Staying at the Star Hotel was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is located in a quiet alley. There are friendly ladies who can speak Chinese. It only takes a few minutes to walk from the hotel to Sanjusangendo. The entrance ticket only accepts cash. If you forget, you can exchange it at the Familymart self-service machine at the entrance of the alley (just a few steps away from Sanjusangendo). There is a McDonald's at the entrance of the alley, opposite It is a subway and bus station. It is very convenient to go to Hanamikoji, Gion, Shichijo Shopping Street, and Kyoto Station. There is Don Quixote in Yotobashi at Kyoto Station🤣

Because I chose this hotel close to the city center, I found that the location was very convenient after I actually checked in. It was only a 5-minute walk from Karasuma Shijo in the center of Kyoto.
And next to the hotel is the Rosen convenience store very convenient, there is a Michelin ramen shop next door to the convenience store, although we stayed during the renovation, the store did not open the door and was not late 😿 I have a chance to come again next time.
The room was very clean and comfortable. It is also very convenient to use the password to operate the door lock without having to worry about losing the room card. Other hotels I stayed in before lost the room card and lost 5,000 yen 😵💫, because there is no room card to check out is also very convenient to go directly before the check-out time. Very convenient.
Because the surrounding public transportation is very convenient, this check-out day left the luggage to the front desk and continued to visit Kyoto for a while before leaving.
The only fly in the ointment is that the opposite temple will ring the bell every morning, but it should not affect 😬 if I don’t like to sleep until 10 o’clock every day.
Grear hotel with excellent service. The room was ready when arrived and the staff accommodating us earlier.
The room was Japanese modern style - more then perfect!!! Highly recommend
Pretty clean. The location is decent, but some distance from the subway station - it’s a 22 min walk or some minutes on the local city bus. The service was good, with friendly staff. Amenities were not too great. The shower was amazing, but they did not have any lockers, so you had to keep the bag in the reception or in the capsule with you. They had washing machines and dryer.
This was such a nice hotel! Everything was perfectly clean, and I felt very comfortable during my stay. I think this is the nicest place I have stayed in recently. I was glad that everything was clean and well-organized. They tell you everything you need to know in a little folder in your room. They also answered my questions very quickly and kindly.
The best parts for me were that the heating and water heater worked, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and they explained everything I was curious about in detail in the folder, on signs, or in email communications. One thing I didn't know until I got here is that there is a shared microwave, which is nice when you get food from the convenience store.
It was compact and had the bare minimum.
There was a drink bar on the first floor, but I wasn't informed of it...
There were no pajamas in the room, so you had to ask for one on the first floor. They were free to borrow, so don't worry ^ ^
There was no water either, so you had to get some at a nearby convenience store. There was also a supermarket on the main street.

Let me talk about the size of the room first. Compared with the average Japanese business traveler, this room can be described as super comfortable. There is no sense of oppression. The room facilities are all well equipped, and there should be some, because we go in winter, and there is also a big terrace. Warm stickers are provided, but we just happened to have prepared ourselves so we didn’t take the position. It was in the middle of the Shijo and Wujo stations. If you are pulling luggage, you should pay attention to which exit has an elevator, or you will have to go up the stairs yourself.

It was a little difficult that there was no bathroom in the room, but there was a sink, so it was somewhat comfortable, and the bed was wide, so it was really nice! The room and shower facilities were clean, so I was satisfied with the accommodation. The quick turnaround area, baggage storage, and shower facilities are all on the basement floor. There is a cafe-like space on the first floor that serves water, coffee, and snacks, so it was nice to rest comfortably!

GGuest UserAlthough it’s a bit far to the Kyoto train station, if you know how to take the bus, there are 3 bus stops + 1 Shijouoomiya train station which are really closed to this hotel (only 6 to 10 mins walk), which can lead you to anywhere of the tourist spots !! 👍🏻 hotel located in a quiet street which gives you a well sleep at night. 😴The hostel of this hotel are helpful, they helped us to return our kimono via the local post since we are rush in time to travel around. 📤 They replied the email daily and fast, at the first day we couldn’t find their reception to check in (Just found out it’s a self check system that they had already sent you a password to your email earlier). 📧 They helped us to take care of our luggage after we check out our room, as we were going to nearby spots after the living. All the facilities and equipment are clean, you can tell they had mopped the floor, clean anywhere of the kitchen, restroom and sleeping room all the way around and leaving with no dust. 🪣👍🏻 my conclusion is, I will definitely come back to book their hotels, their signature brand “Risshisha”, next time when I come back to travel again. Once again, thank you for your 5 stars services !! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

GGuest UserIt's similar to a Japanese economy hotel. It's quite small. It's very close to JR Nijo Station, and you can see it when you get out of the station. It is also very close to the subway station. There is a bakery, restaurant, and convenience store at the door, which is super convenient. This station is also beautiful, with cherry trees at the entrance of the station. Close to Nijo Castle, about 10 minutes on foot to Nijo Castle.
GGuest UserThe place has an excelente location, easy to get there. The room was cleaned and organized. However, there is no person at the front desk to ask questions or ask for help. The code for entering to the room was sent by SMS, but since we were traveling the service for SMS of our phone company does not work outside our country, so we did not receive the message since we were traveling. They do not have an e-mail address, so the check in instructions could not be send there. When we arrived to the place was late and we found the front desk empty even though we still arrived in the front desk service hours. We had a hard time contacting the hotel but luckily could get some help in calling the administration to get our room number and the code.
