"We stayed in this hotel twice, one night before the trip across Namibia and three nights after the trip. The main reason for this selection was location and quality. It is located not in the central part of Windhoek, but next to Avis City Office (just outside hotel area), so very convenient for people who rent the car there. We have got family room – two double rooms with internal connecting doors. Clean rooms, spacious, with kettle and coffee/tea set in each room. Bathrooms with showers and what was important for us – it was the only one hotel during our trip across the south part of Africa where the shower was not only fixed above the head but also had a pipe shower. The breakfast was very good, with a number of hot dishes and eggs / omelette station. Also for the evening dinner the restaurant is a good place with open space so everybody may look how the cooks are preparing the meal."

"Our stay at Hotel Heinitzburg was an absolute delight from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne and a miniature chocolate volcano treat—such a lovely surprise and a wonderful introduction to the thoughtful hospitality that made our visit so special. The rooms have a nostalgic charm that takes you back to a more elegant era, while still feeling comfortable and inviting. The entire setting is beautifully presented, immaculate, and full of character. There is a sense of care in every detail, creating an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and wonderfully welcoming. We loved every moment. Dinner was a particular highlight. We had the honour of being served by Mr Tibor Raith himself, which made the evening feel incredibly personal. The menu was one to remember: exciting, exotic flavours, delicious combinations, and dishes that gave us plenty to talk about long after the meal. It was an experience to savour, and a wonderful part of our stay. What made Heinitzburg truly stand out was how special we were made to feel. We were spoiled rotten and treated like royalty, yet the hospitality remained warm and personal throughout. A heartfelt thank you to Mr Raith and the entire team for all the spoils and for such a memorable experience. We loved our time at Heinitzburg and would be delighted to return! Antje & Juliane"

"The sheets and pillowcases in the room seemed to have never been changed. It is recommended to bring disposable pillowcases and dirty sheets, or sleep in your clothes. Why did I choose this hotel? It's not because it's cheap, because I'm traveling alone, I can make friends, and I can travel together. As a result, no one came to share the room with me for 2 days. There is a supermarket nearby, but the price is expensive. You can take a taxi to the big supermarket in the city center to buy things. There are cheap and fresh things. Taxis are cheap, prepare change, they don't accept US dollars. The exchange rate at the airport is a little worse than the money exchange places in the city. If you want to change 50 to 100 US dollars, change it at the airport. It's more than 2 kilometers from the hotel. There are many places with slopes in the city. It is recommended to call a taxi and negotiate the price before getting on the car."

"Very high quality accommodation in a quiet suburb. If you are so inclined you could walk into the city centre in about 45 min but it can be too hot. The facilities provided are excellent and the hosts extremely helpful and courteous. One of the best B&B I have had the pleasure in staying."

"The whole hotel has the theme of winery…each building was named under a wine. The outlook didn’t seem to be too appealing for me. Reception closed at 7pm when we arrived…..too bad for the two of us (both adults) sharing the room , we were given only one key (even we requested, porter said receptionist left already….very inconvenient because u need the key card to open the electric back gate to go to the restaurant and return ! The receptionist wasn’t friendly, in fact very very rude to customers…..the worst in our whole trip in Namibia (consider this hotel being either the first stop or the last stop of the trip in this country….she ruined either a good first impression of the country, or the fond memories we had collected during our trip here!!!) WiFi was strong. Room was spacious enough with a small patio outdoors (ground floor rooms). There were 6 USB chargers which were really handy. However, the toilet seat cover kept falling on our back when we sat on it, and that was very annoying and not hygienic (room Merlot M2)! Breakfast and dinner were in the restaurant Stellenbosch across the road (using room card to unlock back gate). Breakfast (our day was a la carte) was ok….a bit slow….guess it would be nicer if we had come on a day with buffet BF. Dinner was very so so….the fried calamari was the only tasty dish… the main we ordered was Hake…which came out to be just fish and chips …and the mango dessert was missing mango….so most of us were quite disappointed."

"We were booked into this hotel by Wilderness, a luxury safari company for our last night before leaving Namibia. We were led in our room (room no 2). We were just ready to “jump” in our plunge pool when it knocked at our door. A really unfriendly staff member explained to us that we have to redress, pack our luggage and change to another room (room no 6), not as nice as room no 2, because she was mixing up names. We felt like second class people, no apologies, just the explanation that they made a mistake."

"I would not recommend this place due to the bad customer service. I had an employee drop the phone on me just for asking her name to know whom I was talking to. When trying to book my dinner I asked if I could be read what was in the menu and she explicitly asked if I wanted to read the menu out to her. To make matters worse on arrival , there were 2 bottles of used water showing that the room was not properly cleaned when the last person left. If you want a piece of mind.. stay clear of this place."

"This lodge is ideal for the beginning or end of a tour of Namibia. The welcome here at the Auas Safari Lodge was very warm, every employee was friendly and attentive to the guests. Since I was somewhat limited in my ability to walk, they were immediately willing to give me a room close to the pool and restaurant, thank you very much for that. The room is large and spacious, even equipped with a fireplace for colder days. Only the bathroom is a bit narrow and a bit awkward. Showering is only possible in a very high and narrow bathtub. When you sit on the toilet you hit the bathtub. A bit inconvenient. But the friendly staff makes up for it with their friendliness and makes the stay very pleasant. We would love to spend a few days here again at any time"

The room is generally clean and sanitary conditions need to be improved. The bed comfort was average and sleep quality was okay. Overall, the price/performance ratio is okay, but there is room for improvement."
