"I had an excellent stay at this hotel, the staff are very friendly and speak English. I arrived late and they directly helped me book a ticket for the park the next day and explained how to get there. The breakfast included is very good + you take it on the roof with a magnificent view. The hotel is close to the east entrance of the park (about 15-20 minutes walk)."

"Hotel is old and due a renovation, yes price and location is good but I was very disappointed with the room, windows facing stairs where people frequently walk, your only options are to have 0 sunlight or have strangers stare in your room. Since there’s no separate bathroom (all in 1 room) there’s not even a secure place to change.
Looks a lot better in pictures than reality. But, for 300 yuan honestly it’s okay.

"We enjoyed our stay at Hetianwan Inn a lot. The staff was super nice and helpful. We got free water everyday when we left or came back to the hotel. The staff was able to answer all our questions regarding how to get to the Nationalpark, the hikes etc.
We asked for restaurant recommendations and were even guided to the restaurant by them."

"The No. 5 Valley Hotel should be a destination in its own right for everyone visiting Zhangjiajie! Not only are the views spectacular, the hotel itself is so beautiful. The rooms are both rustic and modern and the staff are kind, welcoming, and helpful. They offer a pick-up service from both the airport and train station, and dropped us off and picked us up at our convenience to and from the park, although it was difficult to leave the hotel and we had spend at least one day lazing about and enjoying the pools, my favourite being the heated infinity pool overlooking the valley - a great soak after a day of walking in the park! Most of the staff spoke English, and Rain advised us on the best routes to take to get the most of our visit. Mei, who grew up right next door, offered us a variety of her hand-picked tea, introducing us to the local medicinal 'berry tea' (莓茶). It was a magical stay and we will be back as soon as we can! (Oh and the bed was possibly the most heavenly we have slept on!)"

"One of the best hotel stays during my trip in China. Highly recommend. Walking distance to National Forest Park. Clean and large rooms. Breakfast had a good food selection, coffee, and latte machine. We stayed in a family room with a mountain and river view. Staff went above and beyond during our stay. Provided medicine and ice packs for mosquito bites, helped finish our laundry late at night, provided fruit knife when we needed it. Concierge service is one of the best. They arranged and scheduled all our trips, tour guides, tickets, etc. Helped make last minute tour changes as needed. Whenever we had questions or needed help during our excursions they would respond immediately. 5 stars for front desk staff, polite, patient and helpful. One staff member spoke English."

"Lovely place! We would stay here again. The owner and his wife are the perfect hosts, thank you! First, our room was upgraded with no charge, then the owner offered to give us advice for the best routes to visit as much as we can. The weather was rainy and changeable, but they recommended us the best ways to avoid the weather conditions. Breakfast was tasty as at home 👌🏻 Also they helped us to communicate with Didi customer service in Chinese. So hospitable hosts, thank you so much! Will miss this place. Recommend it💔"

KKay_yyFirst of all, the location of the hotel is very strategic as it very near to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park of about 15 mins walking distance, and there are many food around the hotel too.
In addition, the amenities also very complete as there is lift at the lobby, TV in the room (we played music on TV every night), hair dryer etc. The pillow and mattress are very comfy, we had good sleep every night when we stayed there. The toilet is very clean and hygienic as well.
The hotel owners are super friendly and helpful! They shared their experience with us which is very useful and they did help us to get Mei Li Xiang Xi ticket at a discounted price. They mentioned that they could help to get Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Zhangjiajie Great Canyon tickets at discounted prices too but unfortunately we bought earlier before we reach there, so if you need the tickets, can just approach the hotel owners. They also share with us the best route for Zhangjaijie National Forest Park and it is very helpful for us!
Overall, we did have an enjoyable and pleasant stay at this hotel for the past three nights! Thanks to the kind hotel owners, if we have the chance to visit Zhangjiajie again, this hotel would be our first choice 😊

GGuest UserIf you are looking for a mountain vibe, peaceful, away from city and homey experience, this is the hotel for you! The mountain view is unbeatable and it’s so majestic. We have nothing but compliments about our room which can even house 3pax, having a bathtub and sauna to sooth our muscle after a day out were refreshing for us. Another highlight is how delicious the restaurant food is and we couldn’t resist eating the same dish (香芋扣肉) for 3 meals in a row. I am so glad to have booked one more night with this homestay just so that we can chill around the hotel with a tea ceremony with 毛管家 before heading out for our train ride home. Don’t be deterred by its mountainous location, it is only 5min away from the ZJJ forest park attraction entrance and the whole experience be it hardware or software with the homestay are so worth it! Ended my ZJJ tour on such a high note! Me and my parents (both in 70s) love it so much!

weather was not very forgiving during my stay, so they were very kind to offer me an upgrade to their beautiful rainbow room multiple times for me to rest better. I just love this place and the people, will definitely be back again to try out their rainbow room finally!

