"The Maison de la Garenne & Spa is a B&B which offers five guest rooms in a beautiful, very charming, large country house just outside the city walls of Vannes. The location is just perfect: it’s only a five minute walk to the restaurants, shops and yacht harbour. And yet you feel being at the country side. The nice garden with a lovely, refreshing swimming pool is an excellent place to relax after a hot day of sight-seeing. We had the Terre & Mer suite on the first floor. This guest room consisted of a large, cozy bedroom, a handy adjacent room with a coach/bed for an extra person, a small bathroom and a separate toilet room. Breakfast was excellent and you’re well looked after by a very helpful waitress, who can assist you with any additional breakfast request. Christine, who temporarily took over from the owners who were off on a one week vacation, was an excellent host with good advice on restaurants and sightseeing destinations. Make sure you reserve a parking spot for your car as only three spaces are available in front of the house behind the green gate. There’s a public parking (St. Joseph) just behind the wall of the B&B, but it was always fully utilised during the three days we’ve stayed at the B&B. Most parkings close to the city centre seem to be full during the high season. I would have loved to give a five-star review, but the absence of a decent shower in the bathroom was quite a disappointment (not even a shower curtain to keep the bathroom dry). The bathtub is a rather small one too. The absence of airco should normally not represent an issue in Brittany, but I must say that the room becomes quite hot late afternoon on warm summer days. Note however that a fan is at your disposal. This is a bit of a shortfall for a suite, I feel. But do not misunderstand me, this is a great B&B! Excellent address."

"Very clean hotel with extremely kind staff. I travel a lot and in European countries I have never seen the staff taking care of you like helping with your suitcases unless you stay at a 5-star hotel (and still not all of 5-stars do). Breakfast has a variety of exquisite teas to choose from including a local producer’s. Everything is homemade with local specialties. Freshly squeezed orange juice and local apple juice are present along with homemade jams. Buckwheat (which is a staple in Bretagne) honey was interestingly delicious. Croissants and pains au chocolat are delicious and flaky. Location is convenient. I will recommend to everyone."

"This hotel is just off the motorway, free parking. On entering the hotel is clean and staff friendly. Rooms tired , basic they need an upgrade. 1.5 miles to walk to the city. I wouldn’t use this hotel as it’s too far out. Great area to explore nearby though by car."

"Aparthotel correct. Mauvaise isolation phonique (bruit de la route et voisins du dessus), on nous attribué pour 4 nuits, un appartement au rez-de-chaussée alors que j'avais demandé un appartement à l'étage supérieur et 1 parking. Mes demandes n'avaient pas été lues. Heureusement un parking était disponible. Il y avait des appartements disponibles aux étages supérieurs et j'ai demandé un changement qui nous a été refusé au motif: pas de surclassement possible. Pour ces raisons, nous ne sommes pas satisfaits. Ce geste commercial n'aurait pas ruiné Best Western."
