Dissatisfied with Ctrip and the hotel communication, the original reservation for two nights, but due to the itinerary change, I need to go to Rotterdam in advance (or the hotel booked on Ctrip, I had Ctrip's APP at that time), I arranged to refund one night at the time of check-in, The hotel agreed and arranged to refund me one night's tax and breakfast (not Ctrip's purchase), and Ctrip also promised to arrange a refund for one night; but due to Ctrip's communication delay, it was not possible to refund one night, wasting my money, time and trust in Ctrip; So it feels like there is no drama in the front and behind;
Front desk services commendable n breakfast good spread. Recommended by staff to Try the restaurant at the far end coastline where they served fresh seafood n beer. Great recommendation! Don’t miss it..
Well located hotel with easy walking distance to all interesting attractions -Clean room and friendly staff
This accomodation once looked like it was very Grand in a type of New York 1950s style but a rejuvenation is maybe required in some areas of the hotel. This reflects the Rack rate per room.Would stay again if visiting this area of the Netherlands.
The Location of the hotel is very good. It is located directly near Eendrachtsplein Metro Station. There are Terminals for check in which is convenient. You don't find a conventional reception as in other hotels (But still located directly next to the entrance door). The staff is very Helpful and Friendly. The rooms are neat and clean. The rooms at night are a bit loud as it is directly located on the crossroads/junction depending on the room allocated. Will definitely recommend it.
I booked this stay for my parents, they really enjoyed their stay. They loved the location of the hotel, because they could take the tram or metro to visit us and go the Zuidplein or the city. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
The hotel is located near Corpus. Parking is paid 17.5 euros. The room was stuffy. The air conditioner did not work. The bed was comfortable. The light bulb in the bathroom was constantly flickering. A bit dark.
It's okay to spend a couple of nights. The photos on Trip correspond to reality.
Hotel was in a good location, right next to the metro and lots of lovely restaurants nearby. For the price, I thought the amenities in the room were lacking. No iron, some of the sachets eg. Shoe shine was torn open, a wine glass was missing, bare minimum of tea options, the bath took 40 minutes to drain, and the hot water was BURNING - burnt myself (no warning). I usually don’t complain about stays but as this a highly rated hotel and for the price I paid, I was disappointed.
In the last 6 months, I have stayed at the hotel every week. Because it is a new hotel, there are (many) childhood diseases that occur. Remove alarms at night, reservation errors, restaurant errors, poor quality food, no newspaper, rigid staff .....but continuously improved this significantly. The last few weeks was all top-regulated! Small-off!

RRaymond J GNice hotel, good location. We rented a suite for a combined business and pleasure trip. Hotel is rights above a supermarket. Be careful!! Supermarket delivery trucks keep you from sleeping at night. Also Internet connection not working. Strongly recommend to not stay here. At least not when you are expecting a good night sleep.....Only poor excuse was offered. Friendly staff, just noisy rooms. Stay away!

GGuest UserSmart hotel in a good location for exploring historical Gouda. Well-equipped and comfortable room - with kettles available (although not in the room as standard). Nice high pressure shower, good aircon, nice, quiet room. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked really nice. There was lots of rather strange, slightly unnerving artwork of people eating cheese... The artwork looked AI generated and overall felt cheap and at odds with the rest of the hotel's design.
The hotel made a show about being eco and 'environmental', however the bathroom cups were wrapped in plastic - this is completely needless (no one ever wraps the coffee cups in plastic!).
Worryingly, on check-in the receptionist insisted that I hadn't paid in advance and made me pay on the spot. When I later checked this I found that, as I thought, I HAD indeed paid in advance. To be fair, when I showed her evidence on my phone she immediately initiated a refund, but really - how can that be allowed to happen?? Surely it should all be on the hotel's system. If I hadn't spotted the mistake I would have paid twice. Not impressed!

LLimOur stay with The James Rotterdam was honestly amazing, front desk was always friendly and helpful and of course the location of the hotel was great as well!
Everything was perfect up until the night before we checked out. Thankfully we were up a little late as we were packing our luggages to leave the next day, when suddenly we heard our door opened, and a man came in, there seemed to be another one waiting by the door. They didn’t seemed “shock” as if like “hey why were we assigned a room with guests still in it”. They said something in their language and they left the room. Next morning we checked with the front desk, she said she was also handling the night shift and had no one came down to report anything about wrong room assignment. Afterwards we left as we were rushing for the train to the airport and the matter was left like that.
We checked out on 11th May around 620-630am, our room number was 703.
If the hotel could kindly look into this matter, we would much appreciate this. Thank you.
CCindyTsangI was first assigned to a room without a bathtub which it’s different from my order. Then the hotel changed me to a room that the air conditioning was broken. We waited there for an hour and started to feel sick due to the air tight and hot environment. When I came back after sight seeing, I was enrolled to a room with better view and a bathtub. The air conditioning is old, but still functioning. Sometimes cold, sometimes cool with wind only.
Location is wonderful, 1 min walk to the left.
Hygiene, I only see housekeeper cleaning and tidying up the room, but the carpets outside and inside the hotel were damped and filled with leaves. The reception desk was dusty, the lift are old with cracks there. The windows are dirty inside out.
The gym has basic facilities. I didn’t have breakfast, but they provide basic needs too. The price was the cheapest among all 5-star hotels, even cheaper than a 4-star hotel. If you only need a room to stay, it can fulfil your basic needs.
AAnonymous UserOld and spread out blood stains on duvet cover AND fitted sheet mattress cover (including a big one that had been covered with a pillow) were unacceptable. These could in no way have been missed by staff. Friendly staff offered snacks in the morning to go with the coffee. Location very good for transportation and going out. Rooms have very few amenities and extras (not even an extra roll of toilet paper), but the cafe/bar downstairs provides a nice area to sit.
SSezD0720I decided to treat myself and my son at the end of our trip and the Rotterdam Marriott certainly did not disappoint.
As a disabled person with limited mobility, I wasn’t sure how far away from Centraal train station it would be. I was pleasantly surprised that even on crutches, it was a distance that I could manage.
The reception staff were all very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough to make our trip even more pleasant.
The room was beautiful and spacious, plenty of charging outlets and even the tv was personalised by using your keycard upon entry to the room.
The bathroom not only had a spacious walk in shower, but also had a large bath.
Both the bathroom and bedroom were very clean and the housekeeping staff were excellent.
The room service was fantastic and absolutely delicious food.
We will be definitely looking forward to booking back in on our next visit to Rotterdam!
KKa KiThe location is great , close to city Center and museum, just 2 minutes walk from the closest tram station to get off.
Thought there is a restaurant in hotel from the photos but indeed just a dinning area together with the front desk area which only provides breakfast.
Large room, bed and toilet are clean , kitchen is good too if you wish to cook, more homie feelings to stay in here, but the sofa in my room was having some stains.
Also the room is quite (no noise from outside) , feeling secured too as solo traveller. Originally thought the washer is inside my room, but actually are all in the public washer & dryer room, tho 24 hours open, btw no washing powder provided you need to bring or buy yourself. Still good for long-trip traveller.
Overall is not a bad stay with this location and room size , maybe not the best but still worth the prize
