Zhangjiajie Hotels with Bars

We recently enjoyed a fantastic one-week stay at the Harmona Spa and Resort in Zhangjiajie, and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the personalized service made us feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to assist us with logistics, arranging everything from tickets to transportation, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The 24/7 attention was impeccable, and the beautiful location and facilities added to the charm of the resort, we got a feeling of Avatar 2.0 One highlight was the great variety offered at breakfast, which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. Both of the resort’s restaurants served excellent food, adding to our overall dining pleasure. A special mention goes to the staff members who made our stay exceptional: Johnny and Shan received us warmly on the night we arrived, Cherry and Monica, who not only provided excellent service but also entertained us with their beautiful singing and fun personalities; Pink, who was incredibly helpful, proactive in planning our activities, and quick to resolve any issues T hank you to Mao Mengfan, who hosted us with an amazing barbecue at Flower Valley, Luna from the Chinese restaurant, who provided amazing service; Nikki and Fenfen from the front desk, who were always welcoming and efficient; and Josie from the bar, who made our karaoke night unforgettable with creative cocktails. Lastly, big thank you to Mr. Li who took great care of our luggage, ensuring it reached the airport when we couldn't return from Tianmen Mountain in time. I love the hotel location which is at a quiet neighbourhood, 10 mins walk to the main food street and 15 mins leisure walk to the east gate of forest park. The receptionist was helpful to book the attraction tickets at discounted price and provided all the necessary information. I had an upgraded room which was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable with balcony overlooking the stream. Breakfast was above average, enough to keep us filling. Highly recommended.

Would recommend this place. This place is great value for money. Good location if you want somewhere calm and tranquil; having travelled around China to the big cities, I needed this more secluded stay. I could not fault the service. I arrived early and they offered me breakfast which was so lovely of them. The food is more home style cooking, simple but decent. The staff were incredibly helpful. I had a fever on my first night and they took good care of me. Kevin especially was very hospitable. Thank you!

We had an amazing stay at Forest homestay at sunrise. The homestay is a short 5 minute drive from the west gate of the National Park which is much quieter and with smaller queues. The service we received was excellent, in particular from Mr Wu (小吴) who was extremely helpful in planning an itinerary tailored to our schedule and organised all of our tickets for us. He helped us to plan a route which avoided the crowds for most of the day. The hotel had stunning views of the mountains, complete with an infinity pool and a restaurant with delicious local food. We highly recommend staying here!

Heaven! This hotel is perfection! Nestled in the mountains you can be at one with nature here and relax in the most comfortable surroundings. The hotel is an old village that has transformed into an amazing rustic high end hotel. It is situated very near to the Zhangjiajie scenic park entrances such as Avatar Mountains. The rooms/villas are spacious, clean and have everything you could want. There was a turn down service with snacks provided and they set up the projector ready for when you arrive back from a wonderful day of sightseeing. The warm bath on the balcony really helped to relax us too. The views at this hotel are breathtaking! The most beautiful vistas that you can see from the rooms, balconies and the infinity pool (1 of 2 pools they have there). The restaurant was impressive, all the food is freshly cooked and many of the items are grown at the hotel (see the rice paddies and vegetables growing in the photos). There was a lot of choice of food and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant also has some wine and spirits to enjoy with your meal or to sip on a gin and tonic at the infinity pool just outside to watch the sun set. Breakfast was amazing, again plenty of choice and real coffee too. There is also a bar on site if you wish to sing karaoke with beers and friends once the sun has set. The most outstanding aspect of this hotel for us was the service. Rain, the (reception) manager was incredible, nothing was too much trouble for him. He called us the day before to arrange pick up and he speaks perfect English. Throughout the stay he organised and helped with everything we needed, he really did go above and beyond, thank you so much Rain to you and all of your staff who work so hard. This hotel was definitely great value for the price, the location and aspect of the hotel, also perfect. We cannot wait to come back again, maybe winter next time to see the snowy mountains and to sit by the fires in the rooms. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, 110%! This stay was a great experience. The homestay has its own courtyard, which is very comfortable and beautiful! ! ! The room is very clean, the layout of the room is very nice, the room is very soundproof and quiet. Fruits were prepared as soon as we arrived at the homestay, and the housekeeper's service was great! ! , the housekeeper was very enthusiastic, and arranged a pick-up for us, saving a lot of time, and recommended us a tour route. If you have any questions, tell the housekeeper, and he will help us solve them quickly. And this homestay is very good for taking photos. Very satisfied, must praise!

The hotel is close to the east gate of Wulingyuan and historic interest area. It’s very convenient to start your trip from here. It’s a 10min walk from the bus station that takes you to the Grand Canyon and zhangjiajie. The streets with the shops are 1-2km walking. They have many choices for breakfast. Different vegetables, noodles, bread, eggs, fruit etc. Even cornflakes and toast if you only like western food. They change it a bit everyday which is nice. The room was good and they cleaned it every day. Only underneath the bed it was dusty. The room had automatically opening curtains and airco. I would recommend this hotel. The staff does not speak English so if you don’t speak a little Chinese it might be a little inconvenient.

During our visit to China, we stayed at the ‘Mr Sean Castle’ hotel from 29 July to 1 August 2024. The hotel is named after ‘Sean the Sheep’ (the character being a favourite of the owner apparently) and, being British, we thought this quirky theme was brilliant… you can see various models of Sean dotted around the hotel. The hotel was absolutely fabulous and the staff were all so friendly. As part of our reason for visiting China was to celebrate a 50th birthday, the Mr Sean Castle hotel kindly gave us an upgraded room, which was amazing. The hotel is in a great location close to downtown Zhangjiajie, but just far enough away to ensure you have a quiet and very peaceful night’s sleep away from any outside noise. The food at the hotel is first-class, including a great variety of delicious choices for breakfast. The hotel has an amazing open-air roof-top garden that is packed with beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees… it’s truly breathtaking to see, and was an amazing place to sit and eat as we watched a phenomenal lighting storm play out over the Zhangjiajie mountain range that forms the incredible backdrop to the hotel’s view over the river to the rear. As stated above, the hotel staff were fantastic, but particular thanks go to ‘Scarlett’ (张思嘉) for her assistance in helping us to arrange the tickets we needed to visit Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon… she sorted everything out for us and without her knowledge and help, our trip would definitely not have been as amazing as it was… thank you again Scarlett! We would fully recommend the Mr Sean Castle hotel to anyone planning to visit Zhangjiajie, and will definitely stay there again if we ever come back to the amazing city of Zhangjiajie… which is highly likely!

I had an amazing stay at this resort! Lu lu was super helpful and made the experience seamless. The restaurant was great, especially for breakfast. The hot spring bath was a highlight - the staff made sure that the water temperature was exactly to our liking and provided hot tea and towels for our use. The grounds are well-maintained and beautiful. The only negative I could say is that they did not offer massage services when I stayed, even though it was advertised online. Maybe because it was the low season or because they forgot to update the listing?

The hotel is gorgeous! Very nice view and location. The staff is fantastic, Chinese people is very nice and friendly but they are the best. They helped us with everything we needed, arranging our trip to the National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain! We really suggest to book this hotel to have a true and pleasant experience in Zhangjiajie, Wulingyuan, and to also eat at their restaurant, it is delicious! And a special thanks to 成龙, he’s the best and kindest guy.
