room had warm, inviting colors, the bathroom was spotless, and the entire room was very comfortable. Plus, it even had a mini-fridge, which was a great bonus!
Complimentary fruit was provided daily. But what truly stood out was that the front desk proactively checked in every day, asking if everything was satisfactory and how my stay was going. This level of attentiveness was truly exceptional, and I never expected such outstanding service in Nanjing's hospitality industry.
Personally, if I ever return to Nanjing, I would absolutely choose this hotel again.
