"We stayed here for a few days; it is a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast has everything you should have, only the bread isn't fresh, though you can order extras – there is a breakfast menu. We didn't eat here. There was a wedding over the weekend, but we weren't bothered by it at all; we were given rooms far away from the party, great that they took that into account. It was very strange, though, that the rooms were never cleaned, a bit unpleasant. There was also no bicycle storage available or possibility to charge the car. I recommend the hotel for its beautiful, quiet location by the green park and the enclosed parking for which we didn't have to pay extra (normally €9 per day). Velbert is a somewhat dingy town; if you want to see more and eat well, I would head towards Düsseldorf instead."

"It's of course very dependent on your expectation, but don't expect much, there's no occupation, no reception, no bar, no lobby, no drink or snack machine, so you'll have to go over the street, to a supermarket to eat or drink, because there was no bar in the vicinity at that time. Rooms old, small TV and old bathroom, where you can shower in a bathroom, where you can't stand up due to the sweet roof. Breakfast, doubt do everything possible and was fine on its own. To the room is a little careful, wirwar of walks and stairs ... It is not acceptable for repeat."

"A very personal and family-run private hotel in the centre of Velbert. All our guests that we stayed in the support were always fully enthusiastic. Now we were just for dinner there, the food quality was top. Very good wine selection and personal service. It is always best to recommend."

"Females beware of Peter the owner. He was very aggressive and a bully. Tried to inflate the bill and add on breakfasts that we hadn’t had. Was very nasty obviously not a nice man. A bottle of perfume went missing from our room. The back of the property was like a builders yard … and had been for a while. Velbert lovely and qaint but bad hotel."
