"We chose this hotel, about a 30-minute drive from home, for a one-night stay so the kids could go swimming. They were so excited before we even left. After checking in, we rushed to the pool, only to be told that children weren't allowed after 6 PM and could only use it after 9 AM the next morning. However, check-out was at 11 AM, which left very little time. So, I contacted Trip.com customer service to request a late check-out. During the first call, the hotel said they would charge £10 per hour for late check-out. We expressed our dissatisfaction, and thanks to Trip.com's proactive coordination, the hotel finally agreed to a free two-hour late check-out for both rooms. The kids had a fantastic time the next morning, which was a huge plus. The hotel is newly renovated, and the overall facilities are quite good for a UK hotel. Dinner was also decent, though the steak was a bit disappointing. Luckily, the waitstaff were very friendly and didn't charge us for it. IHG's service philosophy was generally well-reflected. However, the hotel seemed a bit understaffed. There were only two people at the front desk, so checking in required a bit of a wait. After check-in, no one showed us to our rooms, and the layout was a bit confusing, making it easy to get lost. I hope the hotel can improve in this area in the future. Also, it would be even more appealing if they could add some family-friendly room types."

"Firstly, the staff we encountered were lovely, very accommodating and helpful. The reception entrance was promising, being bright and modern with a very pleasant receptionist and smooth check in. However, our room lacked appeal, comfort or anything that made one wish to stay in it for longer than a night. To be fair, we were asked twice on check in, if we would like to move to a different floor. I jokingly asked if there was a problem with the room we'd been allocated but was told no. We were allocated Room 7. Whilst it appeared clean to the best the facilities allowed, it was unpleasant. The bottom of the bathroom door appeared water damaged and rotten. The sink was cracked. The radiator was rusted by urine splashes as situated beside the toilet and the shower was situated in a recess with no curtain or screen, so quickly spilled on to the floor making the bath mat soaked. The lock on the bathroom door didn't work. There was no hair dryer. Only one USB point within the very small TV which only charged if it was on. Being on the ground floor, our window opened out on to the narrow walk way and one poor man walked into it on his way to reception. SatNav instructions take you to a dead end further down the road and several attempts at finding our way around the God awful roundabout eventually led us to a very small parking area at the front of the hotel. Breakfast at 9.00 pm was initially disappointing. One plate was available, no bread for the toaster, no milk for the cereals. One sausage, no beans, no bacon. More food did eventually appear, as did plates, and it was very nice. The croissants and pastries were lovely too. The coffee machine was good. As mentioned, the staff were very good and we requested an iron which was bought to us quickly with a board by a lovely young man. The bed was awful. Rock hard and not much comfort from a meagre duvet that was so thin that initially we thought it had been forgotten. Anyway, one night, cheap and basic. Served its purpose but would look elsewhere and pay more. Think we were just unlucky."

"This hotel has seen better days unfortunately.. Maybe it was once a main hotel chain but the current owners are struggling to keep on top of issues. .The first room offered to me had a mouldy damp smell. The second option was better . But overall I couldn't recommend a stay here."

"First time staying at a B&B and it was a great experience! The train station is close by, as is the city center, and the surrounding area is really convenient. Especially handy for Moor Street Station, where you can catch the train to Shakespeare's birthplace – don't go to the wrong one! The large shopping mall has a fantastic design too! "Here's a polished, balanced, and favourable review: I had an enjoyable stay at the Britannia Hotel Coventry. The location is excellent, especially being right next to the bus station, making it very convenient for travelling around the city. The front desk staff were friendly and provided great service throughout my stay. My room key stopped working a few times, but each time the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently. I also needed to ask about using the older-style shower hose, and the staff were polite and happy to help. The room was clean and tidy, with fresh towels provided. It was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a kettle, a hairdryer, and an iron, which were all useful extras. The bathroom could do with a bit of a refresh, but it was clean and everything worked as expected. There wasn't any air conditioning, although there was a desk fan next to the bed, which helped keep the room comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The friendly service, convenient location, and good room facilities made for a pleasant visit, and I would happily stay here again."

"Absolutely smashing. Myself and sister visited ( it’s our most favourite hotel whenever I come visit her) for my birthday treat. Honestly all the great great team can never do enough for you x They make our stay.  Huge thanks this visit to Josh, Charlotte and Debs ( looking fab Debs. Haven’t seen you in ages) and all the team xxx  We always relax in the spa , then enjoy the  lounge and tasty dinner later. It’s just the best, and especially this special birthday visit. "We were really impressed with this hotel. On our first day, we arrived at 10 AM for check-in and the staff let us check in immediately because a room was available. We stayed here for 5 nights, and the staff cleaned our room and changed our towels every day. The room was clean, and the reception staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Our family plans to visit Coventry again next year, and we'll definitely choose to stay here again. The hotel is right next to Coventry train station, making it very convenient for travel."

"We were a wedding party and found we were accommodated quite well generally I.e the manager did open the bar for us on the Sunday evening where it us usually closed but there were a couple of issues within the party too. One couple had to change their room because of a very bad smell in theirs, another couple had an issue with the shower and toilet not working. All issues were promptly dealt with and resolved. In the restaurant they advertise children eat free yet 2 separate groups within our party were charged for them, these charges were removed when questioned but should not of been charged in the first place. The menu is quite extensive in the restaurant but unfortunately the quality of the food compared to the prices charged was not equal with some of the meals."

"It was within walking distance 5 minutes to the train station It was also within walking distance 7 minutes to the Conference Centre I had great conversations with a very friendly receptionist who checked me in was at the desk most times when I was going out and she checked me out... In the interim the other receptionist came upstairs to let me know nicely and politely that my Taxi was waiting. Another girl receptionist was also very friendly she let me have a complimentary cup of tea after the machine failed to give me a full cup when I paid I was very well looked after. Being where it is near the station and the conference center I will defnitely stay there again."

"I always look forward to staying at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and always remember me. IThis has become my no.1 hotel to stay whenever I'm visiting Birmingham. Breakfast has an amazing array of things from muffins to hot English breakfast to salad selection, cold meats selection, cereals and selection of breads. Topped off with hot drinks or juices. This hotel is amazing."
