"Lovely staff but every room I tried had a cockroach. They did their best to deal with the problem and were very apologetic but it is clearly an issue in the hotel. Avoid if you don't like these vsitors. Also no hot water in shower. Otherwise hotel is fine."

"Good option in a very nice location. I stayed in one of the apartments which was spacious and well-equipped. Marthe who runs the place was exceptionally helpful and was able to sort out all of the issues that I had. I was in Cameroon for a business trip and booked everything through Full Circle Travel who I have used for many years and they are excellent"

NEW HEAVEN HOTEL Hotels in Yaounde

NEW HEAVEN HOTEL

"Thank you to the entire New Heaven Hotel team for a wonderful stay. It started with a lovely WhatsApp conversation. The reliable driver coping with road works expertly. The check in was easy and the whole team seemed to know that I was arriving. We had a little welcome card in our room for the international conference we were attending. The room was large, the AC powerful and the shower hot at all hours. It had views over the city . The restaurant offered wonderful local cuisine and the staff was friendly, bilingual and offered superb advice. This will be my go-to hotel in Yaoundé."

Djeuga Palace Hotel Hotels in Yaounde

Djeuga Palace Hotel

"The hotel is well located and the food was good. However, the accomodation does not meet the standards of a 4-star hotel. The personnel at the reception desk can't give change if you pay in cash, but worst of all, they tried to charge me for the services twice and gave me some bills for food I never ordered. The room was not in the best condition: when I checked in, there were large spills of water on the bathroom floor and the towels were dirty. Djeuga should definitely invest in providing single-use slippers for its guests. Wi-Fi in my room was very slow, almost unusable at times. When a couple of days after my stay I emailed the hotel to reguest a detailed bill to get reimbursed at my job (the one they gave me did not specify what I paid for), my emails were ignored. All in all, I would not recommend staying at Djeuga Palace Hotel during your trip to Yaounde."

"The staff is friendly, that's really the only positive point of this hotel. The exterior infrastructures have not been maintained for ages, which is a shame because the panorama is superb. Let's move on to the negatives: The wifi didn't work. It was impossible to get hot water, so I had to shower with cold water…. Finally I got up in the middle of the night and found that many guests were installed in the bathroom! A myriad of cockroaches were walking around the sink! In short: last time in this hotel which is a disaster!"

Hotel la Falaise Yaounde ★★★★
"Booking indicate breakfast for 2 included but during check out, they said that the breakfast is only for one and have to pay extra. The city tax indicated in the booking is not accurate and was charge higher instead. Breakfast was not delicious and very blend. Shower water pressure was very weak. The only good thing is that the bed is comfortable and aircon is fresh and strong. Cleanliness is not there."

"It is a very good hotel in the local area. The security situation is also very good. The daily leisure welcome drink in the lobby on the first floor is great, and the homemade cookies are very delicious. I will continue to stay here next time"

Merina Hotel ★★★★
"It's way too expensive to not have reliable wi-fi and water leaks in the bathroom. The breakfast that's billed on top of the room is overpriced given what's offered. The gym was also disappointing. The staff is polite and friendly, the best thing about the hotel. I won't come back because I feel like this is really not worth the money."

Hotel Franco Yaounde ★★★★
"Absolutely horrific experience while staying here for an international conference. Upon arrival, I waited over 2 hours for allocation of a room. I was told that the rooms were fully booked and that they would place me in another hotel. Eventually they gave me a room and the quality of the room was shocking. The lighting in the bathroom was extremely poor. But even with the poor lighting, the terrible hygiene and lack of maintenance could be seen. The bathtub was not clean. The room was extremely dilapidated. The very next morning, I requested a new room from reception who advised that a new room was being prepared for me and would be available by midday. At midday, I went to reception and they said the room is ready and allocated but being cleaned and I must return when the conference is over. After the conference, a new staff member was at reception and had no idea about the transfers. He indicated that no new room was available. Eventually, he then assigned me another room. The new room was an improvement however the hygiene of the bathroom was an issue. The shower design makes no sense and the water goes everywhere. There is a permanent smell of urine. There are also cockroaches. When opening the bedding to go to bed, it was seen that the bedding had not been changed and this bedding had hair from other guests. I went to reception again and requested that something be done. They offered that they could change the bedding or they could move me back to the old room. The person at the front desk then requested a member of security to come and change my bedding. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the lovely gentleman Claude from security came to change my bedding and was so polite and did his best to assist me despite bedding/house keeping not being his job. He is the only staff member I can applaud at this hotel. The hotel is in a shocking state and should be a 1 star, if that. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I am still trying to find alternative accomodation."

"Competent and reasonable for a hotel in Yaoundé, near the British Consulate and town centre. The interior is gloomy but the rooms are a decent size and acceptable condition; no mosquito nets but we haven't been troubled by mosquitoes in the higher up rooms where we've stayed. Breakfast isn't great, other meals available in the restaurant. Parking off the street on the front: ask for Rue Ceper."
