Aparthotel Oporto Sol
4.1/532 Reviews
I recently spent four nights at Aparthotel Oporto Sol, and while my stay was overall okay, it came with a few drawbacks. First, the location is a bit outside the main area of Porto, which required some extra effort to get into the heart of the city. While the surroundings were quiet and less crowded, I did find myself relying on public transport or taxis more than I would have liked. One of the main issues was the absence of air conditioning in the bedroom. During my stay, the temperatures were warm, and it made things uncomfortable at night. Opening the windows was not an option due to the presence of mosquitoes outside, which meant I struggled to find a comfortable sleeping temperature. On the positive side, the apartment itself was spacious and generally clean. The amenities were adequate for my needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, albeit a few blocks over. I appreciated the kitchenette, which allowed me to prepare some of my own meals during my stay. In summary, while my stay at Aparthotel Oporto Sol had its merits, the lack of air conditioning and its location outside the main area impacted my overall experience. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer to be in the city center, you may want to consider other options. Otherwise, it serves as a decent accommodation for those seeking a quieter spot.
My Story Apartments Porto - Santa Catarina

Super nice and cozy room, however its supposed to run as Airbnb not a Hotel, you wont get cleaning services during your stay, water for the first day even and the communication to access on checkin is troublesome-like airbnb. - Checkin/out: They didnt send the checkin information in advance, and expecting you to write them an email to get it (when you dont expect to do so for a hotel-services) - same on checkout. Hope they received the email I sent via trip.com - Room type: The room isn’t the same as in the room photo when you booked, its another one. The one we stayed has no sofa and balcony. - No water even on the first day, cook yourself by using the kettle or drink from tap (which not recommended in portugal) - Cleaning: The room is clean and niche, but dont expect any cleaning services during the whole stay. - Noise from the street: mostly day and night as its in very central walking street.

Centeally located unique accommodations close to everything. #2 is the size of a good studio and has just about everything you need. It does lack a closet area so I had to improvise using a shelf and two chairs for my clothes. I made do. The breakfast was jist right and fresh. The coffee was delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly. There was easy access with a key code. A few things to note besides the closet. There are no blackout shades. There are shutters and they do let in a little light. Also, the laundry is not on sight, however, the laundrymat is near. About 4 blocks. As others have mentioned the noise can be an issue. It quiets down at night but intermittently there and it is at the mouth of a tunnel so at times amplifies! No napsduring the day, unless noise does not bother you. That is an unfortunate downside because it really is a darling place.

Location is really nice and near to Ben Santo Station. but the light is too dark in the room and not that clean include the shower booth. I could not open the terrace window because there is homeless in front of the building. Another thing is the host. I was looking for the wine opener but there wasn't. I called to host and he just said please re-find wine opener again and again. Even already I searched the opener several time. He ended up not bringing me a wine opener or giving me any feedback about it.

I dreamed to live in this type of room. Ordered earlier in Prague, it didn't work. The hotel (studio apartment) very liked. Recipeshen nearby, on the same street. The administrator is very kind, carried out, showed everything. The family room, I was alone. Upstairs sleep warmer. There's an air conditioner. The welcome portwain is very delicious! In the room everything is available: refrigerator, teapot, pans, stove, safe. I'm not in a suitcase, I was OK, but with a suitcase it will be hard to get up to the room. Hotel in the center, near the metro, supermarkets.

Comfortable stay, helpful and friendly staff, great central location, good value breakfast and a nice rooftop bar with a garden area that was relaxing to sit in and chat in the evening and after breakfast and look over at the cathedral view or enjoy the fountain. Room/apartment was clean, and bed comfortable although one of my pillows a bit old I think. There is a gym with cycle, cross-trainer and running machine but an oddly random and very limited selection of free weights. There was no drinking water in the gym when I visited. We didn't try the spa/massage facilities, which are an advertised attraction. Bathroom towels seemed to be replaced whether placed on the floor or not. Guests departing by taxi on a weekend would be advised to allow plenty of time as traffic was heavy and traffic control system allowing selective access via a retractable bollard seemed not to work well so our taxi arrived over 20 minutes after the time arranged.

Location: Advantages, not far from St. Benedict Train Station, about 5.6 hundred meters. The disadvantage is that it's all up the mountain, and dragging luggage is like zipping. Service: I can't say enough good about it. He helped us book tickets to Lello Bookstore and taxis. He also enthusiastically introduced us to various attractions, how to get there by bus and the approximate distance and time. The room is cleaned every 2 days and is very clean. There is a kitchen and various utensils and pots, which finally satisfies the Chinese stomach. The breakfast is boxed and cannot be finished at all. Surrounding environment: Downhill is Battle Square, uphill is Freedom Square, and there are countless supermarkets, shopping malls, and restaurants within 100 meters. Most of the attractions are within an hour's walk (all are mountain roads). The only drawback is that the bathroom has a bit of a smell. I guess this is a common problem in old apartments.

On arrival, you must go to the reception of the brand's hotel, located at number 29 on the Place de la République, 100 m from the apartments. There you can leave your vehicle in the hotel's private car park for €15 for 24 hours, if a space is available (no reservation). The location allows you to reach the tourist centre on foot in 10 minutes and the Quai da Ribeira in 15 minutes. The studios are on the street side, the T2s are on the courtyard side. The studios are brighter but also more exposed to traffic noise. The apartments are a little darker but quieter. In both cases, there are no curtains so for privacy you have to lower the blind a little (especially on the street side during the week because there are offices opposite). In all cases, ask to be on the highest floor (there are 7). The building is recent and both the decor and the equipment are modern and will satisfy most people. Finally, the price/quality ratio is very good.

My first stay here and also my first visit to Porto. Want to start by saying this was a jackpot. This is in a great area, the amenities were all impeccable, everything really clean. The room itself was even better than I tought it was going to be. Specially, since it was at such a low price. Beds very comfortable and having the balcony in this room was a great plus for me as a smoker. If you want to stay in a great area of Porto, very central and with awesome accessibility. In a great and comfortable room, for an awesome price. I totally recommend you to book.

I stumbled upon this gem and I’m glad I did! Communication with the property managers was a breeze. I was traveling solo. I cannot begin to say how thankful am for all of the help I received during my stay. The staff delivered impeccable service. The whole team was amazing! Thank you to Francisco, he was my driver to and from the airport. Very professional. Luz is a doll! Very professional, thoughtful, and super efficient. Rita, Nuno, Paulo, and Rafaela also made this trip special for me. I received suggestions to restaurants, tours, and even had the convenience of booking through them! My apartment was exactly as pictured. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was quiet and conveniently located within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shopping, and historical places. There is a staff member available 24 hrs a day! Lastly, this trip was a birthday gift to myself. Upon returning to the apartment the staff had given me a birthday card! Luz, Rita, Francisco, Paulo, Nuno, and Rafaela thank you so much for everything! Regards ☺️
