"Managing a booking for 8 rooms for a large group of 16 (including a child) can be a logistical challenge, but Hotel JAL City Toyama handled our stay flawlessly. We booked the Superior Twin Rooms for a one-night stopover on May 14th to rest up during our Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route itinerary. The rooms were spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. The hotel's location and efficiency made coordinating our large group's early morning movements so much easier. Highly recommended for anyone traveling through Toyama with a big party!"

"Location is a short distance away from the Toyama station. But everything else is perfefct. I loved that my room had a small onsen as well, so I could continue to soak in the comfort of my room after visiting the big onsen. Both were great and it really helps to relax the body after a long day. Staff were friendly and went out their ways to assist with my requests. Really 10/10."

"The location is super convenient, right across from the station square. I arrived a little after one and the front desk kindly checked me in, which was a nice touch. My room had a view of the snowy mountains, the City Hall Observation Deck, the Glass Museum, and the green roof of Toyama Castle. If you stay multiple nights and opt out of full cleaning (only trash emptied and towels changed), you get a free drink voucher redeemable at the vending machine on the first floor. Foreign guests can also get a free tram ticket at the front desk, valid for two rides. Breakfast was decent, and you can even take coffee to go."

"This was my first trip to Toyama, and I did a lot of research before booking a hotel. I ended up choosing the Oarks Canal Park Hotel because of its great value for money. The location is incredibly convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Toyama Station. You can also easily walk to Canal Park to visit the famous 'most beautiful Starbucks'. The hotel room was quite spacious and very clean. They clean every three days, but daily cleaning can be arranged if requested. If you opt out of daily cleaning, they still provide fresh bath towels, hand towels, and toothbrushes, along with UCC coffee capsules every day. The room had an excellent view; I loved opening the curtains each morning to a different scenery. The only downside was that they only provided a complimentary bottle of drinking water on the first day of my stay. I had to go to a supermarket near the station every day to buy water. Overall, I was satisfied."

"The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is right next to Toyama Station. The hot spring bath was very modern, and it was great to have both a cold plunge and a sauna. However, we stayed for several days, and every time we went to the hot spring, there were quite a few people; perhaps there are many guests and the pool isn't very large. It seems the hotel doesn't offer breakfast? Even though there's a convenience store right outside the lobby. The most inexplicable thing is why there isn't a dedicated hotel parking lot? We had to find parking nearby every time, which was quite inconvenient."

"It was a very nice hotel. The Western-style room was spacious and clean, and the bath, both the changing room and the washing area, were spacious and clean, making it a very pleasant experience. It was raining, so I got wet before entering the open-air bath, but it wasn't a cold season, so it wasn't a problem. I was looking forward to the free beer, soft drinks, and ice cream after the bath, as it was listed on the website, and I was also happy to find that the evening meal buffet also included free drinks, including alcohol, which made my stay even more enjoyable. It was really nice that there was little waiting time for the elevators, and free drinks were always available on the lobby floor, making everything pleasant to use."

"The hotel is conveniently located near Toyama Station. Downstairs, there's a Japanese restaurant and a sushi place, but unfortunately, neither accepts reservations, so you have to queue. There's also a convenience store on the first floor. The front desk is on the second floor, where you can pick up toothbrushes, toothpaste, makeup remover, skincare, tea bags, drip coffee, and bath salts – a really good selection. You need your room card to access the elevators. The room itself is a bit small but quite new, and the layout is pretty efficient. My only complaint is the narrow and long entryway; with a 24-inch suitcase open, only one person can pass through at a time. It would be perfect if that hallway were a bit wider. The bathroom gets a huge thumbs-up! It's spacious, with a separate bathtub and shower, and the shower floor dries very quickly. For room cleaning, you need to put a sign on your door. If you only need fresh towels and trash emptied, you can leave them outside your door in the morning, and they'll hang new ones on the doorknob. They provide two bottles of water daily. Toyama Castle and the 'most beautiful Starbucks' are both within walking distance."

The location is a bit out of the way, but it wasn't a problem since we were driving. Although it's an older-style inn, it was clean and tidy. There were also quite a few locals staying there. They offered snack sharing in the afternoon and evening. The most pleasant surprise was the incredibly rich breakfast. I would definitely choose this inn again next time.

Great location, just 1min walk away from Toyama Station on level 5 of the Maroot building . It’s a perfect base to move around the Tateyama region. I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind throughout my visit. The overall atmosphere gave off a wonderfully authentic Japanese vibe, which made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast — beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What impressed me most was how the hotel made me feel so comfortable and welcome, almost like I was staying at a relative’s home in Japan. It’s a place I would wholeheartedly recommend, and I would love to return again in the future.

Before trip, I think this hotel is located close to Toyama station but I walked from Toyama station to the hotel around 20 minutes (However, this was my own fault for not reading the hotel’s location information carefully). For this hotel, the facilities is very well and various such as public bath, electric body massage machine, vending machine. For the public bath, if you use it during the daytime, you’ll probably get a beautiful view of the Japan Alps surrounding the city. Unfortunately, I used it at night, when it was too dark to see the view.

Due to a booking error made by the agent, my check-in experience was terrible. I spent the entire night communicating with Ctrip (the booking platform), and while it was eventually resolved, I was still disappointed that I didn't get the room I wanted. The hotel is right next to Toyama Castle, and you might get lucky and see the Tateyama Mountain Range from the side. There's a convenience store and a tram station across the street, which is generally good. However, the room itself was very basic, and the service wasn't particularly warm. Overall, the experience was just average. A small surprise was the mochi pounding and sake offering on New Year's Day morning.

A magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.
