Tau Game Lodge

"We recently visited as an extended family of 13, booking 6 rooms at the owner's lodge, Malta, which is the sister lodge to Tau and must be booked as a full lodge versus by individual rooms (or chalets.) The staff wow'ed me. They were the most kind and helpful people. We had our own private safari drivers, personal chef, bartender, along with housekeeping and support staff. The accomodations were beyond 5 star, total luxury! And the reason you likely are considering booking here... the safari drives... Silas and Rose took us on the most breath-taking rides and we'll be forever grateful for how wonderful they made this experience for our family. I have a nearly 4 year old and they customized rides for him, Tori also asked what he'd like to eat each day, and they all had playful banter with him throughout our stay, too. Oli made sure my wine glass was always full and they all truly made sure my heart was always happy! We visited Tau's main lodge for dinner 1 evening and for the bliss spa package 1 afternoon. The main lodge is also amazing and our spa treatment was extremely relaxing. Absolute must visit! I am already dreaming of a return!"

Rhulani Safari Lodge

"Apart from the spectacular sightings of cheetahs, lions, lion cubs, black & white rhino, elephants, Crimson breasted shrike and the list goes on. We had a fantastic time at Rhulani. We were welcomed by the Signature welcome wave every single time we went out and came back. Our guide, James, the best we ever experienced on a game drive, added a personal touch by remembering stories everyone told. He had an inclusive approach by making sure every single one on the game vehicle gets to see what they asked to see. Being conscious of birdwatchers and non-birdwatchers and making the experience pleasant for all. James has a passion for what he does and our drives were knowledgeable and fun. The staff at Rhulani, all Friendly and professional. Nosa, your warmth and sincere personality made us feel extra welcome. I can mention so many more names, but everyone was very kind. The boma dinner was a highlight ending with Willem& Tom’s marshmallows on s’mores. The food was good too. As South Africans, We go on lots of safaris but the friendly staff & everyone greeting each other on the Madikwe roads are something that stood out for me. It makes the experience so pleasant & relaxing. You meet other friends on these tours just by being indulged in the relaxing experience of this lodge. We will definitely visit them again and highly recommend this for your next stay."

"We have just returned from a fabulous stay at The Last Word Madikwe - a treat to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Jodi and team …many special touches to make our stay memorable. The position of the lodge in front of the waterhole is spectacular, there is a constant stream of wildlife coming and going. Cold in winter, so come well prepared…the hot water bottles on the morning game drive were really great, but 2 or 4 layers of clothing still needed. Wildlife sightings were incredible and a special shout out to Sam, who was the most superb, knowledgeable, guide. Lodge staff were very pleasant and attentive, the food great, accommodation excellent and position of lodge spectacular. Well worth a visit. Thank-you to the team."

Impodimo, how magical it was watching the sky come alive during a sunrise or sunset...those shifting shades of gold, pink, orange and fire, reminding us to slow down and take it all in, and appreciate the moment. Impodimo, how we loved watching the wild animals roam freely in their natural habitat and sometimes getting so close that we could see the giraffes long eye lashes and the wrinkles on the elephants skin and the moment the lions powerful roar gave us goosebumps. Seeing life in the wild, reminded us of patience, courage and the beauty of simply being present. Impodimo, every moment opened our eyes in new ways. Watching our guide and tracker Sebastian and Mpho, celebrate every sighting with us, as if it was their first time. They weren't just guides, they became part of our story. "Excellent bush guide Joseph. Room was lovely and had a great view. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good in the main. One night I just didn't like the menu but my wife was happy with it. So just me on the night. Really excellent way to see the animals in the bush."
