""I had an extremely disappointing stay at Hotel Stats Herberg Ald Weishoes. To start with, there was no toilet in the room, and the shower was literally in the room itself, which barely deserved to be called a 'room'. The bed was suspended between two walls and had less privacy than a net curtain between the door and the room. Although they had a large restaurant, the kitchen was never open. When I woke up, not only did they not offer breakfast, but they also denied access to hot water for making coffee or tea. On the second evening, I noticed that the restaurant was open, so I asked if I could order food, only to be told that they don't serve food to guests and that the kitchen was closed – this was at 7pm. Eventually, I decided to get food from a take-away, assuming I could at least sit in the empty restaurant, but I was informed that customers were not allowed to stay in the restaurant due to the owner's policy. Consequently, I had to eat my meal on the bed. The staff was extremely impolite and seemed to have no experience in dealing with travelers. In conclusion, I would highly advise against staying at this hotel if you plan to visit Venlo. It's better to choose a hotel with no services but with access to everything you need.""

"Don't be taken in by the write up. Firstly this is not a bed and breakfast. This is a couple of rooms above a cafe with no room service that will for an extra £15 each give you a breakfast in the cafe. ( It is a wonderful breakfast but does not make up for it) rooms at the top of done very steep very dangerous stairs.. room very basic very poor and so called private bathroom had no external lock so other guests used it for the toilet.. yes in centre but that just meant noisy drinks and people smoking ***** below our window.. overall not worth the money..."

"Beautiful castle hotel in a beautiful setting. Quiet and green. Nice terrace. Large rooms, soft, comfortable bed. Very friendly staff. Good food. Attention to guests' wishes; for me, as a disabled person, a shower chair was placed in the shower. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a more personal hotel with attention to the guests."

"Doesn't deserve 4 stars. Two or three at most. The rooms are small and dark (at least mine was in the attic). Small window overlooking a courtyard. Narrow, dark, and gloomy hallways. It's fine for one night. Not for a longer stay. Positives: friendly staff and the food in the restaurant was good."
