Cabanas meaning in the English language : ”a hut, cabin, or shelter at a beach or swimming pool” And it was even worse than the name Umhlanga Cabanas. We looked forward to holiday in Umhlanga! And it's totally ruined by Umhlanga Cabanas. Not properly communicating to as at booking stage. We traveled 700km in peak traffic on Friday and was utterly disappointed by every single thing in this unit, staff, NOISY GUESTS and the resort as a whole. First of all, the pictures on the web are totally not a true reflection of the overall state of your establishment. There is only one washing machine and tumble dryer for 80 units + or 300 people!! This is unacceptable! Unhygienic ! Nobody communicated to us from the start when we made the booking that we are not going TO BE allowed to smoke on the balcony! AND MUST WALK 4 FLOORS DOWN FOR EVERY CIGARETTE! OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE BOOKED ELSEWHERE! We were on the 4th floor, and every time I needed to smoke, I had to walk 4 floors down ! There is no close by lift access! I had walked up 20 times down the stairs to smoke! Therefore we checked out on the first morning of the stay. WE RATHER LEFT THE It is a horrible situation, and you treat guests like it's a concentration camp ! There is also NO COVERED PARKING FOR ALL THE GUESTS! Other guests partied right through the night and shouted and listened to hard music.I informed the security guy and he pretended that he heard nothing the previous evening and morning at 03.00 am.Waited for a rude and aggressive manager to arrive until 08.00am and he just ignored the situation!- Sheldon is his name or something And came up with a lot of excuses. The bath was ruined and damaged inside. No easy access to restaurants and shopping at all! There is no parking available anywhere at day or night and beach access is also to far. Well done for ruining my holiday!!

We stayed in apartment 408 and it was disappointing. Firstly the photos on the website and the actual furniture and decor are not the same. In fact, some of the photos are misleading. The unit accommodates four people, but there are only three seats provided in the lounge area, so one of has always had to sit on the patio. The one toilet seat is broken, and even though we reported it, nothing was done. The patio door lock doesn't lock, so we felt a little bit uneasy at night. The main bedroom door leading to the patio, which is a nice feature, could not be used because there isn't a key for it. And the windows definitely needs some cleaning. Whist the view from the patio on the channel leading to the harbour is great (there is no view on the main harbour as implied) the netting covering the patio is bit of an irritance. But this is understandable as it is advertised as a per friendly apartment, but it is something to be aware of before you make your booking. The net in no way disturbs the view but it will definitely give the patio a more open feeeing if there is not net. So my advise, unless you're visiting with pets, look for another apartment in PWA. The area and location is great.