The best part is that the owner can manage the tickets of the attractions at a lower cost than the original price and it is valid. CClinomaniac LyeLove our stay! This homestay provided far beyond the basic listed services and truly made our trip to Zhangjiajie memorable.
- before our arrival, we already felt the warmth and genuine hospitality.They patiently dialogued with us to plan how best to maximise our time during our 5D4N stay with them, and even considered the days after as we are moving to another homestay. They thoughtfully introduced and mapped out local attractions, helping us make the most of our trip.
- We appreciated their transparency when sharing their offerings and discounted rates, giving us space to compare without pressure. This gave us peace of mind even before checking in.
- One of the biggest highlights was how the homestay helped bridge the transportation gap. Despite the secluded location, they arranged reliable partner drivers who charged us at very competitive Didi rates, making travel easy and affordable without needing to worry about timing.
- We also loved the friendly dogs and cat around the homestay. They brought so much joy and warmth, and playing with them became part of our daily routine.
A special shoutout to Butler Jiang (将）, who truly went above and beyond.
- Upon arrival, he noticed we had caught a cold and politely ask if he could prepare herbal tea for us. This became our daily comfort drink throughout the stay. We even felt shy asking for it so often, but he and the team kindly reminded us it was part of their care.
- One unforgettable moment was during a heavy downpour. With the road under government maintenance, access to the homestay became extra challenging for that day. Butler Jiang appeared with multiple umbrellas and a buggy (not something we had seen before!). Since cars couldn’t reach the homestay directly, he walked down to escort guests personally—soaked in rain but making sure each of us stayed dry. When we got on the buggy, we realized he had even opened umbrellas to keep the seats dry. We were deeply touched by his dedication. Upon returning, we were greeted by a joyful gathering of guests enjoying a mini party at the pavilion—a sight that perfectly captured the warmth and spirit of this homestay.
Another shoutout to their partnering driver sun (孙）:
- After we moved to our second homestay, we once got stranded by the roadside because of Didi GPS error that made it difficult for a ride-hailing driver to locate the place. The only option offered by our then homestay was to dropped us at the base of a mountain, where we waited over 15 minutes with no success. Luckily, driver sun from Celestial Valley Homestay recognized us and offered us a ride, so we followed him back to Celestial Valley, and were warmly welcomed again with complimentary tea and another chance to enjoy the view and play with the pets.
- driver sun also took on our business and brought us to the city and even took us on another round trip to a faraway attraction. We were no longer guests at that point, yet the hospitality continued. We were truly thankful for the extended service and kindness.
This homestay gave us more than just a place to stay—it offered warmth, care, and unforgettable memories. It's this genuine hospitality that makes Celestial Valley such a rare gem.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for heartfelt service, breathtaking views and a true home away from home.

However, the biggest upside was the hospitality and insightful tips from the front desk! They organized pick ups and drop offs, bought discounted tickets for the Zhangjiajie National Park and Glass Bridge. They organized everything for us and how to tackle the park in the best way possible. Also, they were always available if we had any requests. Staff was super friendly, always trying to help! We will definitely be back! 🫶🏻♥️🐲⛩️

It is next to all the restaurants and a very tasty one across the road which you receive 10% off for staying at Miss Inn. The manager is so nice & super helpful - He made a lot of time for me to translate information & help me book tickets to the national park.

Just little bit learn facility maintain from international brand hotels and be perfect. Shuttle bus very convenient. Food ok for foreigners. Quite and very chilling place. QQuang MinhHost is a super nice guy and very helpful. He helps you book your tickets as well as with communication and he has many good tips for you. Usually people hang downstairs, there are also three cute cats. Usually people order food and have dinner together. You will easily meet fellow travelers here. The place is otherwise very basic and could need repairs and more frequent cleanups. But that is not the focus here. The hostel is also close to the starting point to Tianmen mountain.
PS: The package for the avatar mountains has hiked to 450 RMB including cablecars and elevator (you can use the ticket on 4 consecutive days). 12 RMB to take the bus to its south gate. You need two days to finish the avatar mountains. Then one more day for Tianmen mountain. Another day for the canyon, if you want.
