The hotel is right at the entrance of the ski resort and you can Ski in/Out. Guests of the hotel in Figure 3 can get a discount on the ski pass price. Our price for three days was 25,400 yen. There are very few people in the ski resort unless there is heavy snowfall. Very few people. There are several restaurants in the hotel, and you need to make a reservation for dinner in the evening. The taste is good. There are ski lockers on the first floor for free. Friendly advice, try to bring your own shoes and boards. The shoes rented by the ski resort are very loose and the boards are heavy and hard.
Our stay at Yukinohana Ryokan was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality that made us feel at home. The blend of traditional Japanese elegance with modern comfort made for an unforgettable experience.
The service was impeccable. Every staff member was attentive, kind, and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made a lasting impression.
Yukinohana’s location is also excellent, just a short walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, making it convenient for travelers. We can’t wait to return!
The first time I stayed at a hot spring hotel in Japan, I encountered a super cold current and a blizzard, which did not affect the mood of this experience. From the reception of check-in, the room is clean and tidy, to the departure of the hotel, the counter staff helps to check whether the train has stopped and arranges a shuttle bus to Miyagi Station. The whole experience is very good.
This is our 3rd week of 4 weeks exploring Japan and so far Yuzawa Grand is the best Ryokan Onsen experience we have had. We could have spent several days there it was sublime. We arrived in the morning and the staff were extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. We had been told by the tourist centre at the train station that the gondola wasn’t operational for 3 days; however the Yuzawa Receptionist assured us that it was operating and showed us that they were even able to sell us tickets at a discount. She gave us a map and bus timetable, showing us where everything was. They stored our backpacks for us and off we went exploring and had a marvellous time. We soaked our feet in the foot baths while having a treat before catching the bus to the mountains. We came back to our gorgeous room which had a coffee pod machine in it. Was so nice having a coffee in the morning looking out the window. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful Onsens before dinner. The buffet at both dinner and breakfast was incredible, everything so beautifully presented and incredibly delicious.
Highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. The staff are fantastic and the ambiance very peaceful.
It seems that renovation work will be underway until December 15th.
Ritchia is very nice.
The buffet was also very enjoyable with a very extensive menu.
The hotel is in a great location, with a car rental company and a large supermarket across the street. There aren't many dining options nearby. There's a smoky yakitori restaurant and a Western-style hamburger place. Breakfast is simple and all-you-can-eat. There's a ********* lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese. It's close to the bus stop, and you can go up to the rooftop to watch the stars.
During the cherry blossom season in 2025, I chose Dormy Inn in all three cities. What I like most about Dormy Inn Niigata is that the room door faces the open-air atrium, which is spacious and bright, with fresh air, much more comfortable than the closed corridor. It is rare to find a hotel with this structure, and I really like it.
Nice hotel withe rooms of various sizes. For me it was spacious enough. Bed was comfortable, would have liked one more cushion.
Room was clean an I liked that i could open the window. It was quite hot in the room because the heater was turned on. Even if i turned it off hot air came out.
Room was clean and had everything i needed. You can also get things at the front desk.
Breakfast was buffetstyle and really very good with a lot of choises, both Japanese, local and western.
Location was very convenient near the train station. About max a 5 minutes walk. Near the hotel there are a lot of places to eat or have a drink. At the station is a shopping mall.
The lady at the counter was so accommodating. Provided everything we needed and was happy to help in any other way. Spoke a little English but used google translate to help. We couldn't use the dining room for dinner, I think that had to be booked in advance. There was only one or two other places open in town at 7.30pm for dinner. So wasn't many options. The room had stains all over the floor, but otherwise the beds were clean, and comfortable being on the harder springy side, and the bathroom was very clean. The onsen was amazing. The room was a good size, and had extra toilets down the hall if we needed them. The Japanese breakfast that was provided was fantastic. We only stayed one night because we were walking the next day just near there otherwise would have stayed in a bigger town, because of the limited outside facilities. But for the price and it was convenient it was good. Would stay again if I had to, but otherwise would go for a bit nicer place.
In the old resort hotel, the waiter has a kind of old-fashioned and honest devotion. In order to book dinner, he called me five or six times to arrange and confirm. Because the hotel is halfway up the mountain, every meal I ate at the hotel. I ate French, shabushabu and Italian, and the standard was good. Hotel hot spring is the best hot spring in Japan in recent years. Akakura Sightseeing Snow Resort also feels more ancient and wild, and has a unique flavor.

EEdmund PWProperty is set in a very quiet and peaceful environment. Very clean and modern. Well maintained after its renovation. There are plenty of free parking space.
Room is big but unfortunately without shower/bath - a big negative for the property. There are two common showers for the whole hotel which must be busy during peak seasons. I recommend the hotel especially during off peak season when you can use the public showers. Otherwise you have to use the bathing facilities in the onsen.

KKeyukeweisikeliweiIt is a family-style hot spring hotel for more than 160 years. It has been passed on by three generations of members of the family. It is a charming hot spring hotel with a view of Kamao Lake on Shinjuku Sado Island. The breakfast and dinner are delicious. The Japanese-style room is spacious and bright. We stayed for two nights and left the hotel. The hotel manager personally sent it by car. We went to the ferry, this stay felt comfortable and comfortable, thank you again for the store!
GGuest UserThe hotel is new, the staff service is good, the rock bath is very comfortable (500 yen for free), the hotel is not expensive, and the room has a great view. The food for breakfast and dinner is Japanese set meal, both are delicious😋. Overall worth a visit.
GGuest UserThe hotel is equipped with ski rental and selling ski lift tickets around it. The price is cheaper than buying on the spot. Breakfast is good and the owner is friendly. Some rooms require public toilets. The train to the hotel is very alienated. There are no restaurants nearby. If you want to dine out in the city at night, you must relocate to the return train or take a taxi. I hope the hotel can install a washing machine.
